How does it work? Anyone tried? Is there any weird thing not working? If a call or message come in both phones will it show in gear or if you make a call from Gear does it take call from default sim?
Any one?
It is a good question. Samsung duos can forward a call from one sim to another when you are in a call. There is no option, as far as I know to forward a call to a Specific number. If that is possible gear s will work without a problem. Example: sim 1 - ongoing call, sim 2 call transfered to gear S. Superb situation. ( I just sold my S5 duos so I cannot try it, but someone will help us with an answer, I hope)
Is it possible to port some sort of app or maybe do some kind of work around to get google voice to work on gear s via wifi or data? I currently use my att gear s over straight talk network on the tablet 15 dollar a month plan so i dont have to change my plan and lose my unlimited data on my phone. If it could use google voice over 3g it would regain all the functionality i lost by not having a voice plan and be more awesome! Help devs plz
If ya ask Google reeeeeal nice ... maybe they'll do what they did for Apple and create something ... doubt it.
for now you can use opera mini to access the Google Voice mobile website on the Gear S
Okay ill give it a shot
I am able to use my GV to call out and text on my watch I receive VMs call/texting I have no app on my watch but it works So 3 numbers (Phone/GV/watch) all work with watch. I can forward my GV to my watch alone or can use my phone for GV and phone number calls
Hi
Got one of these coming soon so looking into what this bad boy can do....
Q. This has a built in SIM so will come with a number so people can call my watch direct. If I pair with my phone and someone calls me on the phone, can I answer it on my watch???
Reason I am asking is that my phone is actually a Galaxy S 10.5 and I have been using Gear 1 with this, and I want to continue to be able to take calls from my tablet on my new watch
Any help is much appreciated
Cheers

They can call your watch directly but if it's paired to your phone it will go right to voice mail. However, if your phone is off it will ring and work like a standard phone. When your main phone is on and paired via BT it will ring at the same time as your phone. If it's connected remotely it will ring after your phone rings about 4-5 times, unless you manually forward it.

Hi, sorry if this has been answered previous but I can't see it. I've had a gear s before and recently purchased a new one however I'm sure the last one I had I was able to receive notifications on the watch even when my phone was not on me, I don't seem to be able to get this to work on my new one. Also my gear s won't allow me to set up the call forward from mobile feature so I can only receive calls and notifications while Bluetooth is connected. The only thing I can think I've done differently this time around is taken out a SIM on a shared plan rather than the SIM having it's own data allowance. Anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
For some reason the call and text on my Tab S7+ and S10+ isn't always working. When I make a call using the Tab S7+ I see a message saying "No network connection" but on my S10+ the call is being made but hangs up because it could not transfer to the tablet. I can't get any incoming calls either but get a missed call notification after they hang up. I cleared the cache and data on both the phone app and call & text app and it worked for a day. Now not even clearing the cache and data works. I don't know what the issue could be. Anyone have these issues?
I have the sprint version of the Tab s7. There’s no option to turn on calls and text from other devices. It came with a messenger app but no dialer. I’m confused. Am I unable to make Calls. I have the note 10+
That's another strange issue. Does Spring allow this service? I read that some providers in the US don't support this feature. I'm still having issue getting it to work 100%. I even cleared the cache partition on my phone thinking there might be something in there that is corrupt. Funny thing is sometimes I make a call on my Tab S7+ and get the no network connection but after a minute or two my phone stays its making a call from the Tab S7+. So there is a delay for some reason. Could this be something with the Samsung servers?

They said Verizon and ATT doesn't have the feature. I dont even have a phone dialer. Sprint told me to contact Samsung. Samsung said its sprint.
What I don't understand is why does it matter what service provider you have. From my understanding this feature works like this; (1) I make a call on my tablet (2) it goes through my home wi-fi to Samsung's server (3) Samsung server sends the number to my phone and initiates the call.
So why would the service provider care or even know if I directly make the call from my phone or it gets remotely dialed by Samsung.

Well I had a chat with Sprint again and they said the service has been disabled on all their tablets. I would have to download a 3rd party app to make calls. It does have a mess
Disabled on the T-Mobile S7+ as well. Went in through ADB and could not find the packages for this anywhere. Samsung said in marketing this tablet that it was not available on the Plus at launch, but that was the fine print. Just above that it said it was available, period. Hoping it shows up with the Android 11 update, whenever that shows up.

Sprint told me that they will no longer support making calls from the tablet. Apple tablets are still able to do this. I'm so angry about this. I've downloaded a phone app and now I have to use a new number with it... I hate it

It works with AT&T if you use an unlocked (XAA) phone.
AT&T only blocks it on the carrier version.
I have a Note 20 Ultra that was an AT&T carrier phone. I changed CSC to XAA and loaded U1 firmware and Call and Text on other devices is now available and working be tween my Tab S7 and my Note 20 Ultra.
Also, the calls do not get routed through Samsung. The link between the two devices is authenticated via Samsung, but the hand off is local (peer to peer) via your Wi-Fi connection.
Since you were able to get call and text on other devices working by changing firmware, did you loose the ability to make wifi calls? I have a S10 (AT&T carrier version) that I would like to keep the wifi-calling and also enable the call and text on other devices feature. Any suggestions?
