After updating I ran a driver updater tool like IO bit's Driver Booster: it returned 9 drivers are outdated.
So people are highly suggested to scan the installed drivers for actuality.

I don't suggest any kind of this software. If you have curvedhands.dll than better leave drivers as outdated not then install like this kind of driver booster what ever.

You seem to like to suggest risky links and software. Can I ask why you do that?

I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 and reinstalled SDK so that I can connect my rooted phone via ADB. My problem is when I try to manually install the USB Driver. I get an error stating "Windows could not find driver software for your device." This occurs for both the i386 and amd64 driver. Has anyone ran into this? Appreciate any help.
Try to install HTC's sync software. You can uncheck most of the stuff it wants to install, making sure that you keep & install the usb drivers. That has worked for many out here.
I kno its kinda late but if u want just the driver files u can go to developer.htc.com and find them there...just sayin

Is this for using the AiO root tool?
If so, the mtp driver is in the .7z package for download. You have to go into devices in Windows and manually apply that driver to the Sony Tablet S device. Ignore the warning that is is not signed.
i followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327139
its very important that the do the .android/adb_usb.ini step AFTER installing/upgrading TOGETHER with Android SDK's extras\google\usb_driver\android_winusb.inf
For the Sony Tablet S driver u can point the driver to have disk to Android SDK's extras\google\usb_driver\android_winusb.inf and it will work too...
Hi,
I found this AIO Auto Installer
Also you must Read the Info file incase you run into problems....
Good luck
Trying to attempt to root my phone. my linux machine is toast so I'm working with a roomates win7 laptop. ADB is running and we were able to root his RAZR without issue. Right now though it seems like I'm stuck on my phone because we can't seem to get the drivers to install properly. Tried using the download from Firebalas post to no avail. It looks like the driver labeled Android Phone fails to install. I feel like I'm missing something super simple. If anyone has an idea or an updated install package it would be much appreciated.

your 4.0 driver did the trick. ADB is working!
I know there is already a few threads with the newer HTC Driver 4.0.1.001_20121107
Im using Windows 8.1 RP and wansnt able to get my PC to load the driver by just executing the installer even if the drivers were already installed.
So I just extracted all the HTC drivers and made a zip for manual instal from Device manager.
Works for both 32 and 64bits

Hello, i have problem with MTP Driver after Windows 10 Anniversary Update. I cant install a driver for MTP Device. When I'm trying to install some files the Device Manager says
The driver installation file missing a required entry. The reason may be that the INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor.
