Hello everyone,
well i bought a CAT S62Pro phone. I am trying to root it ... i am really frustrated now
what have i done ?
- i have latest OTA update - Android 11:
https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/38947871c996a7ed4c023b912f5de87bd416ad89.zip
- i installed it;
- unpacked payload.bin, Installed magisk and patched the boot.img...
Now i am stuck:
- OEM unlock is not present in dev. options menu (have not seen it in A10 either)
- fastoot oem unlock commands are not working. I am getting messeges like:
C:\Users\SzczeGr\Desktop\platform-tools>fastboot oem unlock
FAILED (remote: 'Command not supported in default implementation')
fastboot: error: Command failed
- some system properties
[sys.oem_unlock_allowed]: [0]
[ro.oem_unlock_supported]: [1]
I can not flash stuff in EDL mode - i dont have proper FIrehose/sahara programmer.
I have some questions:
- does anybody have firehose/sahara and those .xml files to flash stuff in EDL mode ?
- does anybody know how to repack payload.bin and create OTA update package ? It may be the fastest way to root it. Step by step guide would be OK.
- how to edit/create firehose programmer ? is it possible ?
- does anybody have an idea how to unlock bootloader ???? Stack overflow, firehose or hack or something ?
Any help would be cool.
Thank you in advance....
This needs more attention, Phone is crippled with dog**** software and UI choices. So much potential wasted its a real shame.
FU cat
maybe one of these firehose programmers work, so you can unlock
https://github.com/bkerler/Loaders/tree/main/qualcomm/factory/sdm660
if your firmware is :
Cat/S62Pro/S62Pro:11/RKQ1.210406.002/1.014.01
boot and recovery are here :
cat s62pro boot recovery.zip

If you have the "Allow OEM unlock" toggle in developer options, switch it on, then
adb reboot fastboot

fastboot flashing unlock_critical

Follow instructions on the phone to unlock bootloader.... After reboot, and until you run the bootloader lock command, you will get a warning that the bootloader is unlocked and data on the device can't be verified at power on, before boot logo...
This is where I'm stuck... I have the latest firmware on S62(not Pro) and I can't find a means to get boot.img to patch and flash. There isn't a loader for edl, fastboot is only for writing to, not read back of partitions, and I can't find the OTA update .zip with a payload.bin to extract the boot.img from... If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated

hi all
the guide to how to unlock the bootloader and root your HTC Jeststrema
but before that all the credit to have root for DooMLoRD
Step 1: unlock your bootloeder from www.htcdev.com
you will not find that jetstream is listed on the site but don't worry just follow the instruction on the site and you will unlock your boot loader.
step 2: root your jetstream
Follow this thread by DeooMLoRd http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1416145
Insecure kernel + autorooting test2
download link: http://www.multiupload.com/ARWHD9V11Q
reboot into fastboot mode (adb reboot bootloader)
check if device is detected (fastboot devices)
if its detected then try hotbooting this kernel u downloaded (fastboot boot filename.img)
if the device boots u should have superuser in app drawer
incase u dont just check the output of this command (adb shell ls -l /DooM*)
step 3:
then download the v02 toolkit for JetStream files and extract contents in root directory of ur pc (e.g: c:\ OR d:\)
link : http://www.multiupload.com/OZSJFQTQX7
then just connect device (with my insecure kernel on it) and activate USB debugging...
then execute RUNME.bat
thats it
ur device should now be permanently rooted after reboot...
again all the credits for DooMLoRD
thanks and have a fune
after the bootloader unlocking step kindly redirect the users to my thread:

Reboot into bootloader, then enter fastboot and do:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Once locked, go ahead and run the RUU while in the bootloader.

Hi everyone,
This topic is probably outdated, but i recently did a few research in order to root a Wiko Rainbow UP 4G with Android 5.1, like mega180 asked.
From what i found (every info is not fresh), the easy way to do this is to use Kingroot v4.8.0. I tried it and, yes, it works. But you have this app stuck on your phone, and you may want to get rid of it. I read that the app superSume Pro is good for this, but it's not free and i haven't tried it myself (yet).
I might have found an less easy way to get the root, which is the following one. Please correct me if you read something false, as i'm quite new in the Android game, i don't have a strong understanding of everything. So, if you :
1) unlock the bootloader
2) install a custom recovery like TWRP
3) flash Super SU
... it should do the job, right ?
So step by step :
<> Step 1 - Unlock the bootloader
For this, a simple fastboot oem unlock command should work. For those who would not know, please note that this will erase all the user's data (and that is a good thing). By the way, i looked into a ROM with a method similar to this one (thanks to this article and its author !), and fyi that's the OEM commands we can find inside :
Code:
oem p2u
oem reboot-recovery
oem append-cmdline
oem off-mode-charge
oem unlock
oem lock
oem key
oem lks
I'm note sure to get the purpose of every command here, like "oem lks" for instance, if you have any information to share ...
<> Step 2 - Install a custom recovery
I found on a french forum that a version of TWRP had been released for the Rainbow UP 4G, but the links provided to download it are dead today. Has anyone heard about that ? There is nothing about Wiko phones on the TWRP website. Once you have it just do a fastboot flash recovery your_custom_recovery.img and that's it, i guess.
<> Step 3 - Flash Super SU
All you need is the Super SU flashable zip, but ... on the website, the links are (also) dead ! With this file, simple flash it with TWRP and you will succeed.
If that is ok to get root access, the only things i miss to try it are these files that must exist somewhere ... so any help will be welcomed. And if all this post is full of stupidities and i'm completely wrong, i'll be glad to know it too !
Thanks for reading !
Greetings, I own a tablet that has MT6592 Chipset. It has CPU (Cortex A7) and GPU(Mali-450).
It runs on kitkat 4.4.2. I want to flash a Custom ROM on it.
I have the Custom ROM File, but i am unable to unlock the bootloader to install TWRP(Easy TWRP maker).
Using ADB i tried to unlock the bootloader.
I typed in the command : fastboot oem unlock ,
Then i get a message on my screen saying, "Press Volume up to unlock (This will void warranty)"
When i do so, it shows a fail message.

So any help would be appreciable
PS: I tried consequently 5 times, still no hope.

I think you haven't installed correct fastboot drivers.
This "bug" is known at some MTK-devices. There are some solutions for a few devices, by using patched boot.img, but none for this. Did you find a solution yet?
I have a Redmi Note 3 (INDIAN VARIANT Kenzo/Snapdragon variant running on Marshmellow 6.0.1 with MIUI Global 10.2) on which I performed an bootloader unlocking procedure via the tool XiaoMiTool V2 from xdahttps://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/tool-miunlocktool-unlock-bootloader-t3782444 since the official method kept denying me for some reason
I also want to let you know that during the procedure i left the oem unlocking option disabled (off) and ran the tool
So after the device's bootloader was unlocked (ss attached)

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I noticed that the OEM unlocking option was still active (meaning I can flip the button and it will just ask for the pass and warn me and enable the option: again ss attached)
Isn't supposed to grayed out ?
So my question is is my device properly unlocked? OR Did I mess up with procedure ? I know i could dial *#*#7378423#*#* (which doesn't work in miui devices) or using fastboot method mentioned here https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/73567/how-to-check-if-your-bootloader-is-unlocked and i got like
What does this mean ?
Any help is highly appreciated and thank you in advance
Once you enable the OEM unlocking in Developer options, in Android's system file build.prop the unlock ability flag is set to 1, what basically is requirement to start the bootloader-unlock procedure, what typically is carried out via Fastboot.
Typically you run
Code:
fastboot OEM get-bootinfo
to check if the bootloader is unlocked.

Implementations of Fastboot are different. Some subcommand may be supported, others not: that depends on OEM/Carrier.
Hello, so I decided to try an root this junky phone I have which is a moxee m2160. I followed a guide on youtube, I unlocked the bootloader, then got magisk. I then created the patched-magisk.img then used my computer & fastboot to flash it too the device. I was pretty sure I had gotten it until I rebooted it an it booted back too the bootloader. I'll upload pics of my screen to show you where Im stuck. Am I able to fix the phone with my pc somehow? I probably should've gathered more info before I did it. Thanks for any answers in advance.

fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
Something like this part I forgot the part with the empty vbmeta or from stock. Search. Good luck more I don't can help. I read it only somewhere
I've done the same thing to this phone every option on that screen doesn't do anything just reboots to the same screen. Does anyone out there have this phone and have the stock ROM or anything at all that would help restore this phone. I found out it is made by KonnectOne it is a government assistance phone from Assurance Wireless and that is pretty much all I can come up with. Any assistance at all would help a noob like myself, learning as I go. Thanks.
Specs for this devices are here https://phonedady.com/moxee-m2160
Greetings members. The support team over at KonnectOne has granted my request for factory firmware for this smartphone. I am presently in the process of establishing a secure file transfer protocol with support to download the package. I will have it later this week if any members are in need of it

QFIL (Qualcomm Flash Image Loader)
Download Qualcomm Flash Image Loader (QFIL) - Qualcomm Tool
Download Qualcomm Flash Image Loader (QFIL) to flash stock firmware on Qualcomm based Smartphone and Tablets easily in few clicks.

You will find a how-to guide in the link I sent. You will need to install the Qualcomm EDL drivers and boot your phone into EDL mode in order to use QFIL. To boot into EDL, hold volume up and down simultaneously while connecting your phone and PC.
I will be posting a full QFIL guide this weekend.
