Thoughts Tab s7 plus june security update , Any problem after update. ? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 / S7 Plus Questions & Answer

As samsung is known to give half baked and faulty software to older devices , I am just scared to update , so will it slow down my tab or it's safe to update
Thanks in advance

I just downloaded and installed it. It is a pretty light update. Mostly just the June security update. For the record, I haven't had any problems with updates for my Tab S7. This didn't slow anything down.

Covered in many other posts but to summarize:
1) Samsung.com account setup?
2) Already been in the Google Market on the tab to accept the Terms of Use?
3) After both of those, did you add your Samsung account to the tab with success?
NOTE: No idea how the region may play a factor here....the Samsung account certainly has a country choice that might be an issue.
I have a SGS 2, i created samsung account on it. Added the same acct to tab 10.1.-- no good
then reset the tab, created a new samsung acct---- still no good..
have a similar problem
when i setup my samsung account i put us as a region. and earlier today i decided to update the system. i downloaded and installed the update but ignore a warning about removing clock widgets and any contacts shortcuts. So when it rebooted i got a black screen. I did a hard reset and got the factory setting tried to update again but got no new updates and i still have none of the new features.
Contacted samsung live chat and they said something about an overload of downloaders and the only solution they figured is to keep checking for new updates or the tab will send me a "(push) notification" of an update available.
so still trying and no new developments. I'll wait and try the next day.
Having the same issue as tusharsingla.
Bought the tab in the US and back home it can't find the TouchWiz update via the tab (no update available) and also not via Kies. Only strange thing is that the Samsung account has 'Sync Off' mentioned in my account list. Any suggestions?
See my post from another thread. I'm having the same issue and am here in the US.

There's a thread in the Q&A section where one xda member had been advised by samsung that the update has been halted. Another xda member reports that samsung told him they are limiting the downloads for touchwiz.
Anyone else called Samsung and got the same or similar answer?
Just purchased 10.1 wifi today cant get touchwiz OTA

Spoke with Samsung Support today
Samsung support says that they are limiting updates due to load on their servers. I spoke with two different techs and got the same answer.
However, IMHO this is a bunch of bull. The update was released more than a week ago and if their servers cannot handle the load after this amount of time they should pack up their bags and go home.
Give me a break!
I couldn't agree with you more! This is ridiculous! Just when I thought samsung is starting to get their act together they do something like this.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
More from Samsung on Update
After numerous calls and emails over the past 10 days, I finally speak with someone today that tells me that the update is on hold. They could not provide any details about the reason or an ETA for availability.
I love Samsung's products, but there is no polite way to describe the quality of their support.
Same problem
When I finally got ahold of their support, I was told it was on hold due to an issue with the media hub in the USA. They could not give me any more details than that.
Samsung Experience
I happened to be in NYC today so I stopped in at the Samsung Experience center and they confirmed that the update was pulled, but they said it was due to software issues, not Media Hub. The rep said that there were complaints about excessive lag and poor battery life although he said it worked perfectly on his Tab.
I wasn't expecting the update any more soon but being bored I manually checked for it again yesterday evening. I was surprised that my tab did mention that there was an update available. It is the update including the TouchWiz, Media hub etc. so apparently they are still sending out the update.
I also checked out of boredom and noticed a firmware update. Can this be done while maintaining root?
galaxatized with honeycombâ„¢
Got my Tab a couple of weeks ago and saw a pending 180+ MG update available while I was exploring last night. Ran it, and it crashed the system, some features work, some don't, some critical (the browser) are gone and I am a long long way away from support.
So begins my school on Android.

Reviews for 32.2.A.4.3

Hey guys,
what's your experience with the new 32.2.A.4.3 firmware?
I have been waiting for some reviews on it as well. But it seems a very limited number of people have got it and they've neither installed it yet nor they are around here to tell us What I am expecting on this update includes 1- November security patches, 2-Updated camera UI (with manual controls as in XZ and X Compact), 2-A newer version of Xperia Home. (at least some of them, if not all)
The only thing I know is that 32.2.A.4.3 was an open source archive from sony. No idea what that Norwegian company did with it, but I have no plans to test it out.
Main reason I don't believe this is real firmware update: version going from 32.2.A.0.305 to 32.A.4.3 doesn't make any sense.
I am no expert but from what I see, all the listed firmware on developer.sonymobile.com eventually ended up being commercially released. I guess we'll have to wait for a couple of days and see whether it's going to be live in any other regions or not...
Well Telenor Mobil NO has gotten it.
Check https://xpericheck.com/device/E5823 for that...
Doing a diff between 32.2.A.0.305 and 32.A.4.3 open source archives shows just a few tiny changes. The ROM itself may have more changes, though.
Mines just updated, NOBA
I got the update today about half an hour ago. August security patch and about 90mb. Can't see any differences.
Me too. I updated. I don't see anything new. Camera app, launcher, settings, nothing. Just the August 1 security patch.
Updated and for me it screwed up my phone. Home and Menu buttons stopped working, but gave tactile feedback when I pressed them anyway. Back button worked though. But kind of rendered the phone unusable.
Also the top pulldown menu did not work anymore.
Needed to do a system restore to get it working again (joy...)
Don't do 32.2.A.4.3
Upgraded to :silly:
Phone is really slow after upgrade, most apps lagging and sometimes crashing.
Instagram is a nightmare after this upgrade..
Using screenshoot function takes 15-30 sec before picture captured.
Doing re-install in a couple of days.
DO NOT UPGRADE
There's a new release on developer.sonymobile.com: 32.2.A.5.11
Maybe is a fix of the problems in this version. So if you have 32.2.A.4.3 maybe you should wait for this update.

ASUS Suspends Android 7.0 Nougat Update for ZF3U! BUT My ZF3U is DEAD!

Following my recent technical issues that were caused after updating my ZF3U to Android 7.0, I contacted ASUS and was told that "we have checked this for you and sent this info through for analysis. The Android N update has been stopped for OTA updates. So we would advise to downgrade the unit back to Android M for now. And do a factory reset for the unit".
This advice did not work and eventually my problems got worse (see other threads I posted about my problems). Few days a go my ZF3U completely died on me. Prior to this fingerprint recognition did not work, serial number was misreported in settings, no sound in calls was present even after downgrade to Android M. ASUS should not have released the Android 7.0 firmware in the first place pending proper testing on the ZF3U.
Eventually, I sent the phone to repair (through my insurance as ASUS insisted I had to send the device to Taiwan as it originated from there for the Asia market -POOR Service for an international company) and was advised that my ZF3U was beyond economical repair so a replacement was needed. I have now ordered another one as this phone is the only phone available that caters for my needs. I am really annoyed with ASUS, their service and the really poor software update they first rolled via OTA and then through their servers and then withdrew without any advice to those of us who have already installed it on our precious devices. They should never have released an incomplete, faulty firmware update. I hope those of you who have either downloaded the OTA or used the manual file do not experience the issues I had but if you do then good luck to you unless you have insurance.
Lets hope they learn to fix their phones properly with good after-sales support and I am still waiting for compensation from them following my recent complaint.
What's up with this update anyway ? I received it and my phone functions perfectly...
Why did Asus pull the update ? What's the official reason ? Is it a widespread problem ? Or just corner cases ?
Thanks.

Not sure why it was pulled. I got the manual update second hand from a user on this site as it was already pulled from ASUS before I could get it. I knew the risk and updated anyways. No issues at all. Phone works perfectly, maybe even better. My bootloader was unlocked and rooted just like AWFRONT was. Not sure why I didn't get the same issues they did, but I am 100% issue free on the 7.0 update.

this explains why my ultra didn't get the update yet.. probably it was rolled out to some devices, and encountered intermittent issue like above and rolled back..

Software Updates

When I check for updates the tablet just says "Connecting to server..." and it never completes.
The tablet is connected to the internet. In fact I am typing this from the tablet right now.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions?
I have same problem last few days. I had many Samsung phones and tablets, never seen something like this

download samfirm or that new download tool - I think it is called FRIJA t - and use it to search for the latest firmware -in the device field, enter SM-T860 and then enter your CSC - if you are in the US - enter the letters xar as your CSC and it will find the most recent firmware (August Security Patch) and allow you to download it. Then use the latest patched odin to flash.
Hope this is helpful

I dont think its the tablet but Samsungs server, I downloaded the latest update last week but when I checked recently just to check, it takes a long time to connect to the server, after all if all internet and pages are loading right it has to be their server
Don't worry you won't be receiving many updates ?
Not agree. Tab s series has premium status in samsung lineup.
Only S and note phones are upper, all other lower.
Will be many updates. I expect at least every 3 months.

I disagree. The Galaxy Tab S3 is still getting updates. Things have really improved over the past several years

Ok ?
I agree, my tab tab s3 and tab s4 almost always get updates right around the same time my galaxy phones do.

Calm down. Just a bit of banter. The odd security update isn't what I mean. Updates will be rare on the s6 and they haven't improved that much . Be months before Android 10
Still can't get updates on the WiFi 256GB version. I am still running Security Patch August 1, 2019. Is there an update available and if so how can I get it?
I found that updates can be installed on the tablet using SmartSwitch.
For me (in Germany) it came as usual over the air.

I have same problem. Maybe because I flashed not my region sw with odin? Although it was never problem

I don't think so, I had installed the normal web update and then since then it never connects to the server when checking for updates.
Thanks, this is valuable information for me. So, you are always on home csc, and have this problem
Before today, it would fail to connect to the server. I just manually checked now and it's downloading an update. Tab S6 WiFi only US model.
Still no update here, disappointing to still be on the August security update....

Updates

Is it normal for a such a device as this to be 2 months behind on updates? I don't mind, just find it interesting that other samsung devices are getting the august update, while this device (for some) is still stuck on June. I guess considering this is a tablet and not subject to the same update features as a phone, it may take a little longer.
If you read this, you'll note that all Samsung Tablets are update quarterly.
