General Pixel 6 Beta March Update (QPR) Is Out (S3B1.220218.004) - Google Pixel 6

QPR (S3B1.220218.004)
~180mb on my Pixel which was on 12L Beta 2
Is available OTA.
Will be posting back with any bugs found
Thanks Lughnasadh for clarifying this is not another 12L beta, just that 12L beta participants are rolled to the QPR program rather than stable

I am so confused now I though 12L beta ends with March. But yet another beta was pushed.
Will take time to understand this new pattern

Yeah it looks like this is not the final version. Mine is only 180 mb. The other pixels got over 300mb. But that could also be because some of the features are already on this device and now the other pixels are getting them.

Will take time to understand this new patterill tell you one thing for sure. I would rather 5hem push out a partial update and have my phone still work than them rush out a full update that they are unsure of and breaks important things like cell phone service.

This kind of explains it. Basically 3 channels right now.
1. 12L/12.1 (Stable)
2. QPR Betas (Quarterly Platform Releases/Feature Drops)
3. Developer Previews for Android 13

They are basically just adding another channel so those who want to can test the Feature Drops before they are released. I assume they will be releasing monthly QPR Betas until the next one is stable (June).

I went ahead and updated, has the March 5 security patches, so far no issues with WiFi.
Too early to say if battery is any worse/better (I got lucky with Feb 12L Beta 2, had no battery issues on that one)

Root working fine for me. Passing safetynet with USNF.

Well, this QPR is just 12.0 so we'll still have to wait & see if 12.1 fixes Mobile Network battery drain, etc?

Hoping for the random battery drain and Wi-Fi fix, was on regular 12 since only got my phone 2 weeks ago.

This is 12.1 June. It should include the 12L code. The labeling is just confusing as hell. Google has made this impossible to figure out.
The Android beta program is basically rolling release for Pixels now.

Yeah so now you can be on a beta build year round is what it looks like. But I was on beta 3 and got this new update this morning it was only 180mb. The other pixels got over 300mb. And my phone does not seem to have any of the feature drop stuff at all. I don't even have the new battery widget or the at a glance battery info. And it reports being on Android 12 not 12.1 so it seems like this new beta is just a baseline build. I do not see anything different at all. Not a thing. My cell.service.is.still atrocious at work but appears to be better at home so I don't know. I 5hinkni. Going to just unenroll in the beta program and see what they give me.

I'm on 12L beta 3 (S2B3.220205.007.A1), rooted bis Despair-kernel.
My phone shows the OTA, but installation aborts, cause I'm rooted.
--> How can I upgrade? Has anyone a non-rooted boot.img for the 12L beta 3 so I could flash it and take the OTA?

Any changelog available ?

The AOKP goodness that you've always known
now for our phone!
Special thanks goes out to Team AOKP for putting this awesome rom together for us to play with!
I hate making these threads, but anyone who has been around for a short amount of time knows what AOKP is all about so I will leave it at that. The old Rom Control is there with all of the available mods, and everything seems to be working just fine with the phone moving right along.
Here is what you need to do:
1. Reboot into TWRP
2. Make a backup (I don't wanna be blamed for crap)
3. Wipe everything except your internal storage and external sd card (or if you wanna do a full wipe, knock yourself out)
4. Install AOKP (link below)
5. Install Gapps (opengapps works good)
6. Flash Magisk for root.
7. Reboot and enjoy!
Grab the latest AOKP here (12/17/17):

And last but not least, the sources:

I am on official moto android 7.0, can i flash this rom without changing to mm modem??

I just got this phone last week, coming from a OnePlus for a few years, so I'm still learning the ins and outs of it. I don't know what base firmware it has, but the baseband version on mine is m8992_1255331.29.01.88.02r if that helps you.

I really like lockscreen short cuts, I use them a lot and its the only thing that has kept me away from Dirty Unicorn
I've been using this ROM for 4 days now. It's definitely one of the best. I'd place it in the top 3 for me, alongside GZR and AICP. Thank you for making this.
I have noticed much better battery life than other ROMs, but idk if it's the ROM or that I haven't installed a few particular apps. In any case, very smooth, very stable and it seems to have significantly less memory usage than any other ROM.
Any chance of getting the October security update in the next release? (If there is going to be another release that is)

wouldn't it be prudent to wait until at least 1st of May? People who participated in the closed beta are still under an NDA. also, consider that a developer in our community has the files necessary for proper oreo implementation. there is no need to rush things, we will have oreo soon regardless of what zte decides to do with the update.
ZTE does not have the ability to decide anything at all.
Globally and locally
all official ZTE downoad links are removed.
ZTE banned from using US-based hardware or software
https://www.androidauthority.com/zte-ban-855747/
P.S.
We are ZTE phone users.
We want Official Oreo for our phones.
Someone, please upload this Oreo ROM.
You don't know that the US ban will affect in any way the Oreo release. We may or may not get it this month. As the previous user said, just wait until the end of the months at least. The beta testers are under NDA, and even with ZTE troubles, I doubt any individual would risk a law suit against a (still big firm)
Any way we have waited this long, we can wait a bit more, most likely the ROM is already on an advanced stage, I don't see why they would throw it all to the bin because of the US thing. Most likely they are on the last certification stage and Google approval for release anyway.. that's how I would interpret the end of the beta testing
I maybe wrong, but you asking for an upload will not get anything done... just wait mate, and if you really want Oreo on your phone go check the Devs section

Thanks for your positive energy.
I hope we will normally get the official Oreo update for our phones.

Last hope remains that one of the participants of Oreo Test Group,
will help us with Oreo ROM upload.

Thats not fully true. Only the german website (and maybe others for the G version) have them down currently.
The us downloads are still online:
https://www.zteusa.com/axon-7#support
Also the german forums "zte key master" said its due to a technical issues that the downloads disappeared.
Although its weird since the downloads are just hidden by html code. You can read about it in this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ax...ompanies-selling-to-zte-t3778509/post76266159
So im skeptical if its really a "technical issue".
But we gotta wait and see and hope for the best ;D

The rom is already compressed in edl. But without zte's permission it will not be published.
The Stock+ Oreo update has been certified before the US crap that unloaded on ZTE and it's due to release until the end of April. This is only true for A2017U on which the public beta has indeed ended. Release imminent.

So, Sir this means A2017U users will surely get the Oreo update in April!!!
ZTE Oreo Beta program is over
A member of XDA has had the Oreo update for the A7 for a long time now.
They were going to release it as soon as ZTE released the official Oreo build.
I guess they are getting tired of waiting on ZTE.
I don't blame them if they do leak it early.
I don't think it'll get leaked early until they know for sure whether or not ZTE is going to release it.

Experiments with 9.0 build - G8342 Only

I built 9.0 a couple days ago just because science and all that stuff. Observations.
The version of AOSP I built is: android-9.0.0_r6 :: G8342 Only
I built a regular version then I built another version with opengapps micro package built-in.
What I've noticed so far: Dual SIMs issue just like my other 8.0 build, unfortunately again. Only 1 sim is available.
Don't forget your OEM file.
Software binaries for AOSP Oreo (Android 8.1) – Kernel 4.9 – Yoshino
Software binaries for AOSP Oreo (Android 8.1) – Kernel 4.4 – Yoshino
I can make phone calls with sim1 just fine. Camera works but @ 17MP, obviously AOSP builds so no green images(Open Devices).
I'll post some images now.

That is true. I remember flashing and booting all 3 OEM files, if it doesn't boot on your end just go back to fastboot and flash the other.
But as stated, be aware that it's all beta even though the device was actually usable. Maybe 9.0(Pie) is closer to final by now but there are bugs.

Now I'm not even sure anymore that all oem booted. I'll try again tonight, my shell timeline shows all oems were flashed.
But I'm glad this is still beta, bugs are getting squashed.

Yes
I am on MIUI 12 running Android 10, didn't unlock bootloader yet nor any custom recovery. I used to install custom roms back in 2012 when Xolo Q800 was launched. Is there an easy way to get up and running with this ROM here? (Really excited to use this)
I will appreciate if community can point me in the right direction which is easy for me to grasp (I know how recoveries work - but it's just that I am doing this after a gap of 8 long years)
Great rom at the first sight . Good work and face unlock is working i like it

MegaThread was super confusing. Honest feedback. Its making me more paranoid than confident.
I found this video on Youtube which says New Method and meant for people on Miui Android 10.
Can you please tell me what extra (or different) steps I need to take in order to get to this ROM here in this thread?
Very smooth, no issues so far. One thing though, in the "What's working" list, the OP listed FM Radio, but there is no FM Radio App in the ROM or am I missing something?
Anyway, thanks for a great ROM even though it's just an initial/early build.
@prateek.khurana31 I just followed the steps here as listed on the Megathread (CFW Migration Steps), using method 2. Went from stock Global ROM A10 to this in just a few minutes.

Unfortunately, can't use Google Pay with this rom as it fails CTS tests. Not a huge issue but would be happy if can be fixed.

Change FP using Hide props to Pixel 4A
Then you'll not get any random reboots.

And i need a Million Dollar.
Well if that sounded entitled I'm sorry. I'm just frustrated that I missed school after the phone shat itself in the middle of the night and the alarm didn't go off.

Which ROM caused that issue? I also had this issue with ROMs where phone would turn off in the night and miss alarms. In latest A11 ArrowOS, that doesn't happen anymore.

It was WaveOS. I flashed it back in September and it was perfectly stable. For reasons unknown to me, it progressively got more and more unstable. Dismissing media playback notifications and turning the screen off in quick succession would make the phone completely unresponsive. I could live with that. After all, I was just waiting for stable A12 roms...
But the final nail in the coffin was the issue i talked about. I watched some videos before bed and turned my screen off at around 12.20 a.m. In the morning, the alarm didn't go off and I noticed that the phone somehow reverted the time back to 11.16 p.m. and got stuck like that. Hard reset solved it but it was too late at that point.
This rom is pretty solid so far!! TWRP works, and GAPPS are super fast. Looking forward to future updates!!

Tried installing again, and making phone calls do not work!! Please FIX, and i'm unable to go to previous AOSP rom due to error 1. Please any help or suggestions?? I had to switch to an other rom with the december update. Not sure what the issue was?

Flash stock miui with mi flash tool. Skip thru setup. Just to get into phone.do normal steps to flash rom. This will fix these errors when switching between particular ROMs.

That's overkill. I just switched TWRP and error 1 disappeared.
