[Q] Can't access Galaxy Tab 10.1 as USB drive

Hi,
I have a new galaxy tab 10.1 and a computer with windows XP. I've installed the USB driver from the samsung website, but when i connect the tablet to the computer, the only thing that comes up is a little window saying "MTP Media Player" and i can either "Transfer files using windows media player" or "take no action". How do i access the tablet in windows explorer?
Thanks,
Alan
You have to make sure USB Debugging is turn off and your bluetooth connection is turned off as well

After upgrading my galaxy tab 10.1 i had same problem with PC connections, recognized only as MTP without option to transfer files.
I upgraded media player from 10 to 11 in my XP computer, reinstalled usb driver from samsung site - it solved my problem.
Thanks krbernier

[Q] Dont see Tab on Mac as storage

Try to link Tab 10.1 to Mac via USB but tablet did not appers on computer as external device. What should I do to get access to files on Tab via Mac?
to manage media on your tablet, get the Samsung Kies application:
http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.c...0111005135807943/KiesMac_1.0.1.11095_18_2.dmg
and for anything else, you need a FTP program ala https://market.android.com/details?id=ustc.lfr.ftp&feature=search_result
So basically Google or Samsung screwed up. I just use ADB.
My money is on Samsung, my boss' lenovo works well with Mac

wifi adb connection problem

Hi everyone
I have been recentrly trying to connect my rooted android 4.1.2 smartphone with windows 7 via wifi - and all the attempts have failed.
I have tried many programs, also the fantastic 3c toolbox, with its wadb option, also adb wifi, which is present in the forum. on windows 7, i installed adb setup, followed all advice given by developers of the programs. also tried the plugin for total commander. I am starting to suspect the problem might be in windows settings, but have no idea where to start with the diagnostics.
could you, please, help?

[Guide] Flashing Galaxy Ace with Mac Computers

Background
I recently dug out Galaxy Ace from my desk. Good to know that dust didn't piled up!
So I tried to turn it on, forgetting that I soft-bricked it long before. I saw yellow triangle, in middle of dots connecting PC and a phone.
So just becoming curious, I tried to connect my MacBook Pro and see whether Kies detects it or not. Obviously, it didn't.
Since I had bootcamp that allows me to boot Windows 10 on MacBook Pro, I booted Windows 10 and connected it. Computer showed up with a message "USB Device Not Recognized"
I tried VMWare Player on Windows 10, but it didn't work either.
I thought I had to run to thrift store to get a cheap Windows XP computer (It would not that practical to investigate the money exceeding the price of Galaxy Ace, right? Since any cheap single-core Windows XP computer would do its job to recover my Galaxy Ace, thrift store would be the best choice). But I found the solution.
Instructions
Things You Need:
- Galaxy Ace, obviously
- A computer with any version of macOS supporting newest VirtualBox (linux might work, but never tried personally.)
- VirtualBox and extension pack: Grab it from Here
- USB cable
- Odin Multi Downloader and Cooper.ops: Grab it from Here
- Galaxy Ace Stock ROM: Be careful not to flash S5830i firmware!
- Windows XP (You need to obtain it for yourself, from ebay, old computer's recovery disc, or etc...)
1. Install VitrualBox on macOS. I didn't tried Windows version of VirtualBox, but since Windows 10 showed a message that it failed to recognize USB device and VMWare did not work, it is not likely to work. I will try Windows version of VirtualBox and tell about any updates.
2. Open VirtualBox and install Windows XP. Install guest add-ons and enable drag and drop from host to guest.
3. Install VirtualBox Extension Pack. It will enable the guest system to support USB 2.0, which is essential to support Galaxy Ace download mode.
4. Install Samsung Driver on Virtual Machine. Also, drag and drop Odin and stock ROM, as well as ops file to the virtual machine.
5. Put your Galaxy Ace to download mode and connect it to computer. Click the USB icon on the VirtualBox and select MSM7x27.
6. Run Odin and load ops file. Your Galaxy Ace will show up.
7. Load stock ROM file to odin by clicking either "one package" (In case of one package) or "Boot","Phone", "PDA", "CSC" sections.
8. Click "Start"!
9. Your Galaxy Ace will be restored to Stock ROM.

Just so I'm clear on this, you're saying that your Windows 8.1 laptop cannot establish ADB communications with your mobile Android device? Also, what platform or build environment are you using for mobile app development?

Your issue is almost certainly due to a missing or incorrect USB device driver. With your RealMe connected to your laptop, how is the device showing up in your Device Manager?
