I found a Sola forgotten in a drawer, I wonder if any of the custom ROMs will enable me to at least have a usable basic Play Store to get maybe YouTube or a couple of very basic games?
As is right now, even Play Store is not workable.

Whats Android version it is? I have one Xperia Sola too and i use a Custom Jelly Bean ROM. I can use basic functions, spotify lite, youtube (on Browser), etc.
It has the latest that Sola supports officially. I think 4.X.
Anyway I don't care too much any more. I found also a Samsung A5 '6 in another drawer.
Much better.
you should probably just give him the sony xperia.. most kids that start of with very good phones get addicted real quick but when there is a limitation (frames) for games then they dont play as much cause it plays horrible i could hook you up with some games for old phones (pvz cut the rope, tiger ball old versions of minecraft angry birds) that would work flawelessly on old devices.

for sure your games will crash cause the games you were running does not support our X8 specs.
You´ll need ARMv6 versions of this games.
There´s an own thread with games for the X8/other phones with ARMv6 on blackdroid (just google it!).
I can´t give you anything because I only play NFS and Doodle Jump on the X8.

no man i played this games befor on my phone in older rom's like Froyobread.
this problem is new
also i cant install titanium backup new version's just can install version 3.6
Why do you refuse to use FroyoBread? It supports most games. As for GingerBread, just wait till there is new kernel.
Same here. With older Rom I could play Nfs shift and now with Ginger Roms i cant. In froyobread can play many games

I play SHIFT with my GDX.....you'll just have to install the newer version of it. Mine is v1.07. Works like a charm.
Recently, I decided to go on the Playstation Store, through my Tablet S. Turns out, there was an update. Simple enough to install... However, there weren't any noticeable changes to the store itself. I downloaded the games MediEvil and Jet Moto again, seeing how I used to love those games, and I did download them whilist they were free. I had to get rid of them, cause there wasn't enough storage space on my 16GB Tablet. After reinstalling them and everything, the UI was noticeably... Smaller. The buttons in the menus no longer took up the entire screen, and although I may be wrong, I think the Graphics are slightly improved. Text in games seemed less pixelated....
These changes haven't done anything to Pinball Heroes, or Crash Bandicoot.
Anyone here know if there are going to be more games added, or improvements to the emulator?
i guess Sony is the only one who can give u the answer pal. i do not think the Playstation Store app will improve the games or emulator.
It would be so nice if I could comment but as the flaming sony store app for the tablet doesn't work in Ireland I can't

I have updated to ICS 4.0.3 the official XXLPQ and after update everything looks great but some of my games are not working .The y just start working and after i play some minutes they just crash and says The game has stopped working... And sth else. In some games my save progres is not saved..So i just play and after i turn off the game it starts from the begining not in the moment i left it... Are these some bugs of ICS or are just game Bugs ?
Considering you don't specify any actual games, how do you expect useful responses?
Delete and reinstall, the old game data probably isnt working with 4.0.3 because u were playing those games on the old rom

this problem is not only in one game but in some games..This is the reason i didnt specify the game.. This are some of the games that dont work correctly or crashed . Dream Heights,Asphalt 6,NOVA 2,Gangstar 2 etc...
Well, three of them are Gameloft games. Have you contacted them?

Some of these games are currently incompatible with ICS. I don't play many games, But I've been lucky all the ones I do are working fine, like Temple Run's great. So is stickcricket.

I have an Xperia Ray and the two games I mentioned above lag and drop frames to the point of making the games unplayable. Is there something wrong with my device? Is this normal? Does it work well on the Minis or other SE devices with similar specs?
It's really annoying, especially in Wind Up Knight as it makes the game unplayable.
I'm on stock Gingerbread, and I overclocked to 1.4, but the games are still laggy as ****.
You need to have enough free RAM also.
I usually go to Android Applications-Running Services and just close some unneeded ones to free up RAM for the game.
I agree with the above post. I've played Wind Up Knight on stock .62, TEAM Rom Beta4, and TEAM Rom v1.
Might check and turn off some persistently running apps. I only played it after root, removing unwanted apps, and having all my apps set the way I want. I only have a few persistent apps and they don't do much anyhow, everything else is set to only do something when I tell it to and I haven't had a problem running the game.
Hmm, actually with Wind Up Knight, I had to update the game. After the update it runs a lot smoother. At least it's playable.
What about those Gameloft HD games? I tried Let's Golf and Asphalt 6, and they both run at <30 FPS, more like 15-20FPS at best. I'm on stock rom and I removed everything I don't use (including every Facebook related app since I don't use it), closed unneded services, and closed every other app before starting the games.
Maybe those games are too much for our puny Adreno 205s. Hopefully they were both free (Asphalt is free through Getjar).

Last time I tried Asphalt 6, was it incompatible with my LWW.
That was according to Android Market...
EDIT: Android Market says compatible, game itself says incompatible.

If you change in build.prop every thing where is WT19i to ST15i is will say that is compatible.

Hey guys. I just got the phone. Does anyone have a list of app/games that support dual screen? Google searches are not providing much luck to me. Also I see some games that are supposed to support the game pad don't seem to work with the game pad app. Seems like a very good phone, I'm just trying to figure out the best way to utilize it. I know Chrome does and its awesome for multitasking. Having both my fantasy football leagues up at the same time is amazing. Thanks for the help!

Yea, since this is technically the 1st phone of its kind(Axon M withstanding), apps that support the tech are scarce. With the Microsoft Duo coming though, developers are bound to jump on the train by this time next year.

All PWA (progressive web apps) supports extended wide view. Just 'add to homescreen' on supported webs (https://Twitter.com for example)
So just to clarify, I could not get any game to natively support the dual screen view. You can launch the game and the LG Game Launcher to pop up the controller on the bottom. Whether the app supports the controller or not, it opens up the controller. Then if the game supports it, you get the notification that a controller is connected. I was able to play Asphalt 9 with the controller. I was not able to find, install, or test the Pirates of Caribbean (Dual) version of the app. I can find and install the normal version, but I didn't bother with it.

Yeah it's kind of disappointing right now. Even though COD Mobile says it's support controller that LG Game-pad does not connect. You can go in and modify your own configuration for the game but for a game like COD it might be a bit tedious. I was playing around with Trials and since there is only a few buttons to map I was able to get that custom setup. They advertised the LG Game-pad to work with any game that supports a controller. Well that might be partially true. So far Asphalt 9 is the only game that works with the LG Game-pad default controller configs. I tested COD and NBA 2K20 which both support controllers and neither work without having to build your own custom config.
