Hey guys
My name is rishab
I have a SAMSUNG GALAXY J100H
my phone is Using TWRP RECOVERY (UNOFFICIAL) as cwm is not there for my phone
there are no custom roms for my phone and the stock firmware was in md5 format so there was no way I could port a Rom .
So I had to make a rom myself
So I started making my rom and I followed this tutorial
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801690
I did not make any customizations because I thought I'll do the customizations after I make the stock rom
So I finished making the rom and changed the update script to updater zip and I created the rom I used dxdas kitchen
After that I copied the finished rom.zip and copied it to my phone's memory card
I put my phone on RECOVERY and tried flashing the rom but it didn't install and I got an ERROR saying
ERROR EXECUTING UPDATER BINARY IN ZIP
Can someone HELP me fix this problem
Please help
Thanks In advance

Hi all, I actually own a H7300 (Hero) android phone version 2.3.5 dual sim etcetera.
I really just wanted root access to use Titanium Backup but Gingerbreak 1.2 SuperOneClick 2.3.3 wouldn’t give it to me.
So I read avidly all the information I could find “Bruno Martin” “Bunta” and downloaded all I could
In the way of ROMS SPFlashTool and I finally work up the courage to try flashing the recovery ROM
Using the scatter text file found it the SPFalshTool and a recovery ROM image from Bunta V6 (not in Version 8?)
Well the Flashing worked and I booted in recovery mode this time I had to hold the volume down button not volume up as with the original recovery image got into CMW (ClockWorkMod) version 5.0.2.8 and scrolled to apply update from SD card (I prepared this earlier) and this is what I get
E:Can’t mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can’t open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can’t find misc
And a lot more lines pertaining to the same.
I looked this up by Googling and didn’t really find a solution just a mention of the Android Police!
I note that neither Bruno nor Bunta actually own a phone like this but have cooked these roms because they can.
If anyone has actually succeeded in getting any of these Roms to work in the 2.3.5 version of the H7300 please please let me into the secret!

Bruno Martins has an adapted custom recovery for this phone. Seems that hardware changed in the newest H7300.
The one I own is from May 2012 and also works only with the new recovery, I had the same problem and messages as you with the first custom recovery.
You need also a new boot.img file to copy into the update zip with new rom, or copy the Boot.img from your now working into the update.zip, with
the boot.img your phone isn't able to boot normally.

Hi Robbel, I actually got a response from Bunta and he suggested what you also have suggested this was the result
I did what you said got the new recovery image and installed it with SP flash tool I also replaced the boot image in your V6 by decompressing both your v8 and the new boot.img replacing it in the decompressed file then zipped it as update.zip to my SD card I ran CWM and this time the backup was successful (no mention of cache)
When I tried to install your ROM this is the message I got
--installing: /sdcard/update.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Installation aborted.
I also tried V3.3 mod from BM and got the same message
Hi does anyone got a working current version of king kangers kernel zip can share? I tried for past two days downloading again on the thread but the file still gave me error when flashing. if any help would be appreciated xD happy flashing lol
What does the error say
Try to Update your recovery, if that doesn't work.
extract the boot.img and then get a working kernel zip and throw that extracted file in it overwriting the one that was in there.
Try this one... http://db.tt/kVb1z6wP
I'm on latest recovery but i will flash the recovery again and try with the one i downloaded and the one i just received. Thanks guys
** I flashed the new 2.3.2.3 recovery again and flashed the old king kangers zip and it showed E: can't copy META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary
Error flashing zip --> Failed
** The file posted mrstone77 worked for me. Thanks!
Hi guys,
Yesterday I did some research on which custom ROM to install (I need to get my android version from 2.1 to 2.2 or higher). Various topics about custom ROMS are available here but the instructions aren't always as clear for a newbie.
Fyi: I got a HTC Hero.
In another topic I read this:
Wipe
Flash ROM
Don't reboot
Flash kernel
Reboot

So firstly I'll make a backup of my contacts and of my contents of the phone, I guess?
How do I flash the current ROM?
Why is not rebooting a pointer? Is it that dangerous?
I have no idea what flashing the kernel is, or how I should do this.
And last, I think I know how to reboot, hopefully.
Furthermore, after downloading the custom ROM I want, I put it on my SD card or something I guess?
Thanks for the help guys!
Little update: downloaded ClockworkMod and tried to instal, but I already got an error. Failed to extract or something like that.
Well install cwm for your device
You can reboot by pulling out your own battery and put it back on
Flashing rom means flashing the whole os
Flashing the kernel means just flashing a part os
Both have similar installation procedures
YA YOU NEED TO COPY THE ZIPS TO SD
BE sure to flash a rom that's meant for your device (important)

Hey everyone,
i've got an i9300 device with 4.1.1 (XXDLIH) on it
I wanted to installed a custom rom on it (Omega ROM v38)
First i flashed CWM via Odin like in the instructions, after that i downloaded the rom put it in the sd card and booted the phone into CWM, i did the wipe and factory reset and choosed the rom zip for installing
After about 10 minutes the phone rebooted, but it is still on stock rom, so i thought what could the problem be and remembered that i need to root the phone first.
Now i have the problem that i can't (don't know), i don't know which way i should use for rooting so that i can afterwards install the Omega Custom rom ....
Note that i have now the CWM 5.5 recovery and don't know how to get back to stock recovery ...
Please if someone could tell me exactly what should i do, how exactly to root it and install the rom :/
Thanks everyone in advance
If you think that it would be better to install another custom rom then feel free to tell me

Download the latest stock ROM for your model directly from Samsung's server and then flash it via Odin.
Ok
