IF YOU AQRE GETTING ERROR MESSAGE == "mobile network not available"
Ok here is steps again for you.
1. i downloadeD orignal samsung firmware of my country from www.samfirmware.com
2. Then i flashed it via odin.
3.then i rooted my phone. you can see old post about how to root. thats easy.
4. then i went to my samsung custumer service center. he was my friend. just switch your mobile On n connect it to there pc. he opened a software named SAMSUNG 3G TOOL. n there i see option REPAIR IMEI. he just clicked in it. then i typed my orignal Imei and pressed Ok.
And it done in 10 seconds.. n phone got restarted automatic.
I seen my imei changed n got my network back . i was happy.
Note#
cynogenmod 7 & cynogenmod 9 both are crap for samsung galaxy s2.
Because there is no android market and network on/off instaly.. u cannot make call if u install that. so beter use orignal samsung firmware in s2.

Go out and buy a search engine [/B]then search XDA for IMEI and EFS fixes or even go as far as reading the stickies .

i have not made efc backup and i edited the current efc and restored.. later i deleted efc & started phone.
still its same imei= 00499901064000
i want to get my real imei back so i can connect to network n make call/sms.
any else idea to fix this issue??

Follow this steps
1. Install orignal firmware of samsung.
( after installing orignal firmware you can get imei back automatic.)
If 1st step not work then follow step 2 n step 3.
2. Root your mobile
3. go to nearrst samsung service center and ask them to change your imei back to orignal imei.

How was it fixed? Please tell in detail.
1. Did you take your phone to the Service Centre and they fixed it? If yes, which service centre did you go to? (location)?
Or
2. did you get your IMEI back by flashing original firmware? By original you mean which firmware? Pls give the BUILD NUMBER of the original and from where did you get it?

Thanks so much for the details, Rahul. Understood everything, but could not understand point no. 3. Rooting of phone ( I know how to root). ..... Wouldn't the Samsung guys want your phone to be NOT Rooted, because if you root it you lose warranty.
So what I want to know is that.... is Rooting required for that Samsung 3G Tool to work? Maybe I can try doing it myself on my laptop with that tool. Sileshnair has given the link to that tool, so I am installing it on my laptop now. Just tell me if root is required for this tool to work?
why we do rooting?
to get access to EFS folder
Efs folder contain your imei number, if the access is prohibited then imei cannot be changed.
even that SAMSUNG 3G TOOL root your phone before Reapir your Imei.
but that tool fail sometimes to root. so beter if you root it manually.

Thanks for the link, Silesh. I installed it on my laptop, but when I open the program it says "Card not found, waiting for connection". Same thing happens if I open this program after connecting my phone to the laptop via USB port.
Ah...I guess I'll have to take the phone to the Service centre only.

yes that software need a kit, that cost around 100 dollar, from that you can change imei of any samsung mobile

Thanks, I understood you. But the only thing I am not able to understand is how did the Service centre accept a rooted phone??? Was it because the Service Centre guy was your friend? Under normal circumstances, the service centre will accept your phone for repair when it is NOT Rooted.
I have the original Stock firmware installed, but I have not rooted it because the service centre guys will ask why did you root it!!
So I am going to take the phone to the service centre which is NOT ROOTED, if they want to Root then they will root it themselves. Right??

ACTUALLY.,
that samsung tool Link which u see above, that is software which my friend used to repair my imei !
i don't know, whether its by samsung or he buyed from somewhere else.
1st i installed samsung orignal firmware n connected to his pc..
then it show errror "rooting failed"
then i came home back and rooted it myself and then gone to him again and he clicked in repair imei and it was done.
so i tell u orignal steps , what i done.
can u afford 100$ to buy that kit?
if you buy the kit, then no need to go to samsung custumer care, u can do it in your home anytime n everytime
My phone developed the 'not connected to network' problem which I'm suspecting is down to the IMEI on the software (004999010640000) not matching that on the back of the handset. I've seen the solution in the FAQ but that seems to be for rooted phones. My device is completly stock. Is there an alternative method or do I have to root my phone to get it to function again?

If you dont have backup of system search for 123unlock download use test user make repair imei in advance option insert your sn and imei and start.pay 25 euros and repair imei.make backup of efs folder for future.2 things, sgs2 must be rooted and on android 2.3.6.
My network provider has agreed to repair the phone if I send them it after a second phone call.

I got stuck with a bad flash and the only way to get it to flash again was to format the nvram.
I don;t have a backup so even though i was able to put the imei back in, and part of the serial number and use the correct modem baseband i still get a serial with 0000000 followed by the serial i entered.
Can someone send me a backup of their nvram file so i can start working from there again?
I loved my phone untill it got bricked with a silly software update by lenovo that caused by cellphone reception which i then tried to fix with a custom rom flash.

Hi. If your NVRAM is corupted and you cannot write inside you could replace with this one. After replace you could try to modify the information from the new NVRAM.
Any way your information is messed up and you dont have anything to loose !

I tried your suggestion with the .img. run the batch file and it was a success but there still no IMEI registered on the phone it still saying invalid... please help...

You can use that NVRAM.img. The img file can be used on CN or ROW firmware with no problem involved.

Hello, i'have redmi note 9 (merlin).
I had brick my phone with MTK (all data deleted).
But actually i'have flash my phone with stock rom (android 11, miui 12.5.4) and i root this (magisk) and it work!
But my MEI code not are in my phone
no IMEI = no sms, no 4g, ...
How to write my old IMEI code on my phone ?

Changing or repairing an IMEI code is considered illegal in some countries/regions. But, if you still have a box as you said, you can search online on how to repair the deleted IMEI number. Losing an IMEI is rare and occurs if you've done something to the critical partitions.
Also, could you see any signal on your phone before rooting it with magisk? Or, was it gone right after the main flash?

My IMEI has deleted after repair my phone with SP Flash Tool.
It's good ! I have write my IMEI on my phone.
I use MTK META Utility (for run phone on "META MODE")
and i use Modem META for write IMEI
My problem is solved!

Hello i try one days ago crossflash my phone because its not be posible used in Czech republic (calling,data). But my phone stuck in EDL mode. Display its just blank black screen nothing more. If i connect phone to QFIL . Qfil see my phone, but if i try make recovery via xml raw program file (which i used from another version TM etc, dont find for Verizon) After click to download ..coming many news about Sahara "failed"... Do you have any solution ?

It is with a hex editor but I've never done it
And now after many times edl mode, phono no response with pc ?... No sound connected with pc, nothing in Device manager ? Do you think its gone ?
Now my phone its be unbricked, i reload my own imei via OCTOPLUS, and no now have problem with call ? Data conection work excelent and fast via LTE,but if i try make call then my phone try change network, just dialing after few moments hangs up. ... I have crossflash phone VM-->to TM--> EU (A12) region POL. I try update modem_a via qfil, but stil not work correct and finger print now working.

Yes this I try but IMEI don't write in system..just in Hidden app.

After I go again to hidden menu, then again see IMEI null, this why I take Octopus repair IMEI...

That will cost you credits. Usually this menu works for me in A10. You can recover your IMEI by downgrading to android 10. backing up Lun 5 partition and restoring after updating to your desired ROM. May be That works. But Octoplus is easy way xD

Wau this I don't, work just in A10 I have A11 and A12, A10 I don't try..good idea for next mistakes Yes it's cost credit but it's worth for using phone..
