Just picked one up for my brother friday for $1.00. Very nice device all around!!
I got mine today at the Verizon store only to come home and see the ad. However I also got the LG 8.3 tablet for free through the promotion. So Im not too upset by it
I picked mine up last week on the Edge program and with my Corp discounts plus Verizon giving me $15.00 a month towards it I only pay $4.79 a month. Not bad and to still be off contract, plus being able to also upgrade in a year.
Picked up my three G3's last week from amazon wireless for only a penny each with a two year contract.
So how does this compare to the Galaxy S5 in terms of development? Thinking of making the switch while it's cheap, due for an upgrade in two weeks and I don't think that Verizon is going to include the Nexus 6 in upgrades... hope so but if not thinking about the LG G3. Appears this phone has working AOSP, something the S5 will never have..
I got the "new" Blaze Red edition for free thanks to the Cyber Monday sale yesterday!! It showed up at the house today so I can't wait to go home and root, TWRP it and enjoy all of it's awesomeness tonight!

The only reason you won't be able to get the N6 in a couple weeks is because it won't be out for VZ until early 2015.
Personally I got the G3 when it came out by preorder. Loved it a ton. Then I started eyeballing the Note 4 and made the switch.
Just returned my Note 4 because of TouchWiz and now I'm back on the G3
I was able to get the phone for $30 yesterday and received it today in the mail. Got the blaze red model and it's pretty sweet
I went online and got the red G3's for 3 lines free with $150 credit for each line, thats $450 credit with 25% discount on moto 360 and cases. win! win! Also ordered iflash 3 pack tempered glass screens for $9.99. not bad.

do you have any idea when the nexus 6 is supposed to be out for verizon? i can't find any info but i think that's most suited to my needs. i've heard lg is like google in terms of allowing rooting and such though so i dunno

The Moto rep at work told us early 2015 so that's all that I know. VZ didn't want it competing with the Droid Turbo's launch.
anybody bought one recently for $30 with the offer of the free LG Gpad tablet? I can't really find good information on it? Does anyone know if you have to activate the tablet or not?
nevermind: i went through checkout have to activate a new line on tablet which is $10 a month access fee plus another $30 activation fee. deciding whether I want it or not.
I picked up a G3 for my daughter last Friday for FREE from Radio Shack. All I had to pay was taxes. She is LOVING the G3 (coming from an HTC EVO on Sprint) all her friends at school (8th grader) love using her phone to take pics.. I have the G3 on Verizon. I also got the LG G Pad 8.3 for free when I got my G3. Having a tablet with a Sim card is actually pretty nice. I take it with me on many occasions and it comes in handy.

The damn phone is on backorder every where in the US at least. Looked online at amazon and eBay's uk sites and they don't even have any period. Not sure if the phone has even hit Europe yet. I've been holding out for the 6GB model but I am tired of my GS6 Edge and it's broken screen and my backup phone is like a 2013 Moto x and yeah it sucks.
I'm pretty sure, I don't think om understand how much people will buy their stuff if they quit messing around and actually make an excellent product.
Heard from ZTE stock is ready, should be back on sale very very soon!
They have been in business since 1985. I am pretty sure this was a marketing ploy used to generate interest and demand for their product. It is human nature to want what we cannot have. Just be patient.

Well it was first released in the Chinese market. From what I can tell, due to carriers and a bunch of restrictions with selling stuff in the US, some companies are very cautious. First Axon needed to test the waters with a lower scale launch.
Also don't hate on the OG Moto X. It's seriously one of the best devices ever, up there with the Nexuses.
I'm glad I pre-ordered for the first run. This is one of the best phone values I've had in a long time, comparable to the Oneplus One when it released. Keep the prices low and specs high, engage the xda community, keep the warranty, and I will continue to be a customer.
I think it should be getting MORE attention. It is time the big name brands take a hit in their pricing and provide affordable flagships, however they need to do s, otherwise I will continue to buy the high value chinese brands.

I agree, for $400 (especially + giftcard and headphones) its a great deal. The two major cons of the device are the reception, and camera. Minor quirks with software can be fixed, and the capacitive button locations can be gotten used to. As a device I'd give it a 7.5/10, as a device that costs $400, 8.8/10. I am still surprised that it has an s6's amoled, audio that is easily top 3, etc. To me, the only thing that is making me question this phone is the reception, other than that I am completely happy with it even with the other issues.
Galaxy Note 7 on back order also so cut ZTE some slack. I can name several flagship phones that sold out or back ordered in the first month or 2 and no one lost their mindss like people are doing with ZTE.
ZTE just told me that the phone came to the USA market officially before the EU market so the USA version may seem better than EU.
The Official EU release is coming very soon though this month it looks like.
They promise that they provide good service to all users around the world and not just the USA

Dude, "good service" for me includes unlockable bootloader for everybody, not just americans. Ordering a oneplus 3 next week, once the graphite color is available. Gold is ugly as hell. Don't only women buy gold phones? I only have seen women and gay dudes with gold phones
I received my ZTE Axon 7 Gold Colour today in Frankfurt, Germany.
I ordered on the 31st of August and picked it up at Media Market this afternoon (02.09.)
It was sold out in a day once it appeared on the German price comparison website idealo.
I am loving the sleek build of the phone so far and its speed but funny enough, the listening sound appears to be too low even on high volume and I cannot find any theme store anywhere as the stock UI is ugly as hell.
I will keep going through it to see its strength and weaknesses.

What are the versions available in the EU or UK market?
I'm planning to buy a Chinese version, 4GB+128GB for about 2900RMB, 330 GBP, during my China trip later this month. But I'm slightly concerned that I wont be receiving OTA updates for EU markets afterwards.

OTA updates aren't based on where you currently are located. They're based on the region of the device. A Chinese A7 will only be getting the Chinese OTAs.

I think this may be like the OnePlus One in that it's an exceptional package for the price. The Axon 8 or whatever going forward will likely have less bang for buck as with OnePlus Two/X because of demand.
I'm hoping that for once being an early adopter (albeit waiting 6 weeks) will pay off with a phone that I will get a good two-three years out of.

my local best buy has the grey version in stock today, less than 3. im really contemplating exchanging my nexus 6p for it. its a tough decision because i love android 7.0 but the battery life and lcd is subpar on the 6p. your getting more bang for buck with the axon. the only concern i have is getting ota updates and any rom development.

If you go to the local ZTE USA website, you can order the phone. According to their website and this device will ship prior to 9/9. That is but a few days, but since they already know when it will shipband this has been on their site for several weeks, this was probably a marketing ploy more than likely. The hope to be to increase demand by reducing supply. I am quite sure, this company of professionals, that has been in business since 1985, did not make a rookie mistake like this.

I suspect that Best Buy is getting first dibs on the latest batch, possibly to make up for not receiving any units from the August batch (they all went to ZTE/Newegg/B&H and some to Amazon).

Picked up my Grey from BestBuy yesterday from pre-order. The retail launch ones are supposed to go on sale later this week.
I managed to get the grey one today at a Best Buy 45 miles from me, they only had one and no idea when or if the store will get more stock.
It's mighty nice though, I bought to replace my Note 7, seems much faster
Can't find any comparisons. Had anyone owned both devices? What are your thoughts? Battery life is not really a concern as most of my time is spent in my car.
If you wan't a relatively cheap phone with good specs, go for the One P3, but i can guarantee you that you will find no better quality of a high-end phone with AMOLED and very good specs ALONG with the Moto Mods this year. I first wanted to go for the One P3, as my previous Note 4 went "poof", but when i saw that the Moto Z existed and what it had in comparison to the One P3, i rather payed a little more for a very well done phone with the awesome Moto Mods, which you clearly cannot find on any other phone right now, and not nearly as well done. If you can, go for the Moto Z.
I have owned a op3 and have the t model on the way. I was a Moto x user for every generation and loved the devices. Currently using a pixel and am less than impressed with it. Just thinking it might be time to come back to Moto.
OP3 is good, but you can't even compare it the Moto Z. The only thing OP3 beats moto is the battery, and it's not your concern. So go for Moto.
I would normally say op3 for value, but for Black friday, (I am assuming you are in the states) Best buy is offering the moto z droid edition for a payment plan of $9.99 a month for 24 months for a grand total of $240. No contract just sign up for any plan. I signed up for the cheapest $35 a month 2gb plan with a $20 a month line activation fee. Thats a total of $55 a month. If you find that ridiculous like I did, pay off the phone for the aforementioned total of $240 and then you can cancel the plan without incurring any charges (have to cancel within 3 days). I bought the phone on Tuesday and canceled service on Wednesday lol. You will be refunded the initial $55 for the plan that you had to pay for the first month of service. Be aware that there is no band 12 for the droid edition but it is unlocked out the box. I am currently using it for tmobile perfectly fine. Depending on your area, band 12 may or may not be an issue. But you could always flip it and get a 1+3 if you dont like it or get poor coverage.
I bought the Phone for full price without any stupid contract for 700 USD here in Norway (keep in mind exchange rates compared to value, it might seem expensive, but here it is not). I did NOT go for the Force or Droid (Play, i meant Play) variant, just the normal Moto Z, and i am happy about that because as far as i know, the Force cannot be rooted and the neither can any of the Droid variants.
Go for the Moto Z, i think you won't regret it. The Pixel or Pixel XL are both overpriced Google brand phones clearly not worth their prices, and i think that the best AOSP phone with most value out there is the Moto Z. It is not all too expensive, has the Moto Mods expansions and is better than the One P3 and way cheaper than the overpriced Google Pixels.
I really do NOT recommend buying the Hasselblad Camera Mod. You should first watch some reviews about it on YouTube, but it seems to be a very bad Camera. It has optical zoom, but that is about it. The images really aren't that great compared to the stock phone camera.

I did some research, but it looks like there's no bundle this year and the options for a "deal" are pretty much limited to the Trade-In program (available almost everywhere) and the $100 off available only at BestBuy (but with a new activation).
Any other option that I've missed?

They prep the phone to avoid region unlock when you turn it on here - great service - I got my note 8 there and have ordered my S9 Plus there too

I don't think you can get the Exynos version in the use due to the region lock.
But you can get it from the UK. See Geekser's post.

I just checked how much it would be in $ without any eventual customs fees and it comes down to 743.17quid which is $1021.09! Haha! I just refuse to pay 1k for a phone, even if I could run vSphere on it!

I ordered my NOte 8 from them and when the phone shipped to me via DSL I did not have to pay any customs fees. Regarding the cost - in my view, to buy a samsung phone Like the S9 Plus that I can root and run custom roms - well - it's worth the price to me. Even though it does cost more than the Snapdragon phones sold here in the states - custom kernels will never be possible on those phones - so to me - its worth the additional cost.

Will project treble help with timely updates for the unlocked? I'd rather purchase the unlocked over a carrier bloated 9/9+

That's a good point and it makes sense, but I still think is too much for a phone that has a lifespan less than a year.

My wife says I am addicted to my phone and I think she is right. I have purchsed every Flagship Samsung has launched since the note 2. Every one of them. I typically buy them when they are released on Pre-Order and then sell my old phone to a friend or through Swappa. (I sell them at a good price - that is fair to both me and the buyer - and they end up getting an incredible deal - damn near new phone - in pristine condition - usually with a few accessories thrown in too. And I get excited every time a new phone comes out. I love toys - and I am really excited to play around with the S9 Plus. '
My Behaviour may end up sending me to the poor house - but then, it's only money. and you can't take it with you. LOL
by ordering Unlocked variant from Samsung US do you know if device will be fully unlocked OOTB or just need a sort of Activation on the first boot ?

I noticed in ur sig you have the note 8 and pixel 2 xl. How do they compare battery life wise? I have the pixel 2 xl and I'm thinking about getting the s9+. Kinda craving some more features. How smooth is the note 8 on oreo? :victory::silly:

Actually no. I have one on an existing line and new line I still got the $100 credit toward each phone.
Only reason i know this is Wife has an existing line and was going to get an S8+ but the deals went out on that, at least right now, so temporarily I have a S9+ on pre-order just in case I can't get one.

I could get mine from the store or shipped to my place. I opted for the store since its right down the street from my work so makes it easy to nab it.
That was for both Unlocked or Carrier Locked phones.

I actually sold the Pixel XL about a month after buying it. I missed the Camera on my S8 and then Note 8. Pixel battery was good I guess, about the same as my Note 8 - it was a good phone but I don't think it was as good as either the S8 PLus or the NOte 8, IMHO
I just ordered my s9 plus from Samsung, and Im on Verizon so I'm hoping I have no issues with the unlocked version.
I was going to upgrade if there was a good bundle. I was really hoping for a Dex pad since the new version costs what the VR kit once did. But, I've always wanted to try a Note and my S8+ is doing fine. It was getting that mystery lag, but a recent hard reset seems to have fixed that.
If a great deal comes along, maybe I'll upgrade.
Okay, i'm not new to this site, i have an old account owned a HTC EVO 4g, yeah super old.. lol but i just sold my iphone 6s plus, now i'm kinda on a budget i can.. but i don't really wanna blow an extra 100$ if its not completely worth it, i'm on the fence for a Samsung galaxy s7 edge (Which i like the design alot) its going for $199.99 for certified pre-owned, and the galaxy s8 (which i reallly dont wanna spend the $299.99) for a certified pre-owned... now. if they both are really the same besides the 3,600 mah and 3,000 mah battery, should i just save my buck and get the s7 and eventually get the s9? please help... i got till tomorrow morning to decide

I owned both the s7 edge and note 8, both att us models. The s7sdge can be temp rooted and the note could be rooted but lost 20 percent battery from rooting but only on old firnware. Unless you are buying an exnos model do not expect root or much development ever since Samsung locked down the bootloader on all us carriers. Got fee up with samcrap and am on a OnePlus 6t now which can be rooted out the box. There is not much different between the s7edge and the side though.
