...sadly not.
OnePlus 10 on the left, OnePlus 10T in the hands.
DO NOT put this phone in your front OR back pocket.
Of course it will break because frame is made from plastic.
10 Pro also breaks even with metal frame because of poor design.
Zack is a monster of a human being lol. I have seen other people try to replicate his so easily snapping the 10 Pro, something he did effortlessly, and nobody else had such an easy time with it.
Tricks of the trade!

Should be fine, just don't wear tight denims/trousers and have the phone in those pockets.
Get a decent case and tempered glass screen protector, can't really do much more than that.
It's still pretty bad that they've apparently learned nothing from the 10 Pro result. OnePlus usually has excellent device stability. Another sign they're definitely slipping with Pete at the helm.
It is so stupid to complain about the build quality. When in the world are you going to crack your phone like that and for what purpose? Phones are not made to be cracked, it is not their purpose. Phones are to be taken care of with, that's right, care. To brake it and then to complain about it? Stop the nonsense.

Unfortunately the world is full of people that don't have nothing better to do and give hate on one brand or another just for fun. I'm sure that nobody will seat down with his phone into his pocket and for sure if someone make it will break his display.
Actually, the build quality is pretty okay, and much better than 10 pro. The only problem is, Zach is a gym freak, and is fun at bending stuff to the breaking point. Here, this guy tried to bend the oneplus 10T with tremendous force, and failed. He isn't as ripped as Zach, so if you dunk a shockproof case and slap a tempered screen guard, you're good to go. It has Gorilla glass 5 on the front and back, and they offer a pretty good protection. Plus you don't go every other day trying to bend a phone so ignore Zach's video and buy it. Here's the video from the Indian guy trying to bend it.

Yeah, Zach is built different and a normal person can't bend the phone that easily!

Hi,
Just making a random thread, when I get a phone I always get a case because I'm afraid the drop proofibility(I know its not a word) is not up to scratch(pun unintended). However I'm waiting on sony's official white case. Just wondering, how drop resistant is the Xperia S. Not telling anyone to drop their Xperia S to find out.
Please share your experiences
I'll put it this way, I dropped it by accident and I've a big scuff and dent on the top right at the back of the phone.
I keep looking at it, with sadness.
I havnt dropped mine but if I did and it smashed it would not suprise me, feels very heavy/fragile!

Heavy? Really? IMO its a really light phone. Feels the same weight as my x10 but its way bigger. It surprised me when I opened the box and took it out.
Having dropped my x10 upwards of 4 times, never having a case I'm kinda confident in Sony's manufacturing. Thing is nicked slightly, few marks on the screen protector but if I replaced that you'd take a second to realise it wasnt new out of the box.
That said, I have a nilkin on the way and I'm going to be Uber cautious until it arrives.

Same I have a few scuffs and bruises on mine, I can see my £50 phone excess being used and it taking an irrepairable drop some time soon. My white case is on it's way.

Two days ago I dropped mine from about 1,5 meters onto asphalt (display down) causing only two tiny scratches on the screen! The phone still works as before. Incredible!

It really depends on how it drops. Though being a phone with sharp corners definitely has the downside of being less drop resistant, as seen that poor phone above that looks like it had it's skull cracked open
It's partly why a lot of phones you see have rounded corners, as they are more adept at distributing impact forces to the sides.
Too bad I'm in love with the rectangular design, so I'll have to be more careful!

No phone is drop resistant unless you have one of the old nokia phones. Those are wall resistant as well.
I thought they would make phones a little more drop resistant by now. On my old Samsung galaxy s, the gorilla glass does shatter, but I swear they could they could fix that by having very ever so small protruding edges to stop the glass contacting the ground, that way i don't need a case, that was with the old galaxy s but i guess this xperia s, the plastic and the glass are both vunerable

Its certainly heavy enough to hurt itself when dropped.
i dropped mine on the toilet floor in an airport and the top right hand corner got grazed and had a small hair line crack
...i ordered a case before this incident and the case came the day after the phone got damaged
oh well now im trying to get it replaced under warranty
I dont know how but i never dropped my phone. Butthe lens on my camera cracked. How the hell? They marketed it as sapphire. Why?

But im careful with my things. I never dropped this. Hell my nokia phone c2-00 dual sim fell 6ft to the hard marble floor but it is still fine...
look what I found:

so sapphire isnt that good at all, yes?
one possible reason probably is that i am always fingering the volume up button. im using the international version btw where the lens an dthe button is flat and too close to each other. this is a flaw to the design. but it's sapphire it shouldnt crack like that.
It magically cracked :-\ that's what they all say.

the point is, for a high end phone with camera lens that cracks on a normal day to day use is not good LG should look into this. If it is heat related, then definitely they should all recall the unit and replace the international version with the Verizon's version. My nokia is still alive after 10+ landings on hard floor.
Well of course it can brake. Everything brakes. The main point of sapphire on lens glass as I believe is that it is very scratch resistant.

One case out of thousands and thousands will not cause a company to look into anything. It might have just had a defect.

Impact break. Left side.
And this crack is from a normal day to day use?...
Not in my opinion. That is definitely not a flaw or internal pressure break. Something hit it, pressed very hard on that one area, or focused pressure on that area.
Its always in my pocket. Probably twisted because sometime when i talk the nillkin case off it sounded like its gonna snap. Lg support in ph wont cover it though. I guess im gonna pay to have the glass replaced. But i can live with this becausd image wuality is not aggected. It just looks ugly.
They are right for not covering it. It is visually end user fault. Can't be to expensive to get it replaced.
I have cracked the screen on my phone, I can see a replacement is available but no videos as yet to show how its done, I'm wondering if its pretty much a generic process with their other models, I'm hoping that the screen is the first part to come away but looking around it seems the everything is attached to the back of the screen, I have replaced iPhone screens before with ease. Has anyone experienced replacing a screen on an umi, are the screws all the same guage.?
I cracked my screen also. i dismantled the phone. However the screen and digitizer is bonded to the metal frame and so appear very complicated to get off. I bought a screen, digitizer and frame combination from Aliexpress and rebuilt the phone using that. I have tried heating the screen with a hair dryer to try to dislodge the screen but with little success so far.

seen a few videos albeit slightly different models and cant see where there is a metal frame bonded to the screen, yours is an umi z pro too ?, i was under the impression the metal part is only the back cover which comes away as a shell, do you have any pictures of yours dismantled ?

it must be glued on somehow, but I cannot prize it away. Must be missing something simple. Anyway Ill keep trying, but would love to find how to do it. I have a broken screen on a spare frame which I would like to repair.

i do believe that is a a bog standard Z, however, i think it is exactly the same apart from the dual lens. The replacement screen i got seems to come with adhesive, not sure about using super glue but then again, it might do a better job, my experience of LCD assemblies which are afixed to a mid frame is that they start coming away, i have seen this mainly on iphone screen replacements but then they are not genuine iphone products, i think i will go ahead and purchase the part. Thanks for the link...will come in handy.
Thanks. i was being far too timid.
i got round to fixing mine, was a very easy job in respect of dismantling the phone and reassembly, the hardest part was removing LCD from mid frame, its time consuming and messy but once removed and cleaned up, putting the screen to frame is easy. The only bug bear i have is that the adhesive that came with the new screen doesnt keep the screen to mid frame very well, i can see why you would super glue it, which i will do i think.
To anyone thinking of doing the job, if you can find a screen complete with the mid frame all in one piece, get it
Screens for Z1 pro are no langer available @ Aliexpress.
Any idea where the can be ordered elsewhere?
LCD-screens for many different UMI phones are now available on Ebay. Prices between 20 and 40 USD.
Also for Z, Z Pro, Z1 and Z1 Pro
Deleted.. sorry, saw wrongly. Thought it was Z Pro..My bad.

I swore expletives because the eBay auction didn't show any scratches, but I figured I could probably fix this myself. I first started with 600 grit sandpaper.
https://imgur.com/ZiVgatj
Got it to a nice matte finish. Then I did 800, and finally 1500.
https://imgur.com/LaTPHpC
It actually didn't look too bad. So finally I took the polishing wheel to it and some cerium oxide, just like that guide mentioned.
https://imgur.com/gMKE58M
Now this takes a really long time. And actually, I'm not thrilled with how it came out. There's some VERY FINE scratches that interfere with the picture. So I'm really looking for a way to buff out very fine scratches on gorilla glass.
I tested all of this earlier on a nexus 5x because it was dead, and I couldn't even cut the screen with a razor. I have no idea how this phone had scratches, but I had to take a dremel to the thing to even emulate a scratch.
Edit: I'm not sure why my images aren't showing up

Oh, weird. I can't see them.
Either way, I figured out the issue and why this should never be attempted. We have an oleophobic coating on our screens that repel grease from your fingerprints. In buffing out scratches, you wipe away this coating.
Also, I need something more fine than Cerium Oxide to buff out scratches like this. There's a reason all the scratch guides are from 2010 and earlier. It doesn't work well on newer phones.
Oh well, back on eBay
Edit: I guess all the money I waste on eBay is not a waste because I'm learning things. Yeah! That's what I'm going to tell myself

I've...had two with this phone. First, while I was still on the Axon7, I bought a phone for 120 with a crack in it. "I'll just replace the lens over the screen" I thought. I demolished the damned phone trying to get the back off it.
My hands were only meant for destruction, it seems.
To be fair, the Axon7 was great replacing the screen. Two grills needed to come off with a heat gun and I was inside the phone. This phone is a goddamned nightmare to get apart.
Anyway, people more skilled than I generally buy the phones off me, so I lose ~$30-50. Nothing I'm gonna lose sleep over.
So I have read some complaints abut Redmi Note 9s/ 9 pro suffering from dust issue under the camera lens, I looked it up on google and it was a MAJOR manufacturing defect with Redmi note 8 series phone (just google it) and now people are posting similar issues with note 9s or 9 pro. Can you guys please give your feedback so we can know if these devices have the same manufacturing flaw?
I've had mine for 2 weeks now and haven't noticed. I will say that I do ride my motorcycle everyday and my phone holder is on the handle bars and I have no wind shield in place. So far so good.
Hehe...so the wind goes through your phone every day. So no surprise that there is no dust in your phone ?
Wanna bring up this thread because it is very serious issue. I think the phone have a faulty design. This error is strange. Now the factories in Indonesia and India are distinctly different. However, the problems encountered were almost the same with the dusty camera. Indonesia version have joyeuse codename, don't know about India release. I'll insert some pictures from the forums I come across.

This one's even worse. An insect got into the camera lens. Live and in circles!

While I'd usually agree, judging by the posts in this thread it seems about on-par with the rest of the 9 Pros people have.
Had dust in my redmi note 9s after 10 days of purchase, Xiaomi refused to fix it under warranty, luckily the dealer from whom i bought the phone is my friend. Given the phone back to him & took a new one.
I have a 1-month note 9S. Dust started to accumulate on me too. Is there a solution?

ask for a unit replacement if in your location there is a xiaomi service place
I didnt have it at first, but its happened to mine too now after about a month. I'm not gonna have it repaired because i dont have a Mi Store in sweden, and they would most likely deny warranty over my unlocked bootloader.
The way i see it, this should be fairly easy to fix by replacing the back glass. Thats assuming the replacement back glass is properly made and doesnt have the same issue.
Have had my phone for 3 weeks, there are already 4-5 very small dust specs under the main camera. Trying to find a way to seal it some way from the outside without altering the aesthetics of the device as giving it to the repair service center will take time...
would a very small bead of hot glue or something around the lens cover prevent this you think?
Just grab a can of pressurized air and blow on the lens edge.
Did it work for you? Where exactly should I place the nozzle of the air spray can? Can you share a photo showing the spot?

I had the same question. I think it wouldn't look particularly nice so the best solution I can think of is a case that has a slider on th back that covers the camera and protects it from dust when not in use.
There are a couple out there.
I have 2 Curtanas. One blue EU since 2 months and one silver global since 1 month. Both cameras are clean, no dust. Even though 1 has been frequently in a dusty environment.
No dust, on my 3 month old Joyeuse.
No such issue on my curtana. Used it for more than four months now.
