Hello! I just bought a phantom grey Galaxy s21 5g with 256gb. and exynos chip.
I came from a One Plus 7T. Is there any recomendations to take into account, what should I do first?
Thanks!
Samsung Galaxy store> pick a free theme (the default high contrast works well) theme controls the keyboard, phone and maybe text message page appearance> pick a free icon pack> choose whatever wallpaper you want.
From the Galaxy store download the Goodlock family of apps to customize your phone.
Get One Handed Operation plus as well Sound Assistant.

Also set up Edge, for quick pull out access to different panels for it in the Galaxy store. The clipboard edge panel is very useful.

I'm currently using some fakery to scroll the live wallpaper (my app broadcasts the new X/Width parameters, but it's a bit laggy) and will do some more fakery to support widgets (both methods will only work with another Star Trek app I made: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.omnicorp.lcarui.test&hl=en since I want to keep everything LCARSian.)
My questions are as follows:
High priority:
What is the code to either bring up the Create Shortcut dialog, or get a list of the shortcut types currently registered?
I understand that once the app creates a shortcut, it sends it to the launcher via intents I'll have to listen to.
Low priority:
What is the code to scroll the live wallpaper the correct way?
I'm using android:[email protected]:style/Theme.Wallpaper to show it.

Looks like the Gear Fit has gotten a software update for vertical orientation. :good:
I know a lot of people have been complaining about this and it looks like Samsung has quickly addressed the issue.
The lady who developed the software for the Gear Fit was at the Samsung Unpacked event in February and she said they were working on it.
These pictures were taken in a Korean Samsung Store last week: (Credit: yongjae89 @ The Verge forums for taking these)

Does upgrade automatically gives you vertical support.
Funny thing is I do not like it, I find the horizontal orientation more natural.
Would be good if they would allow smaller fonts in the vertical mode to have clock in one row and read better the notifications.

The screen size of this phone is going to be a benchmark size for the phones coming next year after Google themselves have gone for a 6" screen. How best do you utilize this massive real estate? Widgets etc that make use of the screen. Will start with mine.

Nova launcher, long shadow icon pack, dash clock widget with better weather, battery, WhatsApp, countdown timer and data usage extension. Wallpaper from material walls.
Running PAC ROM with GSM on a sprint HTC one Max.

Hi,
I have got a little problem:
This afternoon something weird appeared: a button called 'feeling lucky'. I cannot remember to install something like this. It just appeared.
Does anybody knows what this is? A virus or something maybe?
I cannot find it in an app list for removing.
Here the screenshot

It's bloatware from the Apex launcher. Check their Play Store page and feel lucky to join storm.
You can get rid of it in the Pro version of Apex.

No, it's also been at the pro version and apparently still is. In the comments at google play a lot of pro users complain about still having it, but now it is hidden and working in the backround...

As a user of the Moto X Pure, one of my favorite features is the lockscreen. You can unlock the screen using the motion sensor with the Active Display feature. They also do a great job of displaying your notifications in a way that gives you maximum information at a glance. I've wanted to bring the features of this lockscreen to my other Android devices and I think I've finally found a good solution for that.
AcDisplay is a lockscreen app that's a decent replacement if you're looking to step up your notification game. You'll also have the "Active Mode" which is the same as the Active Display feature from the Moto X. Since the app uses very little CPU power this isn't going to be a battery hog, which was my main concern about an app like this.
