Board info?!
In app manager system info the mainboard identifies as MSD6886. This one is slightly different in terms of port layout as if it was the upgrade version. But that board has a service manual and bootloader/layout stuff applies. https://www.manualslib.com/products/Hisense-Msd6886-10481497.html
The uart on that board is the headphone jack which isn't present on this TV. Maybe it has to be soldered.

Has anyone gotten any farther with this or any other mstar based TVs? Tried more malwareish programs like kingroot? What's worth trying next?
If the bootloader can be unlocked a backup could be made and it might just be a matter of adding magisk binary for all of that receiver/service disabling goodness.
Maybe one day we can compile a rom for it.

Did unlocking reset to factory defaults? I should unlock mine now that its not going to brick.
We can try to boot generic recoveries through fastboot until we get one that works and then dump the MTD partitions, edit and flash back.

I have a Hisense 43A6H and its bootloader unlocked it was easy just had to load the drivers in bootloader mode and fastboot flashing unlock worked and yes IT WIPES THE TV but patching my boot.img never works, well it patches successful on some but not all magisk versions and flashing is a success in bootloader fastboot but it did not root the tv so its not working for some reason on my tv, as its android 11.

FYI,
I've tried uot.dakra.lt UOT Kitchen couple times so far and have been ale to change the font of the device and the color of the glow for overscrolling but my time and other icons up in the status bar disappeared (the "AT&T" still shows up there though). The Backup and Restore in CWM does work nicely though to get me back to before I installed the zip from UOT Kitchen. I'll try 1 mod at a time using UOT kitchen and see which is making the icons and time disappear from my status bar.
EDIT: I did notice one issue with CWM backups. The backup I did today saved the folder name as "1970-02-22.03.14.56". Some reason the date is wrong in the file naming, should have started with "2012-04-13", right?

For those having trouble with a missing driver I followed the below instructions and installed PDAnet (I did so while in fastboot mode so I could see the drivers install) as soon as it installed and the drivers showed installed. I went back and uninstalled pdanet (leaving the needed drivers behind)

Be sure to download two programs PDANet and USBView (which you may not really need but it's a nice little program).
It's suppose to be "stupid easy" to root PANETCH Burst, but who ever said that left out that it's not so easy if you don't have all the proper driver on your computer. Anyway, so soon after the fastboot mode is brought up, you should notice the computer is telling you a new hardware is found. This is when the burst switches from PANTECH's ADB driver to something else, and only way for the command "fastboot boot prestoroot.img" to work is to find the proper driver for the new hardware call "Android" in the device manager. Now you want to install PDANet, and as soon as the installation process begin, it'll find the driver for the device "Android." and install the driver for you. Once the driver is installed, the installation process will tried to install whole bunch other things into your phone, but I really don't think it can install them in fastboot mode, so you'll probably want to terminate the process. Now type command "fastboot devices" and you should see some kind of output telling you that it's recognize the "Android" device. Now, and only now you can follow the rest of "stupid easy" rooting instruction.

they were asking if any of the software we are using would work on a mac. the answer is yes depending on what software you are refering too. the pantech suite (which has been useless to me with the exception it installed the drivers for me) is windows only. I had actually gotten the drivers originally at work by using pda net. The information I gave above is what I came up with after a quick google search. Q&A for Bootloader unlock
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for Bootloader unlock. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.

You don't need fastboot cable--they don't work with our device. You might have said No to installing device drivers with the 15-Second installer. Maybe adb is working because its dlls are in the adb dir. I'd try running the installer again, but you may need Fire-compatible driver, idk. That's all I've got. Good luck.

They do work with our device, I have the soho. You use it to restore the soho with Firerooter. I have ran the installer I don't know how many times and I am pretty sure the drivers are installed. The two drivers I have in device manager are:
Android Device -> Android Composite ADB Interface
Portable Devices -> Fire
Everytime I issue the command it just goes straight back to the OS. I don't understand? Unless it has to be some other USB. I am using my front USB panel and I do have an intel chipset but I am on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. The only other usb device I see is USB Composite Device. But that can't be the driver for fastboot can it?

Oh, good grief! No, "our" device is 2014 Fire HD, not soho. No wonder the confusion.
Yes, FB cable required for soho. Get one and then go to G+ KFSOWI modding and follow their install guide to update both adb and FB drivers. Guide tells you how to connect cable for fastboot mode. Be aware that the bootloader unlock process here was not written for soho and probably hasn't been tested on it. Please post any further questions at KFSOWI site. thx

Hey colleagues,
I've a hardware device (no phone) that includes some kind of a MediaTek tablet with a MT8167 and Android 8.1 installed on it.
Currently I try to enable ADB in order to intercept some network traffic flows with custom apps I'd like to install.
Unfortunately the device is running a System.User App with no chance to escape.
I was able to dump the entire memory including all partitions. Then I tried to change the default props (adb enable, etc...) in the img and did a re-flash. The device boots into safe mode - but is stuck there.
I've seen that dm-verity is enabled / Android Verified 1.0 (not 2.0). So I tried to magisk on another arm Device and updated the boot.img. Unfortunately that lead to an ininite boot loop.
Do you guys have any other ideas?
I've physical access to the device and I am able to flash images back to the device.
Any help would be appreciated.

So my company sent me a VR headset for development. I tried to update it, but upon doing so, it produced an error and bricked the VR headset. The customer support isn't helping at all, so I'm thinking of just flashing it myself (I'm new to this,).
I tried doing a factory reset, but it only showed me "No command" and reboots again. It has no SD card, and ADB can't recognize the device. The bootloader says it's locked, so I'm pretty sure it's almost impossible for me to crack it. The OS is available on the website, but again, it's almost impossible for me to replace the OS without the SD card and having it recognized by ADB.
If it's not possible to flash it, is there anything interesting I could do with it?

they really dont exist because of what pico is using they are using old nexus 5 drivers for the pico recovery. and that is terrible. the best thing to do is download and install ubuntu on a spare pc. once its on the spare pc you will need to setup adb there. ince you have adb there you can run the normal adb sideload in recovery.
fyi you have 2 different kinds of headsets this is why it may or maynot fail at recovery.
pico has oem and non oem firmware and lucky we have access to this on the pico 3 website where the downloads are. the pico 3 pro on there is non oem firmware and the pico 3 link is oem firmware.
the best thing to do after this or if you need more help find my you tu be channel and contact me there i hardly check xda
What a crazy few days it's been.
This phone is really locked down hard by vodaphone.
I need to root it in order to install the full NetHunter suite. Some features are not available if the phone is not rooted. ie adding another wifi adapter that supports packet injection and monitor mode.
So my 1st move was Frija, and odin. This nearly bricked my device. Got it restored and went with the magisk route.
This is kind of where I'm stuck. fastboot. I did adb reboot-bootloader and it just sits on this green text that says...
Entering fastboot...

Fastboot commands does not work. Obviously.
My 1st mission is to fastboot oem unlock.
So I've read a few devices has fastboot disabled by the providers. ie vodaphone, or even samsung?
I've tried my google foo but found nothing of value for these parameters. note 10 lite, android 12, vodaphone.
What should my next angle be?

Solved the fastboot portion. But it would seem this phone is unrootable.
Bootloader is unlocked.
But no TWRP available:

Hello, I have successfully rooted a Samsung tablet without TWRP. After unlocking the bootloader, you need to use Frija to download the firmware file, and then you need to extract it. After that, you can send the AP partition file to your phone over adb, patch it in the Magisk app, and pull it back to your computer. From there you need to flash it in Odin, and do a factory reset from recovery mode. (When downloading the firmware file choose the correct model, software version, and CSC.) I can send a short video proof of the rooted tablet later when I get home from school)

Can you possibly point me to a writeup for edl and qfil?

So what you need to do is:
Install some drivers
Build an edl cable with an old USB cable to force it into edl without test point
And then download stock firmware and flash it in qfil

Would you be able to help me locate the stock rom? I have this gut feel this is why I'm bricking it all the time. Maybe Frija is grabbing the wrong image. Then when magisk patch it, the core is wrong, then it goes haywire

The only sticker on the box.
We can close this thread. I've come to the conclusion that the Note 10 Lite is a terrible platform to try and root. Virtually zero roms out there. Bricked it 3 times already.
Going to sell it, and try and get my hands on something like an old netbook
