@ZenCool
Download the latest stock ROM for your model directly from Samsung's server and then flash it via Odin.

Hi all
I have been trying to root my galaxy s2 GT 19100 so I can install a custom rom for a few days now but I keep getting this error message:
Using JB 4.1.2
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(status 7)
I have tried doing this with odin 3.07 but for some reason the .zip files aren't showing up when trying to select the rom.
I have the roms in a folder on my desktop /s2 roms in zip format.
I always run odin as admin.
I am running Windows 8.1 and I have already checked folder options to showw all files.
Any suggestions much appreciated.

did you try to flash the rom in a custom recovery like CWM? if not do that. And redownload the custom rom maybe it was a download fault.
And one more thing, that file is not made to flash with odin but in recovery mode :highfive:
Did you have working custom recovery aka cwm before flash custom rom?
Which rom you are running on your phone? Is it Stock Rom?
If Stock rom you have install CWM.
On odin you only update Stock rom (Ex;4.1.2 Stock) thought a file (.tar).
You have looking for CWM 6.x.x .tar and then you can install through Odin.
After install, go to CWM by holding Power + Volume Up + Home and then install zip file
Hi Guys,
I need some help guiding me through the Lollipop rom install on my GT-I9300T
So the phone has been rooted already using Odin and was successful.
I have then downloaded the rom and google apps and super su, but at the time of update it is coming up with
E: failed to verify whole- file signature.
ok so this is where I need someone to tell me exactly the rom I need, and any kernel update or whatnot I need to get a lollipop rom onto my phone.
phone also has current firmware update from kies
Android version 4.3
Thank you for reading and hope someone can shed some light
@paulyhg: if you say 'update', you're probably in stock-recovery, which is unable to flash a custom-ROM. Flash 1st TWRP-recovery with Odin.
or fllash cwm via odin http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2052830&d=1371584952
Hey guys
My name is rishab
I have a SAMSUNG GALAXY J100H
my phone is Using TWRP RECOVERY (UNOFFICIAL) as cwm is not there for my phone
there are no custom roms for my phone and the stock firmware was in md5 format so there was no way I could port a Rom .
So I had to make a rom myself
So I started making my rom and I followed this tutorial
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801690
I did not make any customizations because I thought I'll do the customizations after I make the stock rom
So I finished making the rom and changed the update script to updater zip and I created the rom I used dxdas kitchen
After that I copied the finished rom.zip and copied it to my phone's memory card
I put my phone on RECOVERY and tried flashing the rom but it didn't install and I got an ERROR saying
ERROR EXECUTING UPDATER BINARY IN ZIP
Can someone HELP me fix this problem
Please help
Thanks In advance
Hello. I have a stock S2 S959G that hasn't been rooted and am interested in installing my 1st ROM. I have read Mr.Cook's thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982571), I feel pretty confident in trying to root my phone. However, after reading other threads on xda, I am under the impression that I don't need to even root my phone when installing newer ROMs. Instead all I need to do is install TWRP recovery, download ROM, compatible gapps, and I'm good to flash?
I know its not that simple and any step by step instructions on how to flash the latest the newest TWRP, ROM, and gapps available for my phone would be greatly appreciated. Apologies in advance for being the newest of noobs.
*Edit: I was successful in installing TWRP 2.7.1.0 found in Mr.Cooks link. Still no success with the zip file for the 2.8.7.0v.*
I found (what I believe is the latest recovery for my phone) TWRP 2.8.7.0 in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2-att/development/mtp-twrp-2-8-7-0-i777-s959g-t3212309
Of course the TWRP found in this thread is a .zip file and odin doesn't recognize .zip files. I read on how to change it .tar or other usable file but it seems that you need a Linux machine.
I also tried the download twrp link in Mr. Cook's thread I linked in the OP. Unfortunately when I tried to download to the phone in ODIN it tells me the MP5 is invalid. I tried it again and it said complete write failed. Could it be the version of ODIN I am using is to outdated (1.85)?
*Edit: Found the answer to ODIN failing due to complete write in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/solved-help-completewrite-operation-t1157231*
Again any help provided would be greatly appreciated.
Hi everyone can someone help me with my sm-J730g i have flashed a wrong rom and now stuck on bootloop. i tried flshing stock rom in odin but it fails. it says sv rev. check fail.device 2: binary 1. thank you please guys beep me up
Just flash it with the latest firmware build. 8.1 s available and its in binary 5. I think your on binary 2 and your trying to flash a binary 1 firmware. Just flash the oreo firmware and that should do it.
