The changelog for this firmware mentions a gallery app was added?
"Added a pre-installed gallery application, which provides intelligent picture classification, puzzle and editing functions."
I don't see any differences in Photography Pro or Google Photos. Any idea what is being referenced?

I noticed that in the Gallery app, the pictures zoom in and out in "stages", thus making it look really like it's heavily lagging - and not like any other phone where zooming is very fluid. Any workaround to make zooming lag-free? Or perhaps there's a better Gallery-like app around in the Market?
quickpic in the market.
You can also get the gallery app that is used on virtually all other android phones on the market. Someone posted an apk for it on the themes and Apps section.

it's called 3d cool gallery ... it's the stock android gallery + some tweaks and sensor motion support...
do somebody know how to integrate that into camera apk ... I'm asking if there is a way to make the camera "call" another gallery apk not the stock one.cause even if you install alternatives ... they will not open directly after a shot but you will need to open the apk directly.very annoying

+1 for that!!! The camera app should ask first time what app you want to use when ticking the recent photos icon... but that is a work for developers (if they want to do it and have time of course!)
Hi all,
On the iPhone, there is an option to automatically enhance a photo after clicking on it in the gallery, and it will fix red-eye, colours, brightness and contrast. Is there something similar for Android that I can use to enhance the photos in my gallery? I've been searching but I *don't* want an Instagram-esque filter app (there are hundreds of those out there) - I just want a simple single-click photo enhancement app.
Any recommendation please?
Thanks.

What apps are you using for photo editing? There seems to be lots of them and was curious to know what everyone is using. I use PicsArt for most of my editing.

For editing the best is Aviary in my opinion. Also after loging with adobe account you get all premium stuff

With the DSLR camera and camera FV-5 app your using. Does it actually make your photos look any better? I was reading the camera forum and they said third party apps would not make your photos look any better. I'll give Aviary a sot. It looks like the default gallery photo editor.

Its UI like default editor, but it has way more tools. Talking about 3rd party camera apps... FV gives more manual options like exposure, ISO, metering

Hi.
Does anyone know how to activate Google Feeds to work with Stock Launcher?
"...
What EMUI does offer in abundance is new features. For instance, EMUI 8 can load messages from notifications in a split view to avoid interrupting full-screen videos. And when viewing photos in some apps, the phone's AI technology can intelligently upscale lower-res images. As for smaller tweaks? Well, the stock launcher now has Google Feed integration, which is nice to see. And "smart tips" can help surface Mate 10 features you might not know about based on your usage patterns.

C432 has Google Feed
C636 has HiSense Feed
Hi.
Is there a way to enable google feed on C636?
bump
Sadly I don't think it's possible unless someone can search the registry for "hisense" and seeing if changing it would work.
GCam Tool's primary purpose was to move portrait mode burst photos from their own sub-folders to the main gallery, keeping whichever photos the user wants (background blurred or non-blurred) while discarding the rest. Since then, I have been getting mails from users who wanted the app to move not just portrait mode but even normal photos.
With GCam Tool 2.0, all photos (even panorama and photosphere) are moved automatically in the background. If you want to save portrait mode photos into a different folder, this must be the easiest way.
Another request I got was regarding the way Google Camera took selfies. Most OEM camera apps give you the option to save the front camera image just like you see in camera preview. Strangely Google Camera doesn't allow this and always saves the image flipped. With v2.0, GCam Tool can now detect front camera photos and prevent it from being flipped.
I must give the disclaimer that this is an experimental feature. Google doesn't provide any sort of API for developers to detect whether a photo was taken with front or back camera. I had to come up with my own method of detecting that. I tested on S8+, OnePlus 3 and Redmi Note 4 and it worked fine. If this feature fails on your phone, please let me know the device model as well as the Android version.
Please try the app and let me know your feedback. If you like it, please take a moment to rate and review on Play Store.

Selfie picture is flipped to get right perspective, even xperia devices do this. The problem is that you shot something different from what you see in the display preview. You can easily adjust the picture with apps like snapseed or others.
had a tasker profile for that but tried your app. like it and upgraded to pro?
Very good app.. Upgraded to Pro but the app is crashing when i try to do batch move
Another Pixel 2 XL owner reported the same issue. I can't reproduce it on my S8+. Could you please write to [email protected]? I would like to figure out what's happening and fix it.

Unfortunately I couldn't figure it out yet. After moving photos, the app calls Mediascan service which should inform the OS about new images and as such it must appear in the camera slide to photo gallery. But somehow that is not working.
Working great thanks ?

Does this affect the backup of photos?

Hey! I saw the flip prevention feature and bought pro immediately to try it out, sadly it didn't work and after I restarted my device the checkbox disappeared from the settings page. I'm using a Pixel 2 XL on 8.1 April update.
EDIT: There's no disappearing checkbox bug, that was just me.

It shouldn't affect if you have set the target folder to sync with Google Photos

I am assuming you are talking about gallery that you see when you slide to right inside Google Camera. Even though all files are moved correctly in the background, that gallery has some issue with refreshing thumbnails. The app even calls mediascan after moving files, which should have fixed the issue. But that gallery app still won't refresh.
Third party gallery apps do not seem to have this issue.

thank you @Apptuners, this is exactly what I've wanted with this phone since the day I got it. God I hate those sub folders when taking portrait pics.
Someone can confirm no flip mod works in pixel 2 xl?
