Since One UI 4 hardware volume buttons always controls the local media volume, even when using an app that provides remote volume like BluOS, casting, You Tube DIAL or similar. The Remote volume is in the volume panel, it is just not connected to the hardware keys.
Is there a way to fix this?
Unfortunately I can no longer downgrade since the latest version bumped the security version. I tried installing a GSI rom as an alternative but unfortunately they just have too many issues to be usable.

Hey Folks,
I'm not able to adjust my volume or long press the up volume button to skip songs when I have the screen locked. Is this the way it is or is it just me?
The apps in question are Google Music Beta & Doggcatcher. I know for a fact that Music Beta allows for song skipping (not too important in doggcatcher). I just "upgraded" from an N1 running CM7 so that may be it and I may be spoiled. I thought that, at the very least, I'd be able to adjust the volume while the phone's in my pocket.
My X2 is the same way. I have to turn the screen on to adjust the volume. I hope it's a software issue that can be fixed.
I just found an acceptable work around. I installed Widget Locker and enabled any hardware button to wake the device. The screen wakes (but doesn't unlock) and the volume can be adjusted by just pushing the rocker.
Hello,
I have been looking around and I am having trouble finding if there is an app that would do this. Does anyone know of an app that can disable the volume rocker on my phone from changing the media volume or disable the volume rocker completely? I always hit it by accident when playing games and sometimes it happens in class during a boring lecture and its pretty embarrassing!
I tried an app called Volume Control + but it doesn't seem lock the volume if you have a game running. So I guess I need an app that would require root.
Volume Locker doesn't work on my phone either
Thanks!

On both iPhone and the new blackberry 10 phones. You can disable volume buttons turning the ringer up. You can make it so the volume buttons only controls media and nothing else no matter where you are.how do you do this on android.?
I don't think I've seen that option on any of the Android versions. But maybe if we had xposed working you could have a mod to make it work.
Wondering if I could get some help on this. When I used my old Nexus 7 tablet with my bluetooth headphones which have volume control, when I adjusted the volume on the headphones using the physical buttons, it adjusted the system volume in the tablet. However on my Mediapad when I adjust the volume on the same set of headphones, it adjusts the volume independently on the tablet. Basically right now I have two volume controls, one on the tablet, and one on the headphones, and they aren't linked. Any idea how to link them up, so I control the system volume with my headphones?
is there any way to use Volume Up as Volume Up ONLY,
Volume Down as Volume Down ONLY?
i just want to change the volume, but instead it skips/ restarts the track, its so annoying.
i think its an Android 10 problem, as i had tried on both Lineage & Carbon roms.
i've tried to search but no related result.
