Question Possible to Set Battery Charge Limit? - Realme GT

I just got this phone and rooted it systemless using Magisk. My previous phone had a battery charge limiter built in, but for the Realme GT that doesn't seem to be the case. I downloaded Battery Charge Limit but it seems to have no effect. From what I understand you have to figure out the path to some file... I have no idea where that would be on this phone or if it's even possible. Has anyone done this before?

Battery stats are jumping and showing inconsistent information
Hello,
I have a strange problem with my rooted and S-OFF’ed Aria for the last six months and I have been trying to find a solution or a fix to the problem ever since.
The battery percentage is always incorrect and never shows any percentage value greater than 30 even after 8-10 hours of charging and drains within an hour phone shuts off. The phone is basically useless for me right now.
I did try all the calibration methods and other solutions (listed below) that I could find in the web and the forums here, but none seem to have fixed the issue.
Soft Reset
Hard Reset
Format System, data, cache partitions
Installed all available ROMs in the community (Liberated, CM 6, CM 7, Stock Original, Stock Update for 2.1, Stock Update with Froyo (2.2) etc).
Battery Calibration of all known procedures (Delete batterystats, discharge fully, recharge fully etc)
Did a task 29 (fastboot oem task 29)
Replaced with a brand new original battery from ATT.
Now with S-OFF, I cannot fully revert to Stock version or send it for Warranty repairs etc (Is there a way to revert to S-ON)?
So now turning on to the experts in this community to help me out and you guys are really awesome in guiding others and fixing things. Hoping to hear from someone.
Btw, I found a similar symptoms and “solution” in the Atrix forum. Please refer link below.

Have you tried wiping battery stats, then just using the phone normally? (not letting the battery totally discharge, etc.)
Did the problem only start happening after you S-OFF, or did it happen before then?
It does sound to me like there's nothing you would be able to do about the problem, except reverting to S-ON and sending the phone in for warranty service. Supposedly there is a method for doing this although I have no idea how complicated it would be. You should probably go to the #liberatedAria IRC channel to ask about how to do it.
Thanks for your reply, drumist
Yes, I tried wiping the batterystats and used the phone normally for couple weeks, still no difference.
The problem started months before I did S-OFF, possibly due to multiple format, flash of ROMs etc. Somehow the phone or the battery doesn't know the correct readings/voltage data.
The max voltage on a full 8-10 hours charge that I have seen is only 3.8 v (new and old battery) and ideally it should be >4 v for a full charge.
Thanks,

Yeah. It sounds to me like the mechanism in the phone that is supposed to charge the battery is failing to charge it above a certain threshold. Either that or the mechanism that measures the voltage is failing. You could figure out which one is the case by measuring the battery's voltage with a multimeter if you have one.
I know this is a long shot, but have you tried charging the phone with a different USB cable, or with a different USB power adapter, or by plugging into a different power socket in the wall (or using a different computer if you are charging through a computer USB port)?
Today I tested both batteries using a multimeter and both had voltage > 4 (old battery: 4.19 v new 4.18 v). I tested this after charging the batteries through the phone, so it proves phone charging is working fine and the batteries are good.
Then I went to CWM and deleted the batterystats, pulled the battery out, waited for couple minutes, put it back in and restarted to generate a fresh stats file.
But the voltage displayed in the phone is totally wrong (3456 mv) and showed 20%, so there is something wrong with how the phone understands full battery voltage and percentage.
I waited for the phone to discharge and shut off (which was <10 mins), then checked the battery voltage in multimeter, it was still good at 4.10 v (lost only about .09 mv).
Is there anything that we can do to override or correct the voltage and percentage in the phone?
Thanks,

Nothing that I'm aware of.

Request modification of any kernel samsung n7000

Hi, on my notes has failed circuit that detects the temperature of the battery not being detected then that is read as-20c.
At this point it is impossible rcaricare using the battery because the phone detects that the temperature is too low for charging and I have to charge it with an external charger. As the rest of the phone is operating at 100% wondering if it was possible with a modification to the kernel reading this fool doing so recharge the battery to the phone. Obviously I am not able to make this change and I'm going to guess that both the kernel to communicate that value to the processor. If someone is able to solve the problem would avoid even the purchase of an additional battery to be exchanged while reloading the other. For me it would be fine even if the message remains too low temperature break ... important to disable the battery charging.

Can't calibrate the battery

I did calibrated my battery with the root method and the charge-discharge methods two times now, but still it charges from 0 to 100 in 40 minutes (which is not possible, it's not really 100%) the phone keeps charging according to accubattery and the battery tab in configuration
If I unplug right when it says 100% the batter drains hella fast (even if i dont use it)
The solution is keep the phone plugged until it says charged in rhe battery screen which takes an extra 40 minutes before reaching 100%
But how to fix this wrong information? Is driving me nuts
Probably the cable?
If I reboot the phone when it reaches 100% it drops to about 85%, and when it reaches 100% and reboot it again it drops but now to 90~ and so on for a few times
Any help would be appreciated! I'm using AOSIP btw, but this have happened in all roms
Heyyo, from what I was told for battery calibration the only proper way to do it is to run EUI ROM for about a week.
If you're inclined to try that to fix battery calibration? I'd recommend the versions by ChrisBalGreece. Debloated and already has good mods to make EUI ROM more enjoyable and less odd. :good:
After that? You can try a custom Oreo ROM again and battery should be properly calibrated.
Sometimes too with custom ROMs I've observed that the Quick Charge 3.0 isn't as accurate as it should be and can even stop charging if it thinks the battery temperature is too high... Unfortunately without updated kernel source code from LeEco it's something we cannot 100% solve so I'd recommend trying to charge with a 5V 2Amp charging block and see what happens as well.
ThE_MarD any eui 5.8 rom will work? i have flashed your 30s firmware of your lineageos thread will it work with that or i have to change firmware?
i have the original charger and cable
Well, I used to have that annoying problem, I made a research to find a solution, and something worked for me, Now my battery is perfectly calibrated. Well, I don't know if it would work for anyone else, but, you don't lose nothing trying right?
The first thing I did was install this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.exkernelmanager , and Configured the "saver mode" to low frequency of processor and activated it. Then I installed this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.slash.batterychargelimit and activated the limit to 95% for high level and 90% to low level of battery charging, and after a couple of times charging and discharging my battery with that method now my battery magically calibrated itself, and now I can install any Oreo ROM with no problem, of course it is not necessary to use that saver mode all the time, but works really good. I have to say that now I am using "personalized resurrection remix" and it works fast as hell with the most complete tools for personalizing the phone (the best one for me), and it has an extreme good performance for gaming, of course not the best for battery, but there you can use and configure the saver profile of the app I mentioned, and you will have the best ROM available now. (Tryed a lot of them).
Thanks for reading. (Don't forget to install magisk for root, without that, nothing will happen)

How to Set to What Percentage the Battery Will Charge?

The issue regarding charging the battery to keep the battery life as long as possible has always been debated for several years. There are many out there who either believe that it's now safe to charge however you want because of the modern technology and safety mechanism implemented on the phone. I still have this uneasiness though, particularly my battery health is about 85% after just one year of usage. I used to charge over night but I have dropped that habit about one or two months ago. Now that my phone is rooted, I wonder if there's a way to set the limit when we're charging the battery so in case I forget to plug it out or I want to leave it overnight but I still don't want it to charge to 100% I can do it.

i'm using this... propably the same as @tiennhu89?
it does need root but it works perfectly for me on poco eu miui 10.3.8

yeah, thats it
Interesting
I just use a budi charger - I set it to charge for an hour as I go to bed. I wake in the morning and my phone's at 80-90% when I wake
Bingo
Edit
This would do the trick
There this Magisk module called IPC "Input Power Control" that basically automatically switches charging off when battery level reaches a certain disable threshold and back on as soon as it drowns to enable threshold.
Look it up here in Github if you want to know more
https://github.com/Magisk-Modules-Repo/IPControl
To all people who helped me, thanks a lot. Now I don't have to worry about charging my phone to 100% anymore if I forget. It works like a charm. 10/10 would customize something else again.
No matter how far battery technology has come, it is STILL a bad practice to keep a phone plugged in over night. The constant trickle charging deteriorates battery faster. Also never fully charge a battery and also never let a battery fully drain.
I charge my phone to 80%
And never let it go below 20%
If you need my sources for proof, let me know.
There are two scientific studies done specifically on this.

Charging issue with custom kernels and roms on POCO F1

Hi everybody, if anyone is facing charging issues ,here is a few things I tried so you dont have to:
1. Flashed both force charge 2600mAh and 3300mAh magisk modules
2.Flashed another force charge module
3.Used D8G thermals and fast charge
4.Used many different kernels,
5.Re-calibrated the battery
but all in vain, the charging issue persisted, sometimes I had a ramped up charging, around 2700mAh,but one reboot and it would go to negative(yes acutally losing charge while plugging in).
So I noticed something, the battery temperature going above 40c caused the charging to decrease, if one could decrease the battery temperature and turn the screen off,the charging wont be rapid but still would charge(i mean it wont lose charge on plugging), but playing games while charging , I went upto 90% charge and started losing charge again(what a pain). So I tried changing thermal-engine.conf file located in vendor/etc folder to see if I could change the threshold of the temperatures, but still failed,
So I've actually reverted back to the stock ROM for now and I'm looking around the thermal threshold in stock ROM for now.
Hope I'll find something and would share it with you guys soon.
P.S If anyone has a solution please share
