General Yandex Launcher annexed my duo 2 and i couldnt be happier - Microsoft Surface Duo 2

Unnstall your niagara launcher sports fans, it is trash.
now brace yourselves, this fascist is about to shill a commie launcher
google play defaults to the tablet version of yandex's launcher for surface duo 2 and it is delightful.
between the other 3 ive tried: micrisoft, niagara, nova prime; yandex is easily my fave so far...
other than the same rotation bugs you get with windows launcher, the only glaring issues ive noticed are that sometimes when switching from 1 screen mode to dual screen mode, the second screen will stay off about 10-15 seconds after u unfold it, the app drawer in 1 screen portait mode cuts off the 5th row of apps, and i dont see an option to change the number of rows in the drawer.
other than that, this launcher works like it was made.for dual screen...
or maybe we shouldn have been trying the tablet versions of laiunchers this whole time?
good god. in almost 2 years this thread has had not even 20 posts. is xda just not as popular as it used to be? cuz, granted my last 3 or 4 phones have been somewhat obscure, they still had hype. more than this warrants. yeesh

I think, and would have to agree, that people are scared to invested in the duo after all of the software bugs from the door along with the demise of windows phone. if they just added an android emulator, I would have delt with it. However, to just eol the phone and os just hurt.
Anyway, I have been running nova and from time to time, I have a problem with touch response. is it any better? Is that why you changed launchers?
I use my duo in phone mode most of the time and even pocket it like that. Maybe I don't see many issues because of that?
PS. Love your Pic. Carlin was a prophet! Played a good cardinal too!

the short answer to ur first quesrion is yes
the long answer: nova (prime) is more or less the only launcher ive used for prob the last 3 years on 5+ phones and it had so many issues on duo 2, i went back to stock launch3r in less than a day, it just wasnt compatible imo.
regarding ur second questio: if by 'phone mode' u mean '1 screen mode' then i would not install yand3ex launcher cuz it doesn5 seem to like leaving landscape rotation.on the home screen or randomly on other apps which i find rather annoying.
and yeah carlin was great, him and patrice oneal are the only dead comedians who i find.myself wondering what their take on certain things these days would be.
edit: totally agree that for such a newfangled concept, an easy straightforward root process along with easily unlockable bootloader to install custom roms is a must (assuming thats what u meant by android emulator?). i might have been willing to buy duo 2 brand new full price had that been the case.

[Q] Thinking of getting a gtab but!!!!!!

Been thinking of getting a tablet so went into Currys today to have a look. love the screen on the GTab but found it was very laggy swipping through home screens? compared it to the Xoom next to it and that was smooth as silk?
I even reset the GTab to see if that would help but no change and if i put a live wallpaper on it got even worse? i tried all 3 they had on display and all the same, i did notice though they all had touchwiz installed?
I really like the GTab but was put off by this experience, can someone tell me if this is normal?

Looking at Touchwiz update reviews on Youtube, it seems extremely laggy compared to my Xoom. Strangely all say it's really smooth after the Touchwiz update. I don't know, either they have never used a Xoom (Android 3.2) or I'm just seeing things.
But i couldn't resist and ordered the GT10.1 anyway, i guess i will find out soon enough...
I've had both the Xoom and the Tab.
Probably less than .0001% of my time is spent swipping through screens. A HUGE percentage of my time is spent holding the tablet. The reason I took the XOOM back is because my left hand ached (I'm right handed) at the end of the day holding the Xoom. It's heavy, deceptively heavy.
At the end of the day my left hand doesn't ache with the Tab.
Simple rule of thumb: Determine what you will do with the device most of your day and evaluate how it performs on that. Don't use fluff as a decision criteria.
With the latest update (TouchWiz) I have 0 lag. They need to get those display models updated to give potential buyers a REAL look at the current speed. I love my tab!!
Don't forget that, in a lot of videos, there are a bunch of widgets on every homescreen. That slows things down a lot. Moreover, with something like apps organizer, you really only need one homescreen. Lastly, the touchwiz update does help a lot - especially if you do the + button then go to the more tab thing.

With the OTA excess widgets removed, and non-live wallpapers in-use seems pretty smooth for me.

I was hoping that this is why it seems to be lagging so much.
I dont know about the xoom but having recently shifted from the asus transformer, i can tell you that the samsung tab lags in comparison. No offense intended but I personally find that even the stock rom i had with asus performed better than the finest custom roms over here ( even with fresh install with no apps installed). This is because both the xoom and tf are using very light and stock roms while samsung added a lot of bloatware with the touchwiz. Also i tend to believe the white theme adopted in touchwizz literally slows down the whole experience.
HOWEVER, inspite of tht, i do believe that the samsung tab is a premium quality device and outweighs the other tabs because of its weight and size.
Xoom: fast but very heavy
TF: fast but a bit heavy and too wide for a tablet. ( you cannot even type at ease using swift key)
Bear in mind that this is something that you ll be holding your hand for hours maybe.... So in the end size and weight might matter more than speed depending what you intend to do with it

thanks for the replies they all help, was just a little put off by the fact that 3 demo machines were really laggy and stuttery.
TabGuy your right, i would hardly ever swipe between screens in normal use but its just the fact that that before you buy something you try it out and if something doesnt seem to be how you expect a premium device to work then that puts dought in your mind.
Its alot of money for me (as i am sure it is for others too) to be spending out on a device and i just want to make sure i get the right tab

My tf died yesterday but i popped into currys tiday and got a white one having used the tf from day one i can say i much prefer the tab and havent noticed any lag at all yet. I had the tf on prime rom and oc kernel and it was great also but the tab for me wins out however as not to be flamed the tf is also a good unit esp if u want the dock sdcard etc

wanted the SD card option really but have read about the new Seagate Go Flex satalite HDD which will solve all storage space problems which opens the door to the GTab

If apple release GNote sized iphone?

I'm going back to iphone.
This thing force closes way too much.... I know rooting and custom ROM can address some of it but I feel iphone is still optimized better than android. OK maybe I don't know but I just never had any issues with their hardware or apps.
Yeah I guess I'm not the type of person who really appreciates customization capability. I realized ONLY thing I like about this particular android is the large screen.
Sorry this is just a bad morning and my android is acting all ****ed up. Happens way too often.
If you are new to Android coming from the iPhone then you'll feel that way for a bit. I did miss my iPhone but once these awesome devs clear up some bugs you'll be really happy....if you like customizing. I couldn't stand iTunes so once I got around the noobness point, Android is so much nicer. The iPhone is more for people that just want to push an icon like my wife and kids.

Most likely a bad device.
I have had mine since mid December...all stock, only updates via Kies.
It's been more stable than 2.2.2 on my Dell Streak.
As for a 5" iPhone, well, Jobs is gone so anything is possible.
You watch though...if Apple comes out with a screen anywhere near the
size of 5", the iphone fanbois will trumpet it out that it is an innovation and
the best thing in the world LOL.
lol you do realize stuff crashes consistantly on the iphone it just doesnt tell you right?
Force Closes are from improperly written apps. this happens, there are so many varients in the Android world it is hard to keep up with the changes.
Apple has a set screen size depending on the device, Android has many different screen sizes.
If you like to DUMB down then go back to the iPhone.

My device functions this way because I read about everyone else problems and solutions and either avoid the base situation, or utilize the communities experiences for the solution... There was actually a study published a few months ago that showed that major iPhone apps actually crash more often than their Android counterparts; however, since the iPhone doesn't display a message to the user when that happens, and it doesn't give the users an option to report the crash, most iPhone users perceive fewer crashes. (In other words, they simply think that they must have hit the Home or Close buttons since all the iPhone does is crash back to their homescreens).
The second theory on why this is the case is that it's much easier and faster to release app updates on Android markets. Android devs can easily roll out responsive updates while iPhone devs have to submit every single update to Apple's ridiculous approval process.

I've been running the I717 since day one and I've gotten exactly 1 FC from a weird app I downloaded. once I deleted it I was good. Try doing a factory reset and start fresh. download apps that have 4 or more stars. My phone has been a champ from day one with all the crap I throw at it (not even screen slowdowns like some are reporting). If you don't like it, you don't like it, there's no harm in that. All I know is my Ipod frustrates me something fierce when I use it so irritations go both ways. Hope you stick around, the stock ICS should be wandering through in the next couple of months. If you don't want to wait, I hear there's awesome Roms of ICS already. check it out.

I switched from the iPhone back to Android because the screen was annoying for Draw Something, the edges on the phone are somewhat sharp & annoyed me in long typing sessions, no LTE.
What I've experienced on the Note, & why I said when I went back to the iPhone after the EVO3D that I would never go back to Android: LAG.
What good is customization if everything lags. What's the point of customization anyway? It's not like a computer that has incredible battery life & the customization is actually useful. It's just pretty widgets & UI mods.
I'm also shocked at how many ads are in the free apps compared to years ago.
Anyway, I'll go back to my sound app ecosystem with no lag. On top of that, the apps seem to run a lot smoother & take advantage of the A5 dual core vs the dual core in the Note.
+ I've spent way too much $$ on apps for iOS LOL. Sure I could get some for free on Android, but some simply aren't avail. Some I would have to buy again. Unfortunately, they all run better on iOS.
I will miss the s pen functions (and the Sammy cameras always seem better - I am disappointed by the 4S camera), but I'll survive. In my experience with android devices the major culprit for lag is on screen widgets that update. If you set up your device like ios with nothing but apps you will see no lag. If you use widgets and stuff you might redraw.

Interesting observations. Honestly I see my Ipod lag a whole lot more than my note (or even my streak) with much much fewer apps. I mean I use my ipod for pandora, email and rage comics and running all three at once it lags something fierce. I can do all that with my note plus play temple run and not see a stutter. As for the in app adverts, apple is just as bad, but the funnier thing is, the ration of paid vs free apps in IOS is a lot higher in favor of paid apps than in android, which is probably why you see fewer ads in IOS. One thing I noticed with IOS is most apps, especially the free ones, rarely have over 3 stars, makes me wonder if they're really worth the time... All I know is, between IOS and android, I prefer android hands down, I can customize my UI how I want to, I can have widgets if I'd like and do virtually whatever I want with it. if you want I can talk with my buddy to see if he'll trade his 4S strait across for your note.

Is the Padfone X a good buy?

The concept sound cool, and the price is nice on contract, I'm just wondering how people feel about the execution after some weeks of ownership.

If you are in need of a new phone and new tablet the padfone X can be a good option. Just remember the tablet does not work without the phone attached to it. Some see this a blessing, others a curse. Personally I like the setup, I do not have to sync two separate devices and the cost is great. Others need to have have two separate devices that can each operate on its own.
The phone part of the Padfone X works just fine by itself and is high quality. Call quality is good, people do not realize they are on speakerphone even when the phone is docked into the pad.
The pad is a little on the heavy side and with its 1inch bezel looks somewhat old school, but what it lacks in form it makes up in function. It works great as a tablet. Both the screen on phone and pad are vibrant and responsive. I have not ran across any phone apps that do not work well while in the tablet mode. You can make calls and text while the phone is docked. Some reviewers have complained about some apps not transitioning well when the phone is being docked or undocked. This has not been really been an issue for me as I usually do not need app to transfer. I usually just close an app then remove the phone. The call and text apps seem to transition well.
The slot which holds the phone into the pad protudes from the back a bit. This a slight annoyance as the pad is a little unstable sitting flat on a flat surface. But the phone is held real securely in the pad while at the same time being easy the insert or remove.
The camera is pretty sweet. It work fast and the color is good.
The speaker volume is adequate but I would liked just a bit louder. That being said, I have yet to install a volume booster.
If someone was needing only a phone, perhaps another high-end phone would be a better option. If someone is in the market for both a tablet and phone, I would give the Padphone X a good look.

So far, I am loving mine. My only concern is it currently does not work with ART. This could mean no Android L for us, but the ART is fairly new and I am sure ASUS will update their system apps to work with the new runtime. Other than that, its fantastic. Android wear support, fast, decent storage, SD card slot, amazing battery life with the dock. I bought this a bit impulsively, but I do not regret it in the least. The design of both the phone and dock are a bit on the bland side, but they are in no way ugly, and the displays are impressive, so they look nice. Really, it comes down to you. Go to an AT&T store and try one on display.
It's new so root and rom options are still limited.

None, for now.
But there's a xda forum and it's out in the US so I think there will be choices later, unlike previous PadFones which are stuck to stock roms.
Should i keep it?
Well, I've had this phone almost 12 days...soon is last call to return it if I don't want it.
The main selling point was the tablet mode. My stepson broke my Android tablet and my Windows PC tablet was less functional than my HTC One m7. I frequently use Office 365 sharepoint, Ring Central, Google Voice, and telephone. Bigger screen with functional app makes the day much nicer.
And the hardware and camera seemed comparable.
I don't like the "glitchieness" I've run into running different default messaging apps and launchers. I also get a lag with multiple processes running, even when limiting processes in developer options and when using a task killer.
I also like to try different roms and change the appearance a lot. I don't know how to contribute to this much besides donation.
So I'm kinda thinking about a big screen phone like a Note or the LG Curve...whichever has more developer interest.
Anybody regret their purchase or would choose a different phone is they were me?

I do not regret my decision to keep the Padfone X but it meets my needs. My Padfone does not have the glitchiness you have encountered.
Your needs seem to be more demanding and perhaps a separate phone and tablet are in order.
On a related note, I have rarely regretted my decision after returning an item.
Well, late last night I got bored and got adventurous. I wiped the phone, salt super su, installed TWRP. I have actually not had a problem this time. It's running apex launcher, thumb keyboard, some widgets and live wallpaper and its working fine. Knock on wood.
The only thing I did different this time was installing the recovery and I didn't go into the developer settings and turn the animation of.

How is your Padfone S going? I'm looking to get that model specifically over the X. Basically, of what I've heard of the phone, at best it's above average, and at worst, still just above average, haha. So, fairly mediocre in its reviews. Do you find it to be the same?

To be honest... it does have some issues but updates are being pushed very fast... today i received a 250 mb update.
Sometimes the home button doesnt responds for a few seconds, and stuff like that.
But i am very satisfied with it. My battery combined with the station is great on moderate to lot of usage... i watched 6 twitch dota 2 matches over 4g on the phone alone, then watched 3 more on wifi with tablet mode... 24 hours later the phone alone had still 30%, and that felt great.
The phone is fast almost 99% of the time, and at least the camera is a big upgrade for me (had a Moto X).
Tablet mode is great but beware, the phone does become a little loose and touch sensitivity is totally lost on some areas of the screen, so you must keep ensuring that the phone is properly in place if you move a lot. Just ensure the phone in proper place and it works great.
So far, i am very happy with the phone... i usually buy flagships (htc one, moto x) and right now i dont want to use another, i love this one.
Several glitches have been resolved so i am counting on ASUS to fix the rest.
Hope this helps.

Finally talked my wife into getting a smartphone. She didn't like using my phone and protested saying she would hate a smartphone. To complicated and hard to understand. I bought her the Padfone X. Started her off on the tablet which made the transition to the phone easier for her to understand. She hasn't put the thing down since. She loves it and shows it off to everyone. Everyone we have shown it to wants one. It's not a perfect device but it is a long way from being a crappy device. I would happily recommend this device.

Thinking of getting the nexus 9, would you recommend it?

Really looking for a good decently large android tablet. I like vanilla android a lot and specs seem really good for the Nexus 9. Looking at the reviews though it doesn't look so great (bad volume and power buttons, light leaks in the screen, lagging applications, etc.). For those of you that own it what do you think, would you recommend it?

primary question, what will you primarily use it for, media, web, reading, gaming (high end or low end) .
I personally use mine as a jack of all trades with very little gaming. ( my wife on the other hand would need the nvidia shield for her gaming obsession )

love my nexus 9
I've had almost every tablet out there. I have a habit of buying them as they are released and I have to say that this one is my favorite. The combo of lollipop and the tablet makes it feel like it's completely unique. Fast as hell, beautiful and it feels good as an ereader / comic reader without being too big.
Love this tablet.

For ME, I don't want to be aggravated or pissed when using a tablet, which is exactly what the nexus 9 does. I've owned about every nexus device ever made, and this one is the worst (and best) user experience all in one. Mainly-
1) screen flicker. Every day. Always comes back after a reboot.
2) lag. I've had single core devices lag less than this thing. Literally. I know why its its lagging, and right now its unfixable.
3) after using a nexus 6 today, I am absolutely 100% convinced the n9 should have had 3 gigs of ram. This is the worst as this is something that wont be fixed until the NEXT nexus tablet comes out. The nexus 6 in a 24 hour period didn't hit low or critical ram states at all. Not one second. The 9 lives in these states. I had 5 chrome tabs open on the n6, while switching back and forth between all kinds of **** including games, and a page NEVER refreshed. It was wonderful, and made me realize the main thing I use the n9 for completely SUCKS compared to a phone. If anything, a tablet should be better at these things, not worse.
4) screen flicker
5 lag.

I do recommend it but wait another month so you'd have a better chance of getting the newer revision which seem to have less issues with the buttons and lightbleed.

What do you do to get lag??
I get no lag here
I bet you will say because it only has 2g of ram
Thats why it lags
I say no thats not it
Like you said you multi task a lot
And thats has to be the only way to get lag.
True 2g of ram is small
And true it should have had 3 or even 4g of ram
I agree on you on that
i even have some screen flicker too but it is rare
Even on 1 brightness
But you say that you get lag on everything
Man i just cant believe it i cant

I don't get lag on everything. That's not what I'm saying, and which is why I also say its the best and worst experience on a tablet.
I don't really multitask a lot, no more than average I'd say. I literally use this tablet for a few things, web browsing, youtube, very light gaming. My multitasking involves switching between youtube and chrome, and rarely a light game.
What I am saying though is it does lag MORE than most devices I have. After a fresh reboot, even in safe mode so there is 0 third party apps running after a while this tablet gets hit with serious bouts of massive lag and stutter. I've always heard about android lag, blah blah, and always basically thought people were full of **** or being too picky because really I've never had a device that lagged or whatever. Ya an occasional hiccup with previous devices, but rarely and never too bad. Not with the 9. Its consistent after a few hours use..
Maybe since you are actively developing, you're rebooting often. When I was compiling kernels and aosp builds, I flashed multiple times a day, which I'm assuming you may be as well as fast as you're kernel is being updated. Chances are if you don't have these bouts of lag, that's why. Like you said you can't believe my device lags a lot, I can't believe the opposite. If after a few hours my tablet is starting to lag while in safe mode, I find it VERY hard to believe most people aren't seeing ANY lag. Maybe what I'm considering lag you aren't. I'm calling lag ui choppiness/stutters/unresponsive for multiple seconds after pressing something.
I know lag is not hardware- Denver seems to be beastly. Software?- parts maybe, but lollipop does not have these 'lag' periods on my nexus 4, nexus 5, or either of my two nexus 7 2013's. I personally don't think its a coincidence that my nexus 9 is the only one that spends its time in low and critical memory, and its the only one to lag. Add to that it ONLY seems to lag bad while in these states. With all this said, what else is causing lag? Especially when it happens in safe mode- so third party apps are out of the question they are not the main cause. Something causes this lag, maybe its not lack of ram, but it sure seems that way so far- if memory leaks were fixed , maybe this will become a non issue. System ui and android system shouldn't be consuming 300mb a piece, which is what they will swell to after a few days.
On top of this, there is a reason google is using zram on this device and no other nexus, and its not because they're are testing it out or whatever else I've heard. They knew 2 gigs probably wasn't quite enough. Why else would they do this?
I just took this screen shot- this is actually better than usual. I'm curious if you don't have lag what this screen looks like for you, set to 24 hour period?

I hope so. I do like everything about it, besides said issues. Form factor, performance is good and smooth as butter a lot of the time, but when its bad its really bad IMO. It seems like there are big memory leaks with lollipop in general, and they seem to be worse on the nexus 9. Hopefully if they are fixed it will help with my(and other people's) issues.

If you must have a pure android experience. Then it's a no Brainer. This is the tablet for you. And it's future proof.. meaning that the 64 bit processor is going to kick the **** out of the competition (once app developers take advantage of it ).
The galaxy tab series is also really good. But unfortunately. it has touchwiz. but that can be corrected with a custom ROM.
So far I'm pleased with my nexus 9.

Hello
I'm thinking of getting the Nexus 9 as well. Plus, it's going to be my first tablet ever. Because of the prices I can only afford the 16GB model (white). Do you think this will be enough space? I know after the first use of the tablet there are only ~ 9GB left, but I think of only using it for creating and editing documents, watching movies (not that much), surfing, ... just basic stuff.
To "upgrade" the storage I read that the Nexus 9 is supporting USB OTG so in case I run out of space, I can simply plug in a stick for additional space, can't I?
Is there anything I have to look for before purchasing? I'll try out the tablet in a local electronic store, I'm aware of light bleeding and the problems of the back of the tablet. But is there anything more?
It would be nice if you can tell me something about your experiences!
Thanks in advance

That sounds great so far!
I read that there are 11,5GB free but only ~ 9GB "for use". Can you confirm that? But anyways, I'm not going to use it for huge amounts of music and pictures so I guess (and hope, haha ) that it'll be enough space available.

Nexus vs Iphone discussion

Both are the OS makers flagships, seems like a fair comparison compared to other android phones. Anyone thought about going for the new Iphone(6s) and chose the nexus instead?
-I've always had Android smartphones(and mostly the flagships), and thought about trying iOS for the first time with the Iphone 6s, but after 5min with a friend's Iphone 6 I decided I can't deal with no back and recent menu buttons.
What about you guys? do you feel android is superior to iOS in every subject? Personally I feel the app support and API there are better, but thats about it
Lol, did you just wake up after 5 years of hibernate and out of the blue decided to compare Android to ios?
What's the point in this comparison ?
Will it make you choose iPhone over? What are you doing here then? Isn't iPhone forum a better place for you to fetch the info?

You're absolutely spot on with this comparison. I've seen articles talking about Google taking shots at its "Android partners". I feel they are legitimately taking a shot at Apple. This is clear spec-wise. Pure Android vs ios. 6p for the win, lol.
You can't really compare these. The ecosystem differences mean too much to let the hardware drive the discussion. Plus it's just a flame war.

6s is faster, A9 chip is better, battery life on ios is great because ios is so well optimized. Depends how you use your phone though. I was planning to switch to 6s because got tired of gps never working on android when I needed it, but on my note 5 gps locks right away so I resisted temptation.

This is the best answer, seriously. There's hardcore people in both camps that will "never switch back because blah blah blah".
I respect Apple, they make nice devices and their interface is very fluid. Android has come a LONG way and just suits me better. Personally the lack of a "back" button on iOS devices baffles me.
There are plenty of issues with IOS. Plenty of issues with Android as well. For me, Android works much better than IOS. I can't stand the home screen of folders and icons. Its like looking at nova's app list all day. Then on top of that there are device limitations like not being able to use my phones storage to move a file around like I would on a PC just drives me nuts. The way safari scrolls drives me nuts. Its one page at a time and that is it, scroll, stop, scroll, stop if I'm on a forum or skipping a couple of articles on a long tech site its annoying. Mail attachments, same file type limitations. No back button, no menu button etc etc. Their pressure gimmick reminds me of long press which again has been around forever. The list goes on and on.
Lets not mention inferior hardware, more expensive and while people from both groups can be insufferable I'll take an Android fanboi over an IOS one any day of the week.

yup, great response. that's mostly why I've been with Android and then the nexus line since the early S2 days, and didn't switch to an Iphone. Thing is though, it doesn't matter how big Android gets(as it's already the biggest OS by far) it still seems like the apps support on iOS is better(which, from what I've read, is bc app dev claim Iphone revenue is ridiculously better then Android, even when android has more phones on the market).
So the only reason I always thought about making a switch is because of the apps catalog. They have more polished apps in general, way more enjoyable games etc and to those that may of noticed( probably most didn't) iOS still gets better support from big companies- mostly because they have more API support. For those that are using Vine/Snapchat etc from day one you'd know about the time difference it took for these(and many) other apps and in build features just to get to android, sometimes an update on iOS for an app gets to android months later. and that sadly still happens.
And I got to say I'm not one of those performance is everything guy and benchmark my phone the moment I get it, but hands down 2.5k on greekbench which is 2.5x then my Note 4 which is already fast is ridiculous. they do have some good engineers(..and the 810 couldn't even not overheat:silly: )
Edit: for those that love to argue over the internet, this is really not the place. People can have a discussion about a subject and not go directly into a flame war. Saying that an Iphone is better at some areas doesn't make me an iOS fanboy, and owning many Android phones(including previous nexuses) doesn't make me an Android fanboy(mostly, anyway ; ). Yes, I like android but I wouldn't bash competitioners just for the sake of it. And it's enjoyable to talk about technology and phones. that's the point of this thread - just for some previous comments I've seen.

Well for starters the Iphone has limited ram and it limits what it can do multi task wise. Which is why when people exit out of safari and open something else, say facetime many times the browser has to refresh when you go back to it. Same for other applications. There is less room to multitask on the Iphone. Yet you pay the same as another device with perhaps double the ram.
The retina display is inferior.
There are two pretty big items right there.

My Note 5 has 4gb's of ram but my iPhone 6 Plus, with only 1gb of ram can keep way more apps open in the background without having to reload them. Don't get me wrong, I still prefer Android but more doesn't necessarily mean better.

Today os platforms are more like Armani VS Gucci Vs Burberry etc. All will cover your body but decision in based on whose design you like.

With Note 5's bloated touchwiz launcher/apps eating those RAM.. yeah I agree with you.
3gb RAM Nexus 6P running stock Android gonna blow both away in multitasking...
Ahh, the age old question. I'm mainly a Android user but like and use IOS also. When the iphone came out, I really wanted it, but I didn't get it because I didn't want to switch to AT&T. When my contract was up, a friend of mine told me to checkout the Nexus One. I've been hooked ever since.
I always find it funny when people start throwing specs around. Yes the Iphone has inferior specs, but that doesn't matter. The Iphone has always operated well with the hardware it had. There are a lot of things I like about Android over IOS but the specs were never something I worried about.
