CWM Backup file location? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've done a Nandroid backup on my s3 prior to trying to update the Android version. Looking at the memory used it's not on the ext SD card and is clearly on the internal memory but isn't visible on the phone or from my pc. I need to clean up space and move / delete.
Any help appreciated

Sorted, ended up re-installing the stock 4.3 rom and clearing everything off.
If anyone else in the UK has the same issue on the S3, the files are still out there for free but took a bit of tracking down.

I've been using cyanogenmod ROM on my tab 2 p3100 that has been acting weird; maps force closing, black screens constantly, apps freezing for extended periods of time, and I want to start fresh. I'm going on a road trip for the holidays and would really like to use maps as they were intended.
I wiped all my personal data but there are still some pictures showing up in gallery and some app folders that didn't get deleted. My understanding is that this is all on the internal SD card. Is the ROM itself (AOKP 4.1.2) on the internal SD card also? If I were to go into CWM and format the internal SD would I lose everything and would the phone be unable to boot or would I be able to simply re-flash the ROM? if i were to put the new ROM on an external SD card would i be able to go back into CWM and flash it from there?
If I'm missing something feel free to correct me or point me in the right direction (a guide would be ideal). I've searched on various sights and can't find exactly what I'm looking for, everything seems a little vague.

i was wondered this a long time ago also bare with me as i try my best to explain what i know. so since tabs normally come with a lot of internal space and from what my knowledge is it makes the internal the default storage. for every file manager i use it defaults to the internal if you pop a micro sdcard into it the internal will still be the default apps will install on the internal only first (unless you use apps2sd or your internal has run out of storage) as for where the rom is at. yes it is inside the sdcard thats why when we buy the 16gig and we only end up with 14g its for the rom and other necessity's the tab needs to live. i dont know how you would format the internal sd card but im sure you would lose your rom if you do it. its very confusing i lost my stock backup (got the tab 2 also) because i thought the backup went to the external but it when to the internal and i wipped data and flashed a new rom. not sure if i answered your questions or answered any of them at all.
Also please remove this from your signature "hit thanks, instead of saying thanks" you shun yourself saying that we are here to help people not feel cool because we have alot of likes :/

[Q] Something is using up all of my Storage Space (even after Wipe/Reset) - Help

Hi Everyone,
I have an issue with my VZW GS4. All of my storage seems to be utilized by "phantom" files. I was updating my playstore apps yesterday and I got a memory almost full error. I only have 1 GB pictures, .5 GB music, and .3 GB applications used. I know the system is using almost half of the my memory off the bat, but looking at the files above, it did not make sense that I would only have 300 MB left out of 9GB or so available to me.
My device was rooted, but was still on the VRUAMDK Kernel flashed after rooting. I had Titanium backup installed but did not actually do any backups. I had CWM manager installed and had one recovery that took up a small amount of memory, so I wasn't sure what would be taking up all my memory.
I decided I wanted to do a wipe on the phone after backing up my pics/music to see if i could wipe the memory and start clean. I wiped the device using the stock recovery app and the phone still only has 4.2GB free. I guess a wipe/factory reset does not clean EVERYTHING off the SD card. When I go into the Device Memory section in settings, it appears I have half of memory free, but it still lists 4.2GB available. I did a file usage analysis and it does not listed Could something I had done in CWM Rom Manager created some hidden files that wouldn't get wiped? Does the GS4 auto software update download to a hidden folder before being installed? The phone recently download the new ME7 firmware which I did not install yet.
Using an android file browser i've looked around the SD card system folders but I would have no idea what would be taking up so much room. Has anyone else had an issue like this? Can I wipe the non-system partition of the SD card somehow? I am just not familiar with this and I wouldn't want to mess up the OS somehow.

Looks like a CWM recovery was sitting in root/data/media. I found this solution in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2274218

Help needed in recovering Internal Memory data!

Hello guys,
I was using DorimanX v 119 10 series along with Slim Saber 08/24 release, then yesterday when the battery was around 18% it turned off randomly.
When I turned it on, I saw I was not getting options for Dual Boot and it took me straight to Primary ROM where it showed a message Internal Memory Damaged, format it on the notification bar.
Tried opening Titanium Backup and other apps to backup but SDCARD0(internal storage) was not mounted anywhere.
Restarted the phone and now its getting stuck on DorimanX logo.
Tried mounting from recovery and doesn't seem to work..
Is there anyway possible to recover my data? There are lots of information and photos that I need in that internal memory
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
had that happen to me more than once on kitkat.
are you able to mount usb in recovery?
tried this?: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108
i went back to my jellybean backup and copied everything over to my computer.
I would be interested to hear how you are doing on this?
I recently had a crash on my S2 with the same version of DorimanX.
Had you repartitioned?
Thanks for your input guys.
@rgomia, the internal memory still shows corrupted and not able to read from it even from Aroma file manager
Actually I tried flashing slimsaber again and I could boot but still the internal memorys not readable from any file manager. Looks like I'll have to repartition it.
Was looking to somehow recover those lost data, but doesn't look like there's a chance
Reformatting worked and everything back to normal, Since I'm gonna get Redmi 1S anyway, I'll stay on slim kernal and use this as a backup phone. 5 years of important data and photos lost in the process :/
If your phone is bootable you should just mount it on your PC and run a file recovery program.
Your pictures are usually stored on your primary SD card.

Unable to save to Note 3 after restoring backup rooted rom

Hey guys
On my SM-N900W8 Note 3, I've had it running a rooted stock rom.
Yesterday I decided to try out Gummy Rom....did a backup in TWRP.....I also backed up all my apps with Titanium just to be safe.. wiped data....installed Gummy Rom....it just wasn't for me.
Wiped data again......restored my stock rooted rom that I've been using this whole time........phone booted up without a problem...SUCCESS! At least I thought success....started to notice some errors with some of the apps I have...
Wasn't able to get any of my snapchats....swiftkey was giving me errors.....then I tired to save a picture and saw that it had failed....strange
I Have several gigs available on my internal and external SD card....
Opening up Titanium....I can see that all folders, internal AND external say "This folder is not writable."
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Update: I've installed SDFix, and I can now save to my external SD card.....however I still can't save to my internal memory.

[Q] help with CWM and phone space

hey. I'm running on CM 10.1.3-RC1 on my i777, and ahve been for quite some time. Thing is, my internal SD has absolutely no space in it, and I cant install apps from the play store at all. I have installed literally nothing on my internal storage other than clockworkmod, and it is taking up all the space available. I'd like to be able to remove/or atleast move my backups somewhere to create space on my phone. Here is the current file structure on the phone Computer\SGH-I777\SD card\clockworkmod\backup\ which contains the files nandroid, boot, ..android_secure.vfat, system.ext4, cache.ext4 and data.ext4.
I don't plan to unroot or upgarde my CM version anytime soon, if that helps
Any help would be greatly appreciated
and my sincerest apologies if I posted on the wrong forum
