I've just received my first android TV box, this one
https://banggood.onelink.me/zMT7/wda08nyk, and I was wondering if anyone knew where I can go to get alternative ROMs for it? I'm specifically looking for Android TV based ROMs, as it ships with standard android (pretending to be a pixel 3).
I haven't found any. It's still a very new device. There are updated stock FW, though. Not much of an improvement. Here are updated stock Images.
Hello
Same problem here, it is pretending to be Googlre pixel 3
Any idea when would someone make Android TV based ROM?
If you own one of these H618 devices, can you please run the following command on your device to see if it has malware similar to the T95 H616?
Code:
adb shell "getprop ro.product.device ; [ -d '/data/system/Corejava' ] && echo 'Corejava exists' ; ! [ -d '/data/system/Corejava' ] && echo 'Corejava not present'"
Thanks!
Hi I am trying to connect my android box T95z plus to a Samsung tv, but when I try the signal is not getting though, although the hdmi connection is found there is a red cross symbol by the hdmi icon on TV.
However I can connect the Bix to my other fire tv with no issue and same cable!
This is really driving me mad.
And advice greatfully received thanks in advance

this issue is common, the tvboxes don't support every possible resolution out there, your tv may have a specific resolution or refresh rate that isn't supported by the tv box, so the tv box can't switch to the correct resolution because it doesn't exist.
i'm not by my tv box now, but if i recall correctly, there is usually an option to disable automatic switching to the correct resolution, you can turn that off so the box doesn't automatically switch to a resolution the TV chooses. then plugin the box to a monitor or another tv, choose a resolution manually on the tv box, then plug it back to the samsung tv, if still no signal, repeat the process with a different resolution.
this worked for me with 2 tv boxes Q96+ and HiMedia Q5 or Q7 i can't recall, but also hasn't worked with every box that did that, so it's a hit or miss.
good luck
You may want to try something like THIS. I had similar issues with both h616 and h618 boxes. In the settings for display, the h616 had a toggle for TV HDMI control.

hi
just received a micro HDMI -> HDMI adapter, and tried the connection to my Sony Bravia LCD TV (KDL-40W4000).. it seems to be working OK, but i wanted to ask you all, if you have the same experience as i do.. just to be clear, i'm now on latest ICS international beta..
when using the device vertically (like a phone) the resolution/picture seems to be 1:1 (the picture/fonts/graphics looks OK, like there is no resizing), but when i use the device horizontally, the picture is not 1:1, and i can see that the picture is resized/stretched.. looks like a different resolution than 720p/1080p.. my TV automatically selects 1080p mode when i connect MediaPad..
anybody know what the HDMI output resolution of Media with ICS and those who still have honeycomb on their tablets.. anyone tried this with their TVs, Monitors? what's your experience?
this person is using MediaPad with Honeycomb -> monitor and it looks OK to me in both vertical/horzontal positions..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFI0FluhNq4
thanks a lot
My TV is 720p only, and I am not even seeing any video on the display, whereas it worked completely fine under Honeycomb.
Not sure what's going on with mine...
i've installed HC 3.2 (B016) to try this out, and it works.. the output looks great on my TV .. the resolution is definately is 1:1, so it looks like a real 720p/1080p output, and not that crappy picture from ICS.. so it looks like a bug/software issue of the beta versions of ICS released so far for MediaPad.. i hope it will be corrected in the final version..
The hdmi out is indeed crappy witch ics. Its not scaled correctly, the mediapad is recognized as 1080,-but its more of a 4:3 ratio.
Connected a sixaxis with bluetooth to the pad and wanted to play some shadowgun on the tv, but the result is just poor.
Lets see what the final version brings.
Try * # * # 2846579 # * # * activity->testing
->project menu act->Hdmi Test and check the box
I get 720*480 on that test. DVD resolution, don't know if that's normal.

yeah, i get the same result.. when i tick the checkbox under HMDI test, my TV switched to a "480p" mode, so it's definatelly a DVD resolution.. nevertheless the picture is more "watchable" than the "1080p" output when the checkbox is not ticked..
what's strange is that when i tryed the output on a totally unknown brandname TV in a hotel (i was on a trip the last two days), it was a small LCD tv, definatelly max. 720p, the picture from MediaPad was OK :\

When I connect the supplied HDMI cable between my Xperia S and TV*, I get a notification that HDMI is connected. However, TV launcher doesn't start so I cannot see anything on the TV screen.
Is it possible that an app I have installed is interfering with TV launcher?
Anything else I can try?
Xperia S on O2 UK, TV launcher is v 1.0.A.0.11.
*I've tried 3 different TVs with the same result.
I've now found a TV that it works on, so I know it's not my phone. New question: why doesn't it work on every TV?
Do you select HDMI input on your TV or you just wait until it shows up on TV screen? If the second, bear in mind some TV (if not set) they won't go to HDMI automatically.

Yes, I ensure that I select the correct input. For example on my Toshiba I use HDMI 4 which I choose before connecting the phone. When I do this, the blue Toshiba screen turns to black which probably indicates that something is physically connected to that input, but nothing happens on the phone other than the notification. I did the same on an Asus TV/Monitor and TV launcher starts. On an LG monitor at work it says that it's out of range.

I don't have a Sony TV to test it on. It has only worked for me on an Asus 24T1E TV/ Monitor.
Works for me on my BenQ PC Monitor

I have an LG monitor at work and it doesn't work on that. I thought HDMI meant it would work on any display with HDMI inputs.
Hello,
I've same trouble with my samsung TV. Same notifications but no picture on TV
Anynet+ and CEC activated, etc...
I'm thinking this fonction is not for all TV

My phone works fine with my sony bravia tv, i can operate almost everything with my tv remote except i cant input text like in google search...
the keypad opens up but i cant select the alphabets on it, any ideas?
Fixed with ICS
The problem appears to be fixed with the ICS update.
My TV is a Samsung LE32C450E1WXXH with anynet+ CEC support and I had this problem. The best way is the update. This was helped me 'cause before the software uptade the TV doesnt recognise the remote control command to my Xperia P. But after that i turned on the Anynet+ and VOILAA that works!
Hi All,
I've bought this Android box from Amazon : "Xsbox S805 - Android Smart Tv Box Amlogic Quad-core 1g/8g 1080p Wi-fi Network Xbmc Kodi 14.0 H.265 Android 4.4 Tv Player Black". Unfortunately as I have just registered I can't post a link.
I've connected a wireless USB mouse and keyboard and it works fine. However, whenever I press the G key the browser pops up. Even if I am on a web page searching for something when the G key is pressed another browser window is opened. Somehow it would appear that the key has been programmed as a shortcut. Has anyone else encountered this problem and knows how to remove/ fix it? I've looked through all the settings and I can't find anything. Google also has on this occassion has not been my friend.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Old thread but since went unanswered, here's a good guide to customizing your android keyboard mappings..

Hi,
i have bought an mx10 tvbox, i am connecting to video composite to rca on screen fujitsu plasmavision w 50". That screen is oldie but 1080 capable, i tried to connect the tv box to the screen with the hdmi cable and a converter to dvi-d in the other side but that doesnt work, you only see the initial boot screen and then you can see on the screen OUT OF RANGE and then nothing. i have read you need to change the hdmi auto to manual resolution on the tv box, for that i used a newer display connecting hdmi to hdmi an tried all of the resolutions manually wich i changed on the newer display and then connecting to the older with the same result, no image at all only the boot MX10 screen. I´ve tried all of them including 720 and even 480 and again no result, do you know what could be happening or how can i make the tvbox to display on my older screen thru dvi-d?
thanks in advance, i have some advanced knowledge on linux/android/windows. i even tried connecting my windows laptop to the older screen with the same cable configuration and it worked perfect at 1366 x 768, have even tried changing resolution on tv box with "adb shell ws (several configurations)" same result at all, what could be posibly wrong if windows laptop displays flawless on my old screen but not my tvbox, how can i fixit please? any experienced member?
hi...i have same problem too... anyone can help??
i use MX10 Pro 6k...
i cannot find the Display settings to change the resolution
Sorry if this is not the right place but I did not know where else to post and I know there is a lot of the appropriate knowledge here.
I have an S912 T95Zplus Android TV box that I bought on Amazon a bit over a year ago. It is Android 7.1.2 and it boots to a program that says SmartTV Box and runs a version of Kodi 17.6 that they call KDplayer.
The main "problem" is that I have a 15+ year old HDTV Mitsubishi WS65313 that was from before HDMI. It *does* have one DVI port that Mitsubishi calls "MonitorLink/DVI" and says it follows the EIA-861 standard.
Using a DVI<->HDMI cable I am able to get the TV to display the output from the Android box. SOMETIMES. With a LOT of messing around. Once I get it set up, sometimes it will behave for several days, sometimes I will lose it on the next power off/on.
The max. the TV can do is 1080i. SOMETIMES this option is available in the "Droid Settings" app, sometimes only 1080p, 720p and 480p.
There is no way to manually force the TV into a certain resolution and the T95Zplus loses it SOMETIMES even though I set it to not automatically go to the best resolution.
When they are out of sync obviously only garbage is displayed on the TV. When this happens I either have to take the TV box and connect to computer monitor and force resolution to 480p OR manually switch (via audio receiver - sorry I forgot to tell you that was in the middle too) to a WD TV Live Streaming box I also have connected, the WD box then negotiates the TV into a good display, and when I switch back to the Android box I get about one second where I can see enough of an image to navigate the menus. After a few switches I can go though the menus and change the resolution back to 480 and get the Android box back online again.
The main thing I am asking is: Is there a way to get the Android box to always offer me the full list of resolutions? This way at least I could get back 1080i on the first try. I have tried all kinds of combinations of rebooting the Andoid box with the other stuff powered on, off, all at the same time, etc. Just when I think I have it figured out it screws me again and I am stuck on 480p until one day 1080i magically appears again.
I am hoping there is a configuration file somewhere, or maybe one I can create, to make it always display the full set of resolutions. I'm sure it has something to do with negotiation of capabilities when it boots up, but obviously the TV is very old and doesn't even have the ability to update firmware. The Adnroid I know can do what I need because sometimes it does it, but it sure is a pain and I never know when I will get the 1080i option again.
Unfortunately a new TV is not possible at this time.
THANKS in advance.
