I am no expert in photography, but I am a tech enthusiastic and I like what the Xperia 1 iii offers as a package.
I believe there are other people like me out there, so I want to share how/what I do to take good shots with this phone.
My previous phones are:
Galaxy S20
Pixel 6
Photo Pro app:
I use the app on Basic mode.
I use this original app for shooting pics on a sunny day, with abundant light.
This is the only app usable for video and pic shooting using the front face camera.
Gcam port app:
MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV1u_MGC.apk
drive.google.com
If the lighting condition is any different from a sunny summer day, I would rather use this app than the original Sony app.
I tried many different ports and the one above mentioned is the most functional one. Still, video record with any camera and front facing camera pics crash with all tested Gcam ports.
Video Pro port app:
Videography Pro 1.0.A.0.25 (Android 11+) APK Download by Sony Mobile Communications - APKMirror
Videography Pro 1.0.A.0.25 (Android 11+) APK Download by Sony Mobile Communications - APKMirror Free and safe Android APK downloads
www.apkmirror.com
Used to record videos with the 16, 24 and 70 leaves.
Settings I use: WB, ISO and Shutter on Auto and 4K 30fps with Stabilization On.
You can also record at 4K 120fps but with no stabilization.
I found this app a lot easier to use than the Cinema Pro app that comes with the phone.
I can post some sample comparison pics later on if people are interested.
Might want to have a look at pro cam X i use that to record when becuse the video can be to darkI was able to get it for free not sure if it still is

Thanks for the tip, I tried the ProCam X Lite.
But I found the Sony Video Pro port to be the best one by far.

Photo Pro - Basic mode
Gcam 8.1 port
iPhone 13 Pro
You could also try open camera it's hard to explain like I just have a lamp on in living room and it's very dark but if I use other app it brightens it up I'll try upload a pic to show what I mean
This is pro cam X the dark one was photo pro but updated from cda that someone posted Xperia 1 iii app as you can see very dark
It wouldn't surprise me if the entire Alpha team rage-quits because Sony Mobile keeps saying "Alpha" in their Xperia phone marketing.
True I figured it was shutter speed 1.30 or was 30s so if I want to use video in dark I had have like use 2 different apps

Was wondering if there is any app similar to SIMPLY HDR available for iOS. I kinda like the effect it gives the photos and it's widely used on Instagram too. The closest I've come to this is using Picsart with the 'FATTAL' filter, but that takes a while to process. Any alternatives?

I've tried those apps but they don't give a similar effect as Simply HDR. The effect is less pronounced. And you're right, I'm looking for a faux HDR not a real HDR app. If you open up the link I posted you will see more of the effect I'm talking about.

Did you ever find an app like simply HDR?
i use pixlr-o-matic
Hi all
I'm looking for a camera app better than the one that is installed from sony.
I know that sony did not implement the camera 2 api but the pictures taken with their camera app appears blur, washed, and in general poor quality.
So I'm waiting for your experience...:fingers-crossed:
Thanks
François
I've tried a few Camera apps, but I don't think I've found one that gives better result.
As far as I'm concerned the picture quality is okay, just make sure to keep your hands steady and wait for a few seconds because this phone does have shutter lag.
If you want to shoot faster, as long as you're in good lighting condition, use the Manual mode, choose Sports scene, that'll shorten the shutter lag a little.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
There is NOTHING wrong with the camera or the default software.
Quality is great, you just have to know how to use a camera, use of iso, shutter speed, etc...
I think image quality is great and I'm quite happy to post several shots should you wish.

Hi
I can confirm that FreeDcam (special build made by defcomg) allows the Xperia C5 ultra dual (E5533) to shoot in raw and save pictures as dng. Those dng pictures can be processed with Lightroom, Rawtherapee or Photoshop to get the best of the raw picture. :victory:
Here is the link of FreeDcam thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/camera-freedcam-4-0-3-t3115548
and see from post #37 on page 4. The right released apk is linked on post #57 in page 6. Some minors problems stays there but overall job is well done.
Thanks to defcomg for his quick job and the quality of the result.:good:
François
Should you know how to take pictures, the C5 Ultra is a very capable camera and takes excellent pictures. Here are several recent ones taken:

Heyy guys, Today I'm gonna post about a dissapointing fact about my S9+. Post could be little long, I'm kind of hoping for your patience!! Thanks In Advance.
.
I have been buying mid-budget phones giving camera the priority. After Nokia X2-00, Sony Ericsson K790, Walton Primo ZX3, Mi 8 SE, Now I have switched to S9+ (Snapdragon)
.
My expression on the stock camera of S9+ is somewhat between to to ☹
Let me clarify, The default camera; on enough lighting; takes decent photos, not gonna lie. and thanks to large f1.5 aperture, low light captures are pretty good too! Then why the frown face?
.
It's about the Raws I capture! As a smartphone camera enthusiast, I always try to capture raw files and edit it in Lightroom for better processing. The screenshots attached in this post, the red-rectengular-marked options is from MI 8 SE of a third party app, the clean screenshots are of S9+
.
Let me explain what is happening here. In my rooted Mi 8 SE, i have enabled full camer2api support and used a third party app to capture Raws. That app has expanded the options extensively and given me the full control of options, like ISO(50-6400 fractioned); Shutter(1/50000 to 35s) and so on with capability of capturing raws(dng) somewhat like a DSLR

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
.
But even though camera compatibility shows an enabled camera2api defaultly, My S9+ is unable to provide manual options in third party apps. I can't even control the ISO or Shutter speed, let alone capturing Raws using third party apps
. And that's where is my disappointment.
.
There's is a Raw option in Pro mode in S9+ I know but that really SUCKS, yeah, SUCKS compared to Raw I have captured by Mi 8 SE using Open Camera app, that's so true. Only ISO between 50-800 and shutter speed between 1/10000 to 10s is not enough from me
.
So my question is, Is this possible that these third party apps can't give me full supports because they can't get the root access? I'm gonna root my S9+ (snapdragon), but before this I just wanna know if this works. So have anyone rooted your snapdragon version S9+?
.
Thanks again for your patience. There's Gcam for Raw capturing but Gcam doesn't give me as much flexibility as Open Camera app does!
Have a nice dayy, guys.

Works for me. Go to Camera settings, there might one option that creates this bug
Hello,
I recently moved from Android One to One UI 5.1.
Mi A2 Lite to S23 Ultra
The recent button in One UI has only one option: Close All
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The recent button in Android One, however, has three options: Clear All, Lens, and Screenshot
And that Lens option is magic. Because in whatever application you are, you can use that to translate, search, ... in that screen.
Could we add this option to the recent button of the S23 Ultra?
Or is any workaround to run Google Lens on One UI such that we can use its abilities?
The only possible way I found was to take a screenshot and open it in Lens which is very annoying since I have to take a screenshot and delete it after say translating the text inside it.
I also have the same need, but there is really nothing I found.
Maybe you could try Bixby vision that is more integrated in the one UI
I loved this lens function on my pixel 6 A simple way to save photos without taking a screenshot. I miss this feature in Galaxy S23 Ultra :/
Highly desireable feature, I also moved from a pixel 7 pro and extensively used Google lens for copying text from pics & such and the smart select function on one ui is not nearly as good!

I tried that but it's not comparable to Lens at all.

I was living in Brazil so I have always been using Lens to translate new words or phrases besides its other options. Now I moved to Germany and I need it more

There should be a workaround to use Lens in One UI.
We need pixel launcher port
I have google lens installed on my S23U and its working, if you dont have it, maybe try to download it from the play store?

It's already installed but not integrated as in aosp roms. You have to take a screenshot and then go to lens and find that screenshot. Then you're able to translate or copy a text inside that photo.

You can share the screenshot with lens, it's faster
