I find 10000 threads of people trying to lock Bands without root
So I think that with root it might be easier... or not?
I have Pixel Experience 12 in my POCO F1
And I'm looking on how can I lock the LTE Band
I have installed Network Signal Guru Free but it doesn't offer anymore the LOCK option as I see in many screenshots
Any other ideas?
Use Cellular (Z) Pro(not available in Play Store) . NSG doesn't seem to work reliably in case of 4G+ networks.

I am looking at buying a mi pad 4 as a present, but I'm looking for a tablet with GPS function.
I note the wifi version does not have GPS, but I believe the LTE version does.
My question is:- As the 4G bands are not the UK bands, I don't believe a UK SIM will work in the device, therefore will the GPS work in the UK, if there is no SIM installed?
Yest, GPS will work.

Wich Provider and whick LTE Bands use your Provider?
GPS will work without Sim Card
The uk providers use either band 3 (1800mhz), 7 (2600mhz) & all four providers use band 20 (800mhz).
my current provider uses only band 20, but I'm willing to swap
"Yest, GPS will work."
"GPS will work without Sim Card"
Unless it does not. Eg: the GPS testing application shows good reception and correct coordinates, but google maps (and some other apps) cannot use it, and there really is no single answer why and how to fix it.
I have read about the error in drivers.

I think is SW issue. Actually, app related one. Probably some xiaomi implementation is to blame but if some app work as they should (here maps for me) and others don't (your local weather that work just fine on moto x play with aosp extended) then it should be possible to fix this on the app side.

Definitely, I'm positive though the google won't touch their maps or chrome apps to fix them on non-certified platform
Hi,
I have been suffering to enable the WiFi calling on my Poco F1. I'm on the last beta ROM 9.1.24. I posted the same thing in MIUI forum, but no clear answer.
I tried these codes, but it didn't work also:
*#*#869434#*#* (vowifi)
I found a link here on XDA to enable this feature but it requires root :/
https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/guide-activate-vowifi-wlan-call-t3871263
My carrier supports the service, I tried my sim on other Samsung device, it worked. But for Pocophone, the options are greyed, can't turn them on as in the picture.
Is there any way to enable it without root?
It's the same as mine though still looking for the workarounds on this in 2020.
Hello,
I want to turn off the 4.5G network, but want to i use a 4G network.
4G+ consumes too much power and battery draining so fast.
How do I turn off the 4.5G network?
I searched a lot but I couldn't find the answer.
Thanks in advance.

Maybe this working,, download "set edit(settings database editor)" from market then open it,, look for this line " hw_networkmode_preference" then click on this line then choose "edit value" clear all then put 11 and reboot,, after that from settings > mobile data > preferred network mode and you will see more options, maybe this help..
Important :
Before you edit anything or that line take screen shot first from the old values ,, In case you like to go back to it.. and don't edit anythings else,,
I think you cannot turn it off 4G+ and maintain 4G only. It is related to the network.
You can't disable 4G+ but you can choose and lock a specific 4G band. You need to root your device for that. In Qualcomm smartphones you can download "Network Signal Guru" app from Play Store then give root permission to lock a band and get rid of 4G Plus.
Please turn off my 4G Plus
There is a app Samsung Band Selection. I was able to block LTE+. But only for Samsung I think, try. I'm probably EM lte+ sensitive. I feel like burning in fingers when lte+ is on...

Bro the drawback is that the app should be kept running is not there any permanent solution or other setting without keeping the app running in background

You don't need to keep that app, you can uninstall it after the locking procedure.

There's no solution for non rooted Qualcomm based smartphones. Some smartphones based on MediaTek & old Samsung smartphones used to support band lock without root.
I know this might require root, which I am more than willing to do. But is there a process or a magisk module that can activate 5G on unsupported countries?
(btw im from PH)
Hey, still no way for the moment
Google geolocked it and EFSTool isn't working with tensor but devs are (i hope) working on it !
I'll try to find a way when i got anytime too
that's too bad. suddenly had no urge to root anymore :/
VoLTE is working fine and gives upto 200mbps which is good enough for internet to smartphone and hotspot. 5g will only make your battery consumption high.
Root is the only method the 4g VoLTE works and a lot of developers did their best to come up with the perfect magisk modules. So far so good but yes I understand how it feels when your handset is capable of 5g and google don't care.

Install the below module through Magisk and reboot (there are two of them, start with 0.4A and see if that works for you, if not, try the other one), then make sure to enable VoLTE in settings:

Hi All,
I am from Maharashtra/India. Some time back my device was updated to version DN2101_11_C.11 reason was to add support for the Jio 5G network and enhances system security. Due to my setting it was auto installed. Soon after the installation the internet speed had been reduced to Kbs. Worst effected is net sharing by hotspot. Did any one lese got similar issue Jio network after the update.
Please help me in getting my older speed. Please note that 5G is still to be started in my area.
