[Q] ViewPad 10 dual boot x86 help?

Hello,
I purchased the ViewPad 10 dual boot quite some time ago, and have come to the point where it is pointless to have Windows 7 on a tablet with only 16 GB HDD.
As a result, I have been interested in installing Android on this tablet, replacing the existing Windows install.
I know how to install Android, as I have previously upgraded the 1.6 version to 2.2. However, given 2.2 is the latest official version released by ViewSonic, I am stuck.
Can anyone link me to the latest compatible version of Android that works on the ViewSonic? I have researched and read that there is an Android 3.2 release for a 'Vega2' that may work with the ViewSonic 10, though I am not 100% sure about this.
Also, will all Android apps work on the x86 architecture? If they don't work via Android Market, is there another way to get them working?
Hopefully someone can help me out here.
Can anyone help me out.....?
I also have a Viewpad 10Pi
I also have a Viewpad 10Pi and I am wondering if there is anyway to root it? Thanks Tom

Is it possible to downgrade your Android version?

Is it possible to go from Android 10 to Android 9 or preferably Android 8?

From my knowledge of Samsung devices, No. Samsung devices have binary versions that prevent downgrading. If you update to a newer Android version, an e-fuse get's blown (I think) and will prevent you from downgrading to an older version of android.

Downgrade from Android 10 to Pie possible?

Hi
I've ordered an A10 for my wife. If it comes pre-installed with Android 10, can I downgrade it to Pie so I can install a GSI rom from @phhusson?
TIA
If they are the same bootloader version, you can. If not, you can't. If you don't know how to tell what bootloader version you are, I suggest you use Google.

Thanks for the quick reply but now you've really confused me! If the phone arrives with Android 10 on it what am I comparing against? And if it comes with 9, is there any way to check the bootloader version of the 10 upgrade before I install it (don't want to be stuck on a version I cannot root <g>)
I haven't had a Samsung for over 10 years (S2 - fabulous phone) so I'm a bit out of date. Is the bootloader version still the 5th character from the right in the baseband number?
TIA

Well, first of all I don't know if Android 9 is available for your phone or not lol I don't have the device. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. I suggest looking at sites like Sammobile to see if there is Pie for your phone
And second, yes that's how you can tell the bootloader version on Samsung phones still
Thanks @ShaDisNX255
Good news - it came with Pie not 10 and the bootloader is v3 so I should be good to go

ALPS H960 10 inch tablet

I purchased a ALPS H960 tablet and it doesn't attach to 5G WiFi but the two apps I have install that display the phone/tablet information says it should. I believe it is the same as MT6797 or Pavoma G5. From the research I have done it is running a hacked Android version 9. Would it be possible to root it and flash it to Android 10 or 11 to get to work on WiFi 5G if it can't be changed the way it is now? Thanks.
Were you ever able to fund a way to root this device? I have the same one and wanted to do the same thing.

I totally forgot about this tablet. I got frustrated with it and sold it though.

Can i install android 6 or 7 or 8 on samsung a10s

Hey there I have rooted my android 10 to enable wps but unfortunately it is not working
So
I want to downgrade android version from 10 to any other version that supports wps connection
Can I and how ?
There is no way in how you could ever downgrade to a version, which was lower than the version the device was preshipped with. You cant downgrade a Galaxy S8 to 6.0.1 for example, as it was introduced with 7.0. Correct me if I am wrong but in my many years of experience, I have never seen something like that. I think the A10s was shipped with Android 9. There is no way how you can get Marshmallow/Nougat/Oreo on that Phone. Sorry!
