Development Windows 11 Tiny/Lite Version Release Build #1 - Windows 11

I realize the download isn't working. I Apologize..
Please be patient and I will re-upload ASAP..
I'm super Busy at work and travel every week
Welcome
Windows 11 LTEx64
PLEASE READ BEFORE INSTALL
This is my version of Windows 11 Lite. Its basic, doesn't have any cool tweaks and or custom menu's quite yet. Its a rough draft if you will. This version should be de-bloated for the most part and has a few optimizations also. I'm only one single person working on this so it takes time to push it out with me working full time. With that being said, please let me know some ideas to play around with along as things you might would want to see inside in the future.

Lets begin with making sure you have a Virtual Machine setup correctly. I don't think I need to make a tutorial on how to do this as there are hundreds of videos on the internet of how to do this ! I recommend just using Virtual Box as this software is free and it works just fine.

VM Links
When setting up your VM, make sure you choose an option or options in the settings that allow drag-n-drop files between your current desktop and your VM or just use a USB Drive to transfer a browser setup to VM. I removed Microsoft Edge and there is no way to access the Internet unless you can drag-n-drop your preferred browser into the VM Like i said, this is a rough build as of now....

Bypass Check Fixes for Windows 11
1. Once you load up your VM into windows, go ahead and press Shift + F10 on your keyboard
2. Windows Command prompt should open up. Once that is loaded in, type regedit and press enter. This will open the Registry Editor.
3. Now navigate to HKEY LOCAL MACHINE / System / Setup
4. Once you find the setup folder, highlight it, right click and create a new Key called LabConfig.
( This is Case Sensitive! )
5. After creating your LabConfig Key file, go to the right hand pane, right click and create a new DWORD 32bit Value and name it BypassSecureBootCheck. Once created, open up the the BypassSecureBootCheck and give it a value of 00000001. That would be 7, zero's and a 1 on the end... then press enter
( This is case sensitive also )
6. Now, complete step 5 again but this time we will create the DWORD 32bit value and name it BypassTPMCheck. Give this the same value 00000001 as the other one we created...
7. Close the CMD and Regedit windows and continue your setup. You have he option to set up an offline account if you wish to do so FYI during the setup..!

Is it legal to modify the iso and distribute that version? I mean it won't contain a key, obviously, but still, Windows is not Open Source, maybe Microsoft will have an issue with that.

Its legal as far as I am concerned. I've made plenty of Windows 10 custom ISO files.
As far as distributing them, I am not releasing any version that is activated illegally nor am I asking for payment. If i were to ask for payments and claim it to be an OFFICIAL Microsoft product without their permission, then yes, It would be illegal
There are many people who release custom ISO files and cater to the people who want to get rid of the bloat and telemetry services that Microsoft so deeply embeds in the OS now

Okay, that's good. Next relevant questions: Will that stay out or be patched back in after 6 months with the first major update?

Depends on if I decide to push the update to this specific build. This is the first custom ISO I've made for windows 11 so far. I think after a few months I may reconsider fine tuning a major updated versions most likley. This is just the basics and test phase basically. I really want to make sure everything will work properly

You can make a custom installer That Will ignore the requirements.
Technicaly if you release your own version name it would make it ok.
Microsoft is on github so if you look harder you will find it is open source.

Yes. Windows store will still be included so far to answer your question. I will need to compile all the files after checking everything over before I send you a link. I do need to know if your PC is compatible already or do I need to include the bypasses for TMP, RAM, Secure Boot also. If you add cat photos, I won't be upset lol

For windows 11 I would need the tpm 2.0 bypass. I would like a legacy boot but can do the secure boot. ha Imagine when you click on the start button you hear a kitten mew. I also have a cat pointer for the mouse. also changing the windows Icon to a kitty could be fun mew haha.

OK sorry for such a long response. I've been so busy past couple weekends. I'll make sure to include bypasses you need

I will test as well. I'm so sick of Microsoft changing my windows to their liking. Is there any way u can or have bypassed this happening?

Yes. Still working on a stable release. I've tested in vm and something isn't right. Might just be VM I'm using

Awesome dude. I'm ready whenever you are.

Cannot use any of DCD's Kitchen's

Well, up until now, I have just used DCD's ROM's without customizing then, but I thought I would give the kitchen a shot. So, I downloaded DCD's latest and greatest kitchen of v3.2.2, also downloaded the .Net 2.0 link EXE fil from his page and tried to install it (cause you need it to run the kitchen) but I get an error, says that it is "incompatible with the previously installed version of .net"
so, i tried uninstalling all my .net stuff in add/remove, rebooting, and installing this, and still wont let me. i tried windows update and updated to 3.5, had 1.1 and 2.0 downloads as well, and nothing will work.....net will not install at all, no matter what version.
so i cannot get the kitchen to run...help....?
:: Connor
did you restart the computer? after, did you delete the entire extracted folder of the kitchen and re-extract it? that always works for me.
Using DCD's (BuildOS) Kitchen with Vista
If you have UAC active on Vista here is what I suggest. If you are seeing issues with default.hv, user.hv, boot.hv most likely you have a permissions issue. Delete your extracted directories - Create a Root folder, such as Kitchen - Select Properties of that folder in Explorer - Go to the Security Tab and choose Edit - highlight your Users group and choose full control and then OK. Extract your kitchen files into this location. Logic would tell you that you should be able to just change the permissions on your folder once you extract it - UAC and logic don't necessarilly run together.... So once you've created a Root directory, set the security, extracted the kitchen into this location - run buildNB.bat as you would anything else - good luck.
The same issue applies to Vista and .Net errors (.Net 2.0 is default in Vista)
lol @ Vista...who uses Vista? hehe.

I use Vista. Works great. I also have an XP desktop.
Heck I still have a notebook running windows 95 on it.

Yeah this is the same kid who claims he is the only one that has nevo remote working, even though it doesn't work on EVERY other Titan. He's also the one that says he can magically send MMS messages without any software to do so. I'm starting to smell the bs from all the way here in Boston.

If you read his blog, he actually sells (overpriced) computers. Once again, I think gc has properly diagnosed what's going on.
I have a similar problem with 3.2.0 but my screen is stuck on the vzw screen stuck ...is there anything I can do to fix this ?

Whoa and that's saying a lot, given the way that bean town must smell; I mean they call it bean town for a reason, right ?!
Yeah...though I think they should rename it Sports-town for the way that our sports teams beat everyone else's asses all the time....

Now who's shoveling the bs.....
OH - wait, they kinda did spank my Lakers..... guess I'll go back to the corner now.....
No it is ok as Bean-town, only used as a verb. Still has the sports connotation, and can be used both offensively and defensively, and in all the sports Boston offers (Hockey, BB, Baseball, Football, etc).
Verb
To bean.
1. To hit with a projectile, accurately.
The pitcher beaned the batter, rather than letting him hit another home run.

New to Windows Mobile

Let's pretend I'm new to windows mobile. (I am). Can anyone tell me HOW I get to these HKEY directories that everything is edited in. If anyone could give me a step-by-step instruction on how to install or modify anything at all in the phone, I would greatly appreciate it.
Please start the steps right after the 'Turn on phone' step, as I am fairly confident I have that under control. Every time I've asked this question on other forums I just get links to different forums with no helpful information below a certain level of expertise. I have never coded or done anything other than drag and drop folders, etc so a dumbed down version of how to start and I can learn from there. Anything! PLEASE!!! I hate having this amazing machine and not being able to utilize it.
oh, Touch Pro, sprint
First you need to install a registry editor. The two most used are PHM (free http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/) or Resco Explorer (paid http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/). I prefer Resco, but everyone has their own pref.
And installation, you fire it up and simply navigate it to your registry. Pretty straightforward.
I downloaded the free one but it isn't showing up in my phone. I navigated to its folder on my pc and everything seems to be zipped. when I unzip the file extensions are *.001 and I can't open or access them. am I doing something wrong ?
also, if anyone can explain to me how to install .net framework ?

i assume you need the new 3.5 .net compact framework.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385&displaylang=en
You simply download and install the file on your computer (not your mobile device). This file will install the framework on your computer and will activate the add/remove programs on the sync center, so the next time you connect your touch pro it will ask to install the program. Then you just follow any instructions displayed on your touch pro for final installation and you're set to go!
here's on .Net http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=470
It has an extra app to choose a default .Net.
There's also a Tips and Tricks section and a walk through for TouchFlo3D at fuzemobility.com that you may want to try.
I can relate to this problem.

I have a Alltel HTC Touch Pro. The software that came with it does not work with Vista. I googled active sync for Vista, I got links to Windows Mobile Device Center. I installed that onto my desktop. It syncs my phone to my desktop, but only shows my device memory and the storage card. I have installed downloaded and installed net.frame. When I downloaded Advanced Config Tool and draged and drop (also copied & pasted) into the device memory and tried to click the cab. file it only shows that it will go to the c: drive on my desktop. I do not see anything showing for the windows on my device. Hopefully someone can post some useful infomation about this. Yes I did use search, that lead me here. There are lots of complete noobs. Before we can add useful information for others. ( like showing off the really cool function of these new phones we have to be able to use them ourselves. Thanks for any help.
Here's some tips that might help you:
When plugging your Touch Pro into your PC via USB, you should be prompted on the Touch Pro whether you want to connect as "ActiveSync" or "Disk Drive". You should click "ActiveSync" for installing applications.
If you are using your desktop PC and download an application for your Touch Pro, it will typically be .exe or .cab. The .exe files are intended to run on your desktop PC first, and will then trigger an installation to your Touch Pro through ActiveSync (Windows XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (Windows Vista).
If the file is a .cab, it is intended to run on your Touch Pro directly and will install the program. To move a .cab to your Touch Pro, you use the explore feature in ActiveSync (or similar feature in Mobile Device Center), and drag and drop. (Alternatively, you can download .cab files directly onto your phone from the source website using the Opera web browser). Once the .cab is on your Touch Pro, you use the file explorer program on your phone to naviagte to the file and then execute it.
When you install programs onto your TouchPro, a dialogue appears on the phone to walk you through the installation. To save your phone's shared memory, you can install programs to your memory card. Unfortunately, some applications work best when installed onto the phone versus installing them onto the memory card.
Hope that helps
Thank you very much for your reply. I'll give this another try. I had the Alltel HTV Touch Flo awhile back and was running XP on the desktop. If I remember correctly, I saw my device in the tree layout with the software running XP. I gave the Touch Flo to a family member and got a BlackBerry Curve. Wanted to go back to a windows platform for the versitilty of programs. I know everything has a learning curve to it. With lots of reading and study, trial and error, and help from generous people here. Noobs like myself can get a lot more use and enjoyment from their devices. Each new version that comes out is getting faster, more powerful, and has more features. Others see these things that we have and want one. It would be helpful if we could help them to see all the possibilities that are there. The I Phone gets a lot of attention with commercials and has opened up for new apps being developed. There are as many, if not more apps for widows. We just have to learn to implement them with our device. I know I did not start this thread, but others can see the original posters title and understand their, and my question. Thanks again to the reply, and to anyone else who comes up with more help for the noobs.

UPDATED: DeviceID fetcher (now showing multiple IDs)

This a small application I wrote to automatically retrieve the DeviceID on your PC without having to open the registry editor. It can also create the DeviceID.txt file with the id value stored. It's written in Java so it requires JRE to be installed (most of you already have this)
http://rapidshare.com/files/403680176/DeviceID.jar.html
Make sure you have Sony Ericsson Update Service installed otherwise the device id will not be created in the registry
UPDATE: App updated to show all Device Ids stored in the registry
still dont work for me
windows 7 x64
It's been downloaded too many times (10) for a Free Rapid Share account, it is no longer downloadable, you'll have to upload elsewhere

I always get the first one, there is no way afaik to determine which one is getting used at any point. I can maybe change it so that it displays everything and lets u select the one you want to use
Well the point's not what I want to use, it more what's the right one at time of flashing. Is it save to delete those keys so the right one is rebuilt inn case of reconnecting the device ?
it's really not easy to find which one is being used at any point. i don't know if it's safe to delete them from the registry, although i would suspect that it is. just make sure you use the same usb port whenever you flash. that way you avoid overcomplications with this issue
THX for the info. I'd try to find out the right one.
In my case it was the second key found, not the first!
So this tool does not work for everyone.

Dual Boot WM6.5 & WP7 Coming?

I'm mostly a business user and neither Android or WP7 can fully do what poor little 6.5 can do as of now.
I did search this & saw in a link in:
HTC Leo: HD2HD2 Windows Phone 7HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A and General
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=922030
but I thought that since 6.5 would have to be ported to an SD card, this topic shoould be in HD2 6.5 section? So I thought I'd start a thread here for any news or updates....
I know Cotulla/DFT is working on it. I would imagine there'd be a great interest in this. I personally can't wait.
Also a Question:
If/when it is ported, would a ROM have to be specifically made for each port i.e. Dutty ROM or KWBR ROM or would you be able to drop any ROM onto SD card?
I guess with 300,000+ subscribers I'm the only one....

"poor little 6.5 can do as of now"....
well in my opinion it's not., my 6.5 is a BEAST! thats why i didnt switch yet to wp7 or android.. winmo 6.5 is the main source of everything stable and fast.. without it there will be no wp7 and android on our hd2..
Hi, I also would like this to happen, as i have inported WP7 to my HD2 which is good but lacks good apps.
As for WP7 im looking for a good sat nav like Tomtom and Copilot live 8, but they both say that they are not making one for WP7.
Thats why I would like to run WP7 and have a SD bootable WM6.5 for Tomtom or Copilot which I had before on my HD2 WM6.5
So please can someone make one
I to think being able to boot Window Mobile 6.5 from SD would be really awsome. We all know that the DFT has annouced they are working on makeing this possible but I beleive this is going to be even harder and take much longer than Andriod did. You have to take into consideration the meir size of the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS is so much bigger than other OS's. So compiling all the code to work in a SD format is going to take time. But if anyonr can do it the DFT are the ones. I really wish there was something I could do to help those vuys out with this venture, but I am not versed enough with writting and compiling code yet to be of any real assistance.
Kudoes to the DFT and all thier hard work.
wm6.5 to sd card
hi,
this is exactly what i wish, i hav tried wp7 on hd2 android sd version, but what makes wm6.5 as my preferd os is
- wm6.5 is less dependant on cellular data connectivity
-ease of access to file system through file explorer and total commonder, though android has evolved from very little to a lot better explore but still u cant beat the wm6.5
- a lot of file and work can be accessed & edited if u wish to work offline
- wp7 & android have made user more dependant on online storage of documents & programs so i feel like being dependant on the online storage
- Most important point is that the progrem setup cabs can be saved on the device and it gives the ease and conveniance to install mod or work back to user coustomization without the need to connect to the desktop/laptop or data connection.
So all in all wm6.5 is still preferable as a choice as one of the os if there is dual boot(in my case wp7&wm6.5 dual boot)
all i can say is though i do like wp7 but until it gives evolves to the freedom & ease offer wm6.5 i think we feel the need of having wm6.5 sd port/rom.
if any developer will be working on porting wm6.5 to sd card i will be happy to contribute to him.
Please if any developer is already doing so then kindly point me to that place
My gut feeling is this won't happen :-(

@pinkjpr: there's a solution for your last problem, though it's a bit complicated. Install your program via the marketplace. Then also need ASTRO file manager (probably other tools, maybe even free ones, will be suitable as well). Now go to tools-->SD-Backup Manager (or something like that, can't remember the name). Chose the program you want to backup, click the "save" button (or similarly named). Now you can use the search function to look up your newly created apk (distinguish between them via date of creation). Tap and hold +send via mail or connect your phone to the PC and copy the apk on your computer.
The first step (Backup Manager) isn't always necessary.

Anon1811:-
My friend, u r missing my point,. please correct me if i m wrong, but apk files are for android os, just like the cab files in wm6.x, and i am referring about wm6.x & wp7,
secondly most of the android applications are web based and advertizement sponcered so u need a working data connection to use most of them (i m not saying all of them). & that brings u back to working internet data, and if u are in a remote location where u dont have network then u hav only limited functionality& cant use most of apps, so the device is more like a flash light or a paper waight,
finally about customization, i am not saying backup restoration, i am saying a fresh installation with what ever apps u want to use again and leave the ones u dont wish to,
and lastly u are saying to connect to PC/Laptop, so again u must carry ur laptop with you so u back to the dependence on PC & data connectivity
i think u havent explored windows mobile for long so u are underestimating its potential compared to android

Google made some changes on the back end, so the url I was using "http://m.youtube.com/watch?ajax=1&tsp=1&v={0}&dummy={1}"; now returns a "redirect" message instead of the expected data. I can get it to work, but it will be ugly as I need to now manually parse the info out of the mobile html page.
I am leaving this up as it appears to be still working in other countries.

**EDIT**
I have updated the versions in this post to include a properly compiled version of "YouTube.TaskAgent.dll" This should take care of any AV warnings with the original version.
This dll controls the live tiles! let me know if they still work.
**EDIT 2* I accidentally uploaded the wrong version of the Youtube_Interop_P2.xap earlier. It has the wrong "YouTube.ViewModel.dll" in it.
***P3 UPDATE***
All, I give you the P3 Update! It includes the following Fixes & Enhancements:
1. Vevo/Encrypted videos should be working for now. (Hopefully Youtube won't update their API for a while lol)
2. I removed that pesky "the content owner did not make this available for mobile" message. (It looked implemented wrong anyways)
3. This version comes with 100% less ads (Felt like "sticking it to the man" lol)
4. COMMENTS now work 100%
***P3.1 UPDATE***
1. "High Quality" mode working again! Fixed all videos default to pulling from m.youtube.com regardless of encryption status.
***P3.2 UPDATE***
1. "High Quality" mode working for ALL VIDEOS INCLUDING ENCRYPTED!!!
Things that still need work:
1. Video Upload is broken still. I will take a look at it as I have time...I am guessing it is a parsing issue. The Interop-Unlocked version may "just work" on an ATIV S for uploads. I need someone to test.
2. I would like to update the signature decryption methods to make it ia bit more "future-proof". IF anyone knows a good way to parse the html5 player, I may give that a shot.
As always, Enjoy and thanks for all the feedback and support!

Awesome! However, when I try to deploy to my Dev Unlocked Lumia 1020, I get the following:
Error - Deployment optimization failed due to an invalid assembly. Rebuild your source projects and try again.

Great!
Interop unlock version working a charme here on an Ativ S. It's a pleasure to see the official youtube working again. Grab it while it lasts!
P.S. No need to thank me, BTW: It's only the way this board is intended to work.
do you have any idea why Avast! thinks its a virus?

Many thanks for this, mate :good:

All,
Here is the official patched Youtube app! Hopefully this will tide everyone over until Google and Microsoft stop fighting!
Special thanks to @AlvinPhilemon for providing the unencrypted xap!
Special thanks to @Topogigi for spurring me on this afternoon.
I am uploading two versions:
1. Youtube_Interop.xap for interop-unlocked devices that can use ID_CAP_MEDIALIB_PHOTO_FULL
2. Youtube_NoInterop.xap for developer unlocked devices.
Enjoy and post your results!

you can do it for windows phone 7.8?
@Shahar28 @znial It is being flagged as "malware" because I hex-edited a new developer key into the "YouTube.TaskAgent.dll" file. If you want to unzip it, and make your AV check all the files individually, that is the one it will complain about. This was more efficient instead of de-compiling and re-compiling because only one thing needed to be changed. As a byproduct of this, none of the checksums built into the dll match anymore.
@onlinespending what tool are you using to deploy this? I used the built-in "Application Deployment" tool built into the WP8 SDK. I am guessing it is complaining due to what I said above.
@josaya Windows Phone 8 only. Plus you lucky WP7.8 users have plenty of nice youtube clients written by OEMs and other developers, like HTC

Yeah, I'm using the built in Application Deployment as part of the WP8 SDK. I was able to sideload a decrypted swapchat.xap I found, so I can certainly side load other xaps. Is there anyway to decompile and recompile the DLL as you suggested? Would love to get this working.

Did you try this on your Lumia which isn't interop unlocked. So far I've only seen people claim success that have used it on the interop unlocked ATIV S.

I've tried the Interop version on the Ativ and the NoInterop on the 820. They both work. :good:

I just uploaded a new version with the dll properly compiled, instead of hex-edited. Make sure you are installing the "NoInterop" version. Let me know if it works!
@Shahar28 @znial You guys might want to check out this new version and see if the AV warnings go away.

Does not work for me. Went back to the first one w/o problems, though. Tested only the InteropUnlocked.
@compu829 - the avast still gives out the virus warning.

What OS are you on? is it Windows 8.1? I am running windows 7 and deployed it with no problems. maybe it is a VisualStudio update to the deployment tool that is borking things. See if you can deploy it via the Windows Phone Power Tools http://wptools.codeplex.com/
The 2nd version doesn't work on my Ativ: it gives the same error given when G. blocked it.
I re-deployed the 1st. :good:
Edit: the NoInterop_P2 runs properly.
@Topogigi @djadry When I packaged P2 of the InteropUnlock version, I accidentally used the wrong "Youtube.ViewModel.dll". I just updated the OP with the correct version. You should be good to go now
