[DEV][WIP][APP] Pokémon Go Plus for WearOS - Wear OS Software and Hacking General

Intro: Does anyone else wish they could use their Galaxy Active Smartwatch (SM-R500) to catch Pokémon? Well, I do. Setting out on my mission, I started by purchasing a gotcha from amazon. The logic is to reverse engineer a working device. After making the purchase, I did some more research on the product. As I came to realize there was a companion app the solution was obvious to me. Wasting no time, I decompiled the companion app to reveal that precious source code. What I uncovered, was exactly what I needed.
Contents: I've attached the most useful files for connecting with Pokémon Go Plus ripped from the remnants of that decompiled application.
Summary: This is all still in very early development and should be relatively simple to pull off. With that being said, I also don't have a lot of experience. Don't worry, I'll try my best to get this project working because I know I'm not the only one that could use something like this.

Hey this looks great! I just made an account to let you know this looks like a fantastic idea and I'm really excited to see how it turns out. Has any progress been made so far?

Oh PLEASE make this work, if I can just use my Galaxy Watch 4 as a pokemon go plus I will literally thank you to eternity and back. Also just made an account to let you know and see how it turns out!

Any progress on this where we can try? I'm totally in on helping out

I'm intrigued that this is happening now, just when I bought a smartwatch to play with and found my old go+ in a drawer

Please give us an Update!

$50 bounty from me if we get this working.

Waiting for an update!!! I hope it works!

If you can reverse engineer the app for smart watches, how does that work? Buy a bunch online, add the app, and resell?? I'd invest in that. Only reason I don't own a smartwatch is bc I have to manually spin pokestops. Lol

hay una app desactualizada para relojes que se llamaba pokemondectector no se si esta informacion ayude xd

Reverse Engineering Pokémon GO Plus
TL;DR; You can clone a Pokemon GO Plus device that you own. I have managed to get the certification algorithm. However, there is a per device blob used (specific to a Bluetooth Mac Address) for key generation. I have not figured out how you can generate your own blob and key. Using other's people b

Any progress so far? I'd love to have something like this, and I'm hopeful that the project hasn't been abandoned.

I'd love an update on this too! Ever since i got a wear OS watch a few years ago i've always wondered if a software clone of the gotcha from amazon was possible. I had one for a while before I let it go in the wash >.< and i don't want to spend the money on buying a new one lol.
I'm also a student pursuing a degree in software engineering, i don't have very much experience yet but if i could get my hands on the early build id love to play around with it!

Any news from the project?

I am available to test on a galaxy watch4 o/

Standing by with Samsung Watch 4.

The latest version is 412, yes.
If you type them on the keyboard, you have the option to add them; they're highlighted on the too, in white.
You can just port it, I guess. .

So this community renders useless for people who wanna use your works? Then why should Cyangen/custom roms keep developing? for the developers only? lol I though it was to enhance every users experience on the phone..
Im not asking for you or any1 else to do it. Just though there was some post out there with some1 who had it done so people like me and this guy http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1727669 could be happy.
Anyways, thanks.

Look, maybe you didn't read my entire post. Sure, we want to enhance everybody's device, but we wish something in return, whether you provide us with logs, so we can build better programs/apps/ROMs/kernels or whether you translate an app into your own language, or whether you learn Java and participate in an existing project - Writing a patch for instance.
We don't do everything just because it's our hobby. And the CyanogenMod team wishes for nothing more than community-contribution (Logs, patches, code, translation, etc...)
To that guy in the link: He probably noticed it takes a bit more than just changing permissions and copying files, as the screen sizes are completely different (Screen size refers o everything: PPI, DPI, Size, resolution, density, whatever...). I don't understand why people don't just pull the APKs from the desired ROMs and just see what they can do - Practice makes perfect.
I did and do the same: when I don't understand something, I look online, if I can't find something I see if there's something similar, and if so, I get the source and learn from that. If that isn't the case, I then go and ask. You should do the same.
Good luck finding a port.

Whatever happened to Federico Carnales?

Back a few years in the early days of android. There once was an app called "launcher pro". For anyone that's been around for some time this app will sound very familiar.
I still remember when I first discovered it and the excitement that came whenever I noticed there was an update for it. With each update the launcher became more and more my favorite. So much so, it had become my standard to compare to. Whenever I tried out another launcher I immediately noticed the difference. Nothing else seemed to compare to the responsiveness and overall smoothness of LP. I would always return to LP because the others seemed to pale in comparison to its glory.
It became one of the first apps I installed anytime I got a new phone. To me it had became synonymous with android and its capabilities. I ended up using it as my daily driver for the next couple of years to come.
Unfortunately Ice Cream Sandwich killed compatibility with LP and so ended my long time relationship with one of the best apps I've ever used To this day I still ponder on the incredible potential exhibited through this app by the mind of an amazing developer.
Federico Carnales is/was a staple for the android community and an example what determination and effort can produce. He's been frighteningly absent from the android world for roughly a year and a half now with his applications on the play store even today. However there they lay unsupported and unfit to install in newer versions of android.
So what happened? Where did he go? I recall a letter written to him because many other like minded individuals began scouring the net in fear of his death. I personally gave up searching the net for an answer for his apparent silence.
So am I the only to remember the good ol days of launcher pro? What was your experience with this app?
Does anyone know of his whereabouts?

I'm not sure but I think this should have been placed in the general section. It was meant for more of a general topic than a question. I appreciate your help in moving this to general. Thank you

Try posting in General next time... lol
Ha ha, thanks for the tip.
Why is the right door always locked?
Anyone know? Hope he is ok.
any news?
Word. As an early android user myself Launcher Pro was a beacon of hope for functional, efficient and beautiful app seekers like me. I still remember the impending launch of the social stream widget that would show a combined stream of all my social networks. I could be wrong but I think at the time the only other widget with such a capability was provided by stock launchers. HTC sense if my memory serves me right.
I lost little time in deciding to buy the pro version on what was a launcher that absolutely had no competition for the features I was looking for. I recall even then Frederico would take his time in implementing new features. That was cool because Frederico was connecting to my needs.
I came upon this post when I happened to search for Frederico after chancing upon LP on the play store and being reminded of my early experiences with Android. I too was intrigued to notice that the app hasn't been updated in years.
Wonder what happened to the developer.
It's nothing uncommon for developers just to stop and walk away. It happens everyday. Mainly with Android developers.
I've been using LP since the first Galaxy S phone came out. Was using it until the other day on a Galaxy S5 with Android L. Wanted to try it on the Pocophone now but it's not on Google Play anymore. Awesome piece of work ...
Yeah... i just wanted to re-download it myself a couple days ago and noticed it was missing... i took the time to chat with Google play help, and this is what they gave me in answer, after checking with the Google play team...

Hm.. Im close to 50 posts, but im very interested to review it. I can make English video review and probably advert your product in the biggest magazine in our country.
I do not usually post much on xda, but i´m more than a year in xda. Besides I have a YouTube channel with 2k subscribers where i can do a review and unboxing. I´m very interested
OK I have signed up to be a reviewer on your site.
I don't think I have ever seen a product like this that combines those three items... This would be perfect EDC for me and would go very nicely on my Nite-ize s biner keyring along with my Gerber Dime. I want one!!!?
I'll do it, I've been needing a powerbank since I'm on the move all day for work/school. I could make a pretty good YouTube review too.
I'm in!
I've been looking for a portable charger and this seems to be the perfect one
Hi, I have an LG G3 and a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet, well over 50 posts and 200 thanks. I also contribute stories for an Android blog.
I am a little short on thanks but I thought I would throw this out anyway.
I can test on both the d851 (TMO) and the F460K (Cat6) in military environments
This looks like a really nice idea, even though I own a few spare batteries for my G3. I don't always carry them with me, so I sometimes still run out of power and this looks like a nice emergency solution.
it looks so good, i would like to try it and i can write a post about my comments on it
I would love to review it.
I would like to review this as well
Hello there, this looks quite nice! It would be nice to be able to take part in the test!

I would be more than happy to do a thorough video review, but I am really hesitant on sharing anything and cluttering up other people's social media walls. So... sorry.
Hello Guys, Sorry for delay! Had some hard time finishing campaign on indiegogo!
Thank you All for application! We are trying to get as many review samples as possible (for sure it will be more than one!) and will have final results on Tuesday!
Review samples will be sent in October when we will run first production.
Please consider me. I have been on xda for awhile and i review products on youtube.
Hello Everyone!
Thank you very much for applying!
We would like to give free samples to all of you, but unfortunately only have 4 samples available now. Based on your stats we will provide samples to:

Came across an awesome bible app

I'm a new believer. I was looking for a great bible app to start studying bible. But there are just tons of bible apps in the play store. I didn't know which one to choose.
So I installed several of them. There is one I came across that really stunned me. The app is called Bible. Its icon is purple. Not girly purple though. It's developed by iDailybread.org. Its easy to use. I don't have to think when I use it. Just...everything is on the table. I look at it and just know how to use.
Being easy to use is just one thing that makes me like it. It's how useful it is that made me stick to it. As a new believer, I didn't know much about how to read the bible, like in what order, like how much I should read in a day, etc.. This app offers a verse for a day and there were a lot of other info on the verse, like a hand-picked image, thoughts and prayer on the verse, a devotional on the verse. All these materials help me go deep into the bible.
There is another section in the app - Devotion, where I could find multiple sources of devotionals. I like devotionals on Our Daily Journey, by pastor Rick Warren, pastor Billy Graham, and on another website which I can't recall now.
Reading plans is also a big feature in that app. I think they have more than 100 reading plans, each on a specific topic. I could go to those plans when I'm in a crisis or when I need to renew myself.
Apart from what I said, does anybody know other Christian materials that could help me with bible study? I'm wondering if there are websites offering Christian videos, audios or bible stories. Also, I'm thinking maybe I can use some bible study tools like commentaries or notes. But have no idea where I could get them. Hope someone could give me a clue.
If you are, like me, a new believer, you may start here. If you are an old believer, I bet you could find something useful too.
Search "Bible Verse" in Google Play and you'll see this app. Hope you all like it.
Search "Bible Verse" in Google Play. The one by iDailybread.org is it!
I could tell it's a good bible app.

[Music streaming] Panda Radio

Hey guys. I've been a long time lurker at XDA, and since I recently graduated I traded my spare time for beginning my story with App Development. Currently I am learning to code properly and working on first serious app that I could publish, but in the meantime using AppInventor and Andromo just to have the extra motivating push of knowing how it feels to actually create something. Needless to say, that's what I did, and despite the simplicity and amateur-ishness of my first creation, I love how it feels and makes me want to make actually great stuff.
I wanted to find a special place to post said first ever creation and what would it be other than a development board closest to my heart, where I've read countless advice and obtained so many amazing software creations in form of custom ROMs? So I decided this will be it and for this app probably the only place I post this.
I know the app is not actually a fancy utility and that the quality is also far from being up to par (it doesn't crash and uses a tiny amount of resources though!), the app was made with thought of how I like spending time - I wanted a simple and minimalistic (resource-light) radio player with a nice atmosphere that would just seamlessly allow me to choose between music I listen to sleep, to relax/study or if I feel like something more nostalgic like old school Nintendo soundtracks. As a bonus it also includes an Anime radio. I did not want confusion of choosing the right radio stream, I just included carefully picked, one best for each category. And so it is, exactly that and just that, with a pleasant Panda background. Still I would deeply appreciate if you guys could just check it out and give it a try. Just with a thought that it's my first app, with hopes that there will be many actually good ones to come.
I will maintain this app to make sure it works properly just due to its sentimental value, so if you know anyone who would actually enjoy it, please feel free to share.
Thanks for everything guys!
And this is it:

I think you can tap into an interesting group of people. If you polish it up a bit and add a few more features and stations, you can have a real serious product here!
Do you have to have licensing for these songs in order to make money off the app?
I would love an exclusive 8bit video game soundtrack. One that would pump you up, whether it be while studying or going for a jog or even just driving around.

Thank you very much for the feedback, I really appreciate it.
As for the radios, most of them are Shoutcast stations used with permission of their creators and the app aggregates those. I would not be unfortunately able to maintain several 24/7 radio streams at a time.
I will actually keep that in mind about the 8bit gaming music, I think that is a great suggestion. I tried to somewhat make that happen with the gaming music radio station included in the app.
In the meantime I tried to follow on the radio idea and sort-of reused it in a more refined and so far thus more successful app aimed at relaxation and meditation:

I just launched it and it got enough active users to get itself in the popular category for meditation music!
Next step, going for writing raw code for the apps, since with my current ones I helped myself with code generators, to start things off. It still takes a lot of time and effort that unfortunately doesn't pay itself off, but I'm doing it as a hobby, since I didn't choose app development as my career. I wish to stick to it to make only better apps, it is very satisfying to me, so maybe I chose a wrong career after all!
Thank you very much, and thanks everyone who checked my apps out! This place has always been one I looked up to for great developer brains and community.

I would love an exclusive 8bit video game soundtrack. One that would pump you up, whether it be while studying or going for a jog or even just driving around.

Actually.. I took your request to heart and made such app! It plays all sorts of video game music, with 19 stations just playing different varieties of game soundtracks, it includes oldies and 8bit video game soundtracks too. I just published it:
