[Q] Restoring phone to stock

Hi everyone, wonder if you can point me in the right direction.
I'm currently on a custom rom with an unlocked bootloader and I wish to go back to stock including locking the bootloader, from what I've found out so far this is what I need to do: -
Flash original ftf
root
flash TA
reflash ftf to lose root
Now back to stock with "Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes"
Trouble is I can't find how to go about restoring the TA partition from my TA image so if anyone can explain what software I need and the steps I have to take I'd greatly appreciate it, thanks.
You can use the same tool that is used to backup the TA partition (read the FAQ in the 1st post):

I didn't know that you see as I used the Doomlord root exploit before the other methods were available, thanks again.
Edit: Thanks again, I'm now back to stock with the service page reporting "Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes"

Sorry for high-jacking this thread, it however loosely fits my problem.
When I got the Z2 I was, in all honesty quite quick with rooting and swapping the stock Sony ROM with Cyanogen. So quick in fact that I didn't bother for two seconds to actually perform a backup of the system beforehand.
So my question is this - is it possible (given the fact that DRM and such will be lost for all eternity) to revert to stock rom without the backup?
If so... How really? (couldn't find anyhone so stupid on here to do the same rookie misstake as I did so no answers was found while scouring through the forums...)
Thanks in advance, and yet again, sorry for high-jacking the thread.

Thank you for a quick reply - forgot to add a question, what happens to the phone WITHOUT the DRM keys? What will I not be able to do - that i presently can with cyanogen or non-f***ed-up-stock-ROM?
Thanks!

nothing is affected by your drm keys weather they exist or not in 4.4.2/4.4.4 xperias they are simply used to check if you have modified your device ie. bootloader unlock (relocking doesnt restore your drm keys)

Ah, thank you!
Well as I already figured that I messed up any warranty, that's no issue for me, so really thank you. I was hoping that I could restore to original stock rom to be able to properly use the camera and noise-canceling headphones. Seems like it then. :good:

I appreciate the guidance, but I, like the OP, would like to know if there is another way of doing this w/o having to downgrade... no need to belittle the question, after all this is a forum, where by definitions questions are expected...
BTW, anybody has found a way to root 4.4.4 w/o downgrade? Thanks!

Despite all the negative feedback you've gotten by asking your question, YES there is a way. I found it and then created a new thread with the step-by-step.
Unfortunately, it does require unlocking bootloader and a few other tradeoffs such as losing X-reality and your warranty.
For full details: ROOT without downgrade

Several problems with Xperia Z2 after unlocking bootloader

Hello XDA community,
I have a Xperia Z2, and i unlocked bootloader WITHOUT saving my DRM Keys, (i know shame on me :crying, now i know I did something stupid, nothing to do about it, but since i unlocked, i have had several problems: inestability, it means i am using an app and it restarts, or just closes, or even my phone restarts, if I go to contacts i dont have facebook contacts, the option just dissapeard, it means birthdays dont show in calendar, average camera photos just too noisy or awful photos, xreality not working properly, i know some issues are known but i havent heard about facebook contacts, to be honest i feel really bad with phone like it. So my questions are these, and thank u, thank u who could answer me, just work with me I know a little of these world, so if u could be a little specific about instructions or solutions i would really appreciate it:
1) Having an unlocked bootloader phone, in terms of security, is it easier to hackers to mess up my phone?
2) Is it better to lock my bootloader, if so, how can i do it, resolving my issues and not losing features?
3) If unlocked bootloader is an option, how can i have my phone back, i mean without issues? ( I read a thread about this point, but i confuse a little, because i dont have recovery or rooted)
I tried installing an ftf from flashtool, issues still there =(
Thank your for ur patience.
God bless u.

Hmm technically yes. I guess it would be detrimental if someone grabs your phone and flash's a hacked boot.img. Root on your phone is more of a risk with an internet based attack or corrupt apk.

You can lock your bootloader but it won't fix your issues as you've lost your drm keys. There is a drm fix in the cross development section I think. Google "Xperia drm fix xda". Not sure if this will fix your Facebook issue though, I've never heard of that one. To relock your bootloader google "Xperia relock bootloader xda"

Firstly, if you don't have recovery or root, why unlock your bootloader? Thats sort of the point.
Since you lost your drm keys, the best thing you can do is flash a stock ftf file, apply the drm fix and relock your bootloader. It will never be 100 percent the way it was as you can't reapply your drm keys.

Can I get stock Marshmallow on Moto E UK?

As title really, can't really find a definitive answer.
It was a UK Tesco handset but unlocked to all, and still running the standard Moto stock firmware.
Any help would be appreciated.

Just wondering, in my Xperia there is a method of rooting without unlocking the bootloader. Maybe it's a different case for Huawei. Anyways, thank you for the reply.
Would be great without unlocking :/
