Has anyone managed to change the CSC on the S7 T870? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 / S7 Plus Questions & Answer

I want to change the CSC from ARO (Argentina) to KOO (Korea) in order to get updates faster.
I've tried SamFW FRP Tool and I get:
Code:
Checking ADB connection...
Using port SAMSUNG Mobile USB Modem (COM3)
Enabling ADB... FAIL
Changing CSC to KOO ... FAIL
Rebooting... OK
I've also tried flashing the KOO firmware through Odin and everything seems to be ok but once it's finished I check the CSC on SamFW FRP and it still shows CSC: ARO.
And on Software Information (on the tablet), it shows OXM_ARO as well. This is extra weird because the update itself installs just fine. But the CSC region won't change.
Finally I've also tried the Google Phone Go apk + *#*#27262826#*#* method. Doesn't work either since there's no Google phone apk for tablets and the phone version just doesn't do anything.
Any hep is appreciated.

The output can aim you to the right direction. You need to troubleshoot why your ADB is not connecting.

ADB works fine. This same program uses ADB to read the device info and that works.
It only throws that error when trying to change the CSC. I think theres an error with this particular device since I've read a few post from other users having this issue as well.

[Q]Can I update through Kies?

I want to update to PKL which is available on Kies in Poland. The problem is, I can't update my Galaxy Ace through Kies. I got "This device cant be updated" error.
I've updated using Odin if thet matters.
yea i got this same problem...i was on VillainROMv1 then i flashed it back to XXKA6 2.2.1 stock PDA:KA9 PHONE:KA6 CSC:KA5 on Kies in Trinidad an it says "This version of the device cannot be updated." can anyone help
You have to flash a multi csc and pick your correct country code in the *272* code
Sent from my GT-S5830 using Tapatalk
Can I flash just csc or I need to flash full rom that has multi csc at samfirmware?
Also how do the *272* code works?
GT-S5830 Galaxy Ace - Tapatalk
I think the CSC only will work, but I am not sure, the *#272*IMEI# and you will be presented with a menu where you can choose the correct country code, but beware that this will restore your rom to factory settings
So, can I install PKL using Odin but just replace just CSC for MultiCSC from other FW for future use?
I dont think so since the multi csc is from froyo.
Is WKB7 a good choice?
What are you thinking about? your original question was how you could update via KIES, I gave you that answer and now you're wondering about arranging the pda/csc options yourself, either you want it on your correct country code or not
The only way do do that is either to have a multi CSC or FKP3 which is Poland's newest csc afaik
I mean: Is WKB7 and matching Multi-CSC combo good to change csc and update using KIES, but...

i have samsung galaxy ace
i have a problem.
There is a windows 7 x64 home premium sp1 system on my desktop pc.
I'm tried a lot of times install my phone driver but it alvays unsucessfull.
I installed the latest kies, but when i plug my phone to pc,the kies can't install usb modem driver.
a tried uninstall with revo uninstaller, and reinstall, but that i still can't use my phone with my desktop pc.
but my phone works great with my laptop (winxp x86 sp3 professional)
i 'd like use my phone with my pc,but i can't..
please help
Uninstall KIES. This should uninstall drivers. Then on Win7x64 connected to the internet connect Galaxy Ace. It should automatically find drivers on Windows Update. This trick works for me.
Ok. I've installed PKL update with FKP3 CSC but I still got "device can't be updated". However, in *#272*IMEI# menu i have multiple CSCs. Which one is for Poland? Now selected is PRT. And there is no XEO on list.
Also swype its missing Polish language.
Edit:
Flashed WKB7 with Multi-CSC, changed code to XEO (Polish one) and "device can't be updated" again.
Is Odin my only way of updating my Galaxy Ace?
And I foud this: http://samsung-mobile.com.pl/forum/Thread-i5500-how-to-revert-back-to-original-firmware-updating-through-kies. But I don't know what to put into all these fields.
Edit 2:
Flashed KPK and everything works. Polish language in Swype and Kies updates BUT there is no Polish CSC in *#272*.
Flashed KPN - no Kies updates but has Polish CSC.

[Q] Please help me with the CSC problem

my galaxy s2 is GT-I9100. i saw a jellybean update is on kies so i did the update. However after i did the 4.2.1 update, i found out my CSC was changed! before the jellybean update, it was TGY(HongKong) after the updates, it changed to XSP(Singapore)...WTF.............
Also i cannot change the CSC anymore. i tried using CSC select to change my CSC, but it says "com.android.Precnfig not found on your device. Manual mode..." not only in phone, Kies also says my device is unable to do S/W upgrade or something.
BTW i haven't done any rooting. i don't know why after i did the jellybean update, it shows these kinds of problems.
please give me some solution or any feedback!
re-flash.
Sent from the little guy
changing csc code in jellybean requires root access.
i rooted and tried csc select but there is no csc to select from.
anybody know why?
Did you solve this problem?

try doing this:

But substitute the firmware used in this guide with yours. Enjoy

Unroot/flash Galaxy S 7 (SM-G930V/F?) to Stock Firmware or G930VVRS4BQC9

Hey Guys,
I've come across my limit of knowledge during the past days.
I purchased this new phone, "Samsung Galaxy S 7".
When I look up the "About phone" option in "Settings", it says, that it's a SM-G930F with android verison 6.0.1.
I couldnt find ANYTHING according to my Build number, which says: MMB29M.G930FXXU1BPIA or that my Smart Switch says, that the software version would be PIA(VZW).
But when I go into Download/Odin-Mode there are the following text lines:
ODIN MODE (HIGH-SPEED)
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G930V
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS: OFFICIAL
FAP LOCK: OFF
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
RP SWREV: B4(2,1,1,1,1) K1 S3
SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE
So, both informations are dividing from each other, because the first says it's a SM-G930F and the second says it's a SM-G930V, except that both have in common, that they say system status is official.
But, my problem is, as you can see, it's still marshmallow that is installed on my Galaxy S 7 and in my settings there is absolutely no possibility to update my phone to nougat.
I've tried several things via Odin like installing: Stock firmware for ADB, Nougat firmware for ADB, Stock firmware for VZW, Nougat firmware for VZW
But just nothing worked out.
Most common issues I had with Odin were: "sboot.bin FAIL!, recovery.img FAIL!, Complete(Write) operation failed.", depending on what kind of files I tried to apply, like pit file, AP-File, Home_CSC-File, etc...
Even if i tried to solve it with the most common troubleshoting methods i could find on google, there would be another issue, like a never ending story.
I also tried applying a firmware with recovery mode but there it says: E: "footer is wrong” ,followed by “E: signature verification failed", even if my SD-Card has never been encrypted.
I dont have any idea what to do anymore,
so i would extremely appreciate some help of a pro, who can tell me, what to do exactly.
Thank you!
*EDIT*
I managed to unroot the phone with the verzon nougat firmware but now it won't let me use the phone with a diferent SIM-card than a Verizon's and I'm going to return the phone.
Hi,
I'm facing the exact same problem.
Which Verizon firmware did you use to unroot your phone?
Thanks!

I managed to flash the latest Verizon ROM (SM-G930V_1_20170330100826_87cd9631jd_fac). Now it is obviously branded and I always get a message (after reboot/after ending airplane mode, so everytime the phone connects to a cellular network) that I'm using a non-verizon sim card. Nevertheless, after manually adding the APN, everything works fine, no SIM lock.
Edit: it works even better with this stock ROM w/o branding: updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=EF06A1ED34EB11E7963AFA163EE8F90B
Same Problem
Its showing 930f in my phone information
but when i go into download mode it shows 930v
cant update my phone it's still stuck in ****ty marshmallow
i would highly appreciate any sort of help.. TIA

you have the exact same issue as me. I suggest you review this thread, it would be helpful.
In summation, you have a converted phone. you can flash Verizon's rom if you want nougat. But that didn't help with my network issues.
Same problem
is this phone is not official what's the matter please explain
I'm also having the OP's exact same problem? I thought the phone I had just bought off gumtree was fake. I'm in Australia and noted that the model one the sticker on the back on my device is SM-G930F, the "about" page lists it as SM-G930F running 6.0.1, odin lists the as model SM-G930V, smart switch as PIA(VZW), CPU-Z as having it having a Snapdragon processor and finally the paper instruction manual is for a SM-9300 (China) - WTH!?
I cant seem to figure out which device it was or is ha! I believe it may be a chinese device that has been flashed to american standard. Is the the core point here, are these perhaps all flashed/refurbed chinese models?
Long story short, i'm not having any problems but i want a newer OS like oreo or nougat - if I flash to say SM-G930U standard with XAA (generic, samsung branding), will i begin having network issues in Australia?

Am I doing something wrong? I can't change my CSC

Hey guys, while I am not new to this, it has been several years.
I recently got a used unlocked Comcast/Xifinity S21. I have a T-mobile SIM card.
I tried flashing the rom to stock U1 which worked great but my signal is poor. While connected to Wi-Fi, the mobile networks/Network Operators in settings shows "T-mobile Wi-Fi Calling". But while I am not connected to Wi-Fi, the Network Operators shows Xfinity Mobile.
Under software information, it shows: CCT/CCT/CCT
How I can fix this? I made sure to not click the HOME_CSC when using ODIN, and I even did this twice. Should I just try the U firmware instead? Or was this because I left the USERDATA section blank in ODIN? (I used XAA, and then TMB a second time under Frija to download the files though).
Thank you for your help
Facing the same issue with my unlocked S21 from Xfinity Mobile - now using it on VZW but I can't get Wi-Fi calling to work at all... the toggle for it isn't even there! Haven't found a way to change the CSC.
It doesn't matter the SIM, even an AT&T SIM card displays as "Xfinity Mobile" on this phone!
Update: I was able to use SamKEY to change the CSC to VZW!
Instructions:
You need to buy one credit from a reseller on eBay and download the program on samkey.org
Then turn on Developer Options in Android, and from there, turn on USB Debugging.
Connect your phone to your PC, then run the SamKEY program.
Login with the credentials you obtained from the eBay reseller, put TMB into the "Change CSC (buyer)" box, and click "CHANGE CSC"!
During the process, the phone will ask you to grant permission to your PC, don't forget to allow it (promptly), or else the program will exit, without changing your CSC.
As to which firmware to use, I'm tempted to say the TMB firmware might be the most reliable in your situation?
I'm using the latest VZW "991U" firmware and all the carrier features are working properly now.

Hey thanks for this!
I'm ready to change it but I get a warning using SamKey. Just wanted to see if you got the same warning or not:
"You phone has Special Carrier settings!
ITS NOT RECCOMENDED TO CHANGE CSC ON THIS MODEL.
Because Security area (SEC) may get "Relocked" and NO WAY TO UNLOCK IT again!!!
Are you sure YOU WANT TO CONTINUE CHANGE CSC?"
As you would imagine, just wanted to double check with you and see if you got this same warning or not.
Thanks! If not, I'll try doing a freshwipe and firmware and seeing if I get the same warning.

ignore my last post. I did a fresh wipe and tried again and didn't get that error. The CSC has now changed to TMB and already my signal has shot up. Thank you again so much!

What if I didn't fresh install and continue changing the CSC with this warning? What would happen?
