After phone call proximity I get the lock screen

I am a new android owner. When I make a phone call the proximity sensor turns the screen off... great, no accidental screen pressing. However, when I finish the phone call or take the phone away from my ear... I get the lock screen. Why? Why doesn't the screen just go back on to whatever screen was on before the phone call... like the dial pad.
I find this annoying. To hang up a phone call, I have to unlock the screen first.
What phone are you using? Software version etc and are you rooted? This doesn't happen to me so it's not a general android issue.

I have the Moto Droid X. Running CyanogenMod 7.1. Also using exDialer as a dialer replacement.
Does it happen with the stock dialer? If not that's your answer

Yep it happened with the stock dialer on ICS and it is happening with JB as well. I am really surprised it doesn't bother more people. What is most annoying is that, I initiated a new call and put my phone to my ear to only that the call did not even establish (e.g., due to network iss ue) and when I want to place the call again, it is already locked. It is definitely due to the proximity sensor, as the same thing doesn't happen if i never put the phone to my ear and just keep watching the screen to confirm that the call did get established (and started ringing).

If you are rooted, disable your Proximity Sensor in a call. To do so, add following line to /system/build.prop file:
Code:
gsm.proximity.enable=false
.
Plus, make sure to make screen timeout period long. You can use Widgetsoid app (or, other toggle apps) to make it infinite.

I have display timeout set to 2 minutes, so that can't be the problem, as the whole experience when the call is not connected only takes 10 or 15 seconds to complete. However I have security setting to lock the screen in 5 seconds after the display goes to sleep. Perhaps that is somehow related, so I just increased it to 30 seconds, I will see if the problem goes away.

Dialer issue with CM11 on i9205

About half the time I go to make a call the screen dims (like it should), however, the call screen never comes back up. Sometimes I can return to the homescreen, but when I go back into the dialer and hit either return to call in progress or bring up dialpad, it just returns to the homescreen. This makes it impossible to end the call by myself. Is this a known issue with a known fix? I haven't been able to find anything on it. Is there another KitKat rom that doesn't have this problem?

Have same issue with "C-RoM-KK-v6.5-20140512-meliusltexx", phone all repaired from bootloop, imei lost, efs lost itc... but have this big issue in dialer, when i to call have black screen if press Home button i can see the call only from drop-down bar and can stopping only.
Not listen nothing and any option from keyboard for to call direct or High sound... have solved?
There's anybody can write what the issue and how solve?

[Q] Screen won't wake up after a phone call, quick glance only works sporadically.

Within the last week my phone stopped working all the time when it's sitting on your desk with the screen off and you move your hand over it to get the Quick Glance preview. It doesn't work more often than it does. Rebooting sometimes helps getting it working again but not for very long.
When making phone calls the screen does turn off when I hold it up to my ear but once the call is over and I remove it from my ear, it doesn't turn back on anymore. This always happens since the problem started.
Also, I decided to open up the samsung gallery app (I rarely use it since I like QuickPic better) to see if the gesture of swiping your hand above the pictures would still advance to the next one and it does.
Any idea what might be causing this to happen?

Phone screen stays black temporarily at random times

Not always but at random times when I receive a text or a call the screen would stay black and wouldn't allow me to receive the call etc. The rings would keep going but the screen stays black. I am using Cyanogenmod latest nightly and AGNi kernel. Is there any way to fix this?
But if I give some time, the screen is back up. Happens during and after calls too. It's not a regular thing but it would happen randomly once a day or so.
It sounds as though the screen sensor isn't detecting the call. I know this is a common issue in a few lollipop based roms. One reason I personally haven't stayed on an LP rom. I believe that you can change certain settings in the build.prop file but as to what they are exactly I'm not familiar. You would need to search a few sites to confirm.

Incoming Calls on Second Screen & Main Screen?

I am looking to get my calls to come in on both the second screen and home screen. I dont want to miss the calls which i sometimes can when its so small on the second screen but i also want it to show on the second screen aswell in case i need to use the phone while on a call. In the settings there only seems to be 3 options - Show voice calls while in app :
Second Screen
Pop Up
Main Screen for incoming only
Is it not possible for the call to show in the second screen always and also incoming on the main screen? Thanks
Not to sound snarky ... but are you asking for the phone to tell you there's a call coming in 2 times in the same 5 inches?
I don't think you're going to find this in the stock version of the phone. Maybe an app might offer that to you, but even then it's asking for redundancy when most are looking for multi-tasking.
No sorry i must not be explaining myself correctly. I like the feature of the call being shown on the second screen. However it is a bit of a pain to hang up the call and answer sometimes. So i would like to receive the notification in both the tiny second screen area and the main screen. Say i am using an app on the call then i can either switch back to the call on the main screen again or use the second screen to end the call. Currently if i choose for the second screen to show the incoming call then i cannot receive the call to the main screen at all. Perhaps it is asking for too much, though i would actually have assumed this would be relatively normal.
I "think" I understand you now.
If you're on the phone, you want any incoming call notification to be shown as if it's the first call on the big screen with all the options to cancel, auto-reply or pick up while putting the first caller on hold.
I haven't figured out the nuances of that scenario yet - it doesn't work the same as my previous phones, and I've screwed up the connection with the first caller when taking a second call ... I guess I'll have to borrow another phone and play with the settings till I get it down.
If I get it figured out, I'll post back. It might be a few days till I can get to it.
That's it! Kind of hard to explain Thanks and if i figure it out i will also post here.
