Hello.
Sorry for my **** english at first!
for 3 years i had a galaxy s6 edge. Now i have a honor 10, with the newest updates.
I was in the developer settings
there is only sbc, aac, aptx, aptx HD and HWA
when i try "use system settings standard" or " optional codec" doesnt work either
I only get aptx hd. I also tryed all the other bluetooth settings under the codec settings.
It only shows aptx hd on the sony app and in bluetooth connections..
Why pls help, its one of the reasons why i bought the honor 10..
Just if anyone is looking for answer :
Yes, Mi8 PRO supports LDAC straight out of the box.
As soon as I've connected Sony WH-1000XM3 message appear something like "do you want to use LDAC connect your Bluetooth device?"
How do you enable aptx? I did it in developer options but it keeps jumping back to sbc. I am using a Sabbat E12 Ultra which has aptx.
Thank you.
Same issue. Did you find a solution? Thanks
The way i do it turn on Bluetooth make sure you dont connect to any Bluetooth device! Then jump into Dev options and select the codec i need, it works everytime..
Hello,
Looking for roms or kernels supporting LDAC bluetooth codec. Tried so far:
- Stock - no support at all
- Syberia A11 4.9 - LDAC on the list, but can't choose it after connecting Sony headphones which supports LDAC
- Pixel Experience Plus A11 - LDAC on the list, but can't choose it after connecting Sony headphones which supports LDAC
- Pixel Experience A12 - LDAC works fine, yay!
I will give a try PE A12, but looking for lighter and stable ROM with LDAC support.

It is greyed out befor you are connected with device that supports LDAC. At least it is on 3 Roms I posted by default. Did you check it with that device?
No, I don't have a LDAC device
Does Redmi Note 9 Pro (Indian) 'Curtana' support LDAC codec and APTX ADAPTIVE for Bluetooth audio streaming?
Please let me know, I'll be buying TWS earbuds based on this. Thanks!
Interesting question... I am searching for a pair of TWS earbuds (aptX-Adaptive or LDAC) and I found some info about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro:
- the Snapdragon 720G is compatible with the aptx-Adaptive codec, as mentioned on the Qualcomm official website here with the Bluetooth version 5.1 and Qualcomm Aqstic™ audio codec up to Qualcomm® WCD9385
- aptX-Adaptive should include aptX-Low Latency and it should have retro-compatibility with aptX and aptX-HD devices as stated here on the Qualcomm website
- LDAC too is supported from what i know from Android Oreo 8.0
Searching online I found this thread on reddit about the 9 Pro (Joyeuse) where the logcat of this user running the official EU MIUI of two years ago (MIUI 11?) shows the inizializiation of some codecs, including the aptX-Adaptive.
Since the chipset is the same for both 9 Pro Joyeuse and Curtana (Qualcomm SM7125 Snapdragon 720G 8nm) we can assume the atX-Adaptive codec is supported by both phones.
Now, about the revision of the aptX-Adaptive codec available on the 9 Pro - regarding the sound quality provided by this codec - I did not found something useful for this phone, but only a thread on reddit about the dependancy of the audio quality from the revision of the aptX-Adaptive codec here .
Having a compatible device (earbuds or headphones) it is possible to select the available codec from the phone itself: Settings > Developer Options > Bluetooth Audio Codec and the codecs that aren't supported by the Bluetooth device should be grayed out (reference).
About LDAC it should be compatible without any problem I think - if the connected device support this codec - maybe it is only necessary to be selected in the phone Settings.
I am running Lineage OS 19.1 and the V13.0.5.0.SJZEUXM Firmware (Joyeuse - EU), I have no earbuds with LDAC or aptX-Adaptive to test at the moment, but I think the Redmi Note 9 Pro both Jouyeuse and Curtana should be compatible without any problem with LDAC and aptX-Adaptive. If any user with compatible hardware can do a test anyway, it would be appreciated.
