Question Android keeps turning on "Do not disturb" while driving - Google Pixel 6

Hi everyone!
Since the last Android update on my Pixel 6, "Do not disturb" keeps turning on every time I get into my car. I have repeatedly disabled it, only for it to come back on by itself. I've checked my Sync settings and I can't find anything that would be turning this on. I have deleted the Driving Mode in Schedules repeatedly and I have also tried leaving it in Schedules, but disabled.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks!

Have driving mode turn on automatically on your Pixel phone - Pixel Phone Help
On Pixel 3 and later, you can set Do Not Disturb or Android Auto to turn on when you're driving. On your Pixel 2, you can set Do Not Disturb to turn on when you're driving. For the best phone exper

When driving mode turns on or off
Your phone starts driving mode within a minute of when:
It connects to a car
It thinks it's in a moving car

Press settings. Scroll down and press navigation settings. Tap Google Assistant settings. Turn off driving mode by tapping the when navigating in Google Maps button.

This tells me how to turn it on.... how do I stop it from turning on? I keep deleting the rule, but it automatically adds it again without asking me.

Any suggestions? I'm on Villainrom atm
Probably you have Latitude turned on or you have Maps in the background trying to find its location all the time.
First turn off Settings => Location and Security => Use Wireless Networks
Then try to turn off Latitude. Since it's one of the first apps that I freeze after flashing a new ROM, I don't know how it's done.
Wireless Networks was actually turned on. Turned it off. I will monitor it to see if its being kept awake now, thanks. Is it supposed to keep the phone awake that much though?
Latitude was turned off though, i think. At least it says "Join Latitude" in google maps, so I suppose its disabled.
@OP- You tried Turning Off Sync, but you haven't tried turning off GPS. It is on all time.
Regards.
Nah GPS was off all of the time
Ask about it on the Better Battery Stats thread.

According to your screenshot, it's the network location finding service that's keeping your phone alive, so turning wireless network location service should help. However, if it's not Latitude or Maps, you have another program which is constantly trying to find the phone's location. It could be a widget or any other app. Take a close look at what's running in the background and try to find out.

[Root] [KitKat] How to Disable Knock On

I love knock on, and it works great for me. But some people apparently have a problem with the phone turning on in their pocket. The Sprint ZV6 update supposedly has some changes included to address this problem, but how effective it will be is anyone's guess. I was recently involved in a discussion elsewhere as to whether it would be possible to use Tasker to prevent knock-on from working in your pocket, but I don't think it is.
I did discover another approach, though, that will work. Verified on the LS990 with BarRin v2, but it should work on any rooted G3 with a stock-based kernel. ( IF you have an AT&T or T-Mobile version, you can probably find this setting in HiddenMenu without using the Shortcut Master app, by entering the dialer codes as in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/mod-root-rid-lag-g3-t2819365)
Note that this will turn off both knock on and knock OFF. If you still want to use knock off, you'll need to use one of the many screen off apps in the play store, in combination with an alternate launcher like Nova or Apex.
1. Download and install Shortcut Master: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.shortcutmaster.lite
2. Open the app and select Search from the menu. Enter hiddenmenu in the search field, and press search.

3. Scroll down and find the row for com.lge.hiddenmenu.settings.LgSrvKnockonSetting
4. Tap that row, and then tap on "Launch"
5. Change the toggle from On to Off, then back out of Shortcut Master.
You can repeat the steps to turn it back on.
Been using this since day one. Worse idea I've ever heard of, having this enabled. I'm sure other will appreciate this too.
Thanks.
also for verizon, search knock and you should find it for verizon users
Same, I disabled this right away back in Sept using the exact method posted. But awesome tutorial, pics and all. Good work!

Marginally, yes but barely noticeable. Unless it was constantly going off in your pocket, thats a big battery waster, lol.

Simpler access to Do Not Disturb?

I recently upgraded from a G3 to a G5. I've done pretty well at adjusting it to my needs, or adjusting to its ways of doing things. But the Do Not DIsturb being buried solely in the Settings menu is really driving me nuts. On the G3, when you hit any volume button, and it opens the volume panel, the Do Not Disturb was accessible there. You could turn it on, set it to Silent or Priority and set a time duration, all from that panel. Now I can turn Do Not Disturb on from the main drop-down on the phone, but I have to open up the settings, from the Settings menu, in order to put in what type of Do Not Disturb I want, and for how long. I have a lot of doctors appointments and I'm starting classes in a few weeks. I would really prefer to have a faster and easier way to access DnD, similar to what was on the G3.
Does anyone know if there's a setting, shortcut, widget, or anything along those lines, that can simplify turn on DnD, with access to its settings at the time you activate it? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Maybe this is not what you're looking for, but a "do not disturb" button can be added to the notification screen. Short press to turn it on/off, long press will take you into settings.
This screenshot is from my G6, but my wife's G5 works the same way. "Do no disturb" is second from right.

It doesn't fully give me what I'd like - which is the ability to turn on DnD and set the parameters of it all at once, on the home screen, as I could with the G3. But it does save me several steps in the process, in several processes actually, knowing that if I hold down on those items in the notification screen it will open straight to their settings. I did not know that. And it's going to simplify a lot of things for me. Just knowing I can easily open Wifi networks, Bluetooth devices, and the like, from that screen, is extremely helpful. Thanks!

Umidigi One Pro wont go back to "sleep"

Hey Guys,
I have just gotten a fresh Umidigi One Pro like 8 hours ago. Yay, at last, a brand new Phone.. Looks awesome and all BUT
Whenever it gets a Message via Email, Message or anything else that shortly lits up the screen, it will NOT go back to sleep, unless I open the Phone and turn it off again.
I had checked the settings and put Android inactivity thing to 30 Seconds where no inputs where made.
I have just now deactivated the messages on lockscreen completely and I am waiting for a information that I have received a new message (sent one for testing purpose).. and the screen STILL lit up again, even though not showing a message!
Any Ideas why Android isn't goint to sleep automatically? Because when it does not turn off, itgets more and more hot. I just had it only realized that i got DAAAAAMN hot, cuz it slid under the pillow.
I am completely puzzled about this, as my old MIUI usually turned off just after a few seconds (like 5-10 Secs latest) ...
It just now happened to happen AGAIN, my Email must have arrived, it does NOT show on the lockscreen, all in all i see like nothing beside Network+Wifi Signal, Battery, Time and Mic, Avatar and Camera Icon in the bottom.
It kind of pisses me off, as this would mess up Batterytime badly. I would love to keep the Phone, as it really looks awesome to me. Thats kind of a flaw, or maybe even damaged Phone?
I would love to hear from you that I just miss a feature and how to fix it.....
Thanks!
Mhm, the only way I found that would stop to lit up the Screen and not turning off again, is to turn off the processes in the background completely using DuraSpeed ... damn ... useless.

I must confirm this issue. After notification phone display is constantly on. Really annoying.
This is a problem... Potentially deal breaker. What's crazy is if you search for ambient display in settings it shows to be under the battery menu however, it's not there when I look for it.
I found an adb command that supposed to turn off wake screen on notification but I can't try it out right now for lack of computer.
If anyone wants you try, it's
adb shell settings put secure doze_enabled
Please let us know if it works.

Question Driving App starting whenever I enable Bluetooth

Hi Guys,
I had no problem until recently, I have this issue that whenever I enable Bluetooth on my Pixel 6 the Driving app kicks in automatically. I don't have any bt devices connected nor I recall touching any settings to have that enabled.
Does anyone know how to disable this?

That is a good advice
You know what? I had no such item in the menu before I searched for it, but after disabling all automation it still launches Driving app
Hmmm. Weird, mine stopped doing that. Maybe, it's Bluetooth triggerd or, alternatively, by something running in the background, for example, Waze?

Found the culprit - it was an internet radio app which was forcing that behavior. That's a bit crazy because I had not granted any permissions to that app, yet it triggered another mode
Go to setting>search "android system" on the search bar > select "android system" saying " app info " at the bottom" > select "notification" under android system > make it unchecked the " car mode"> now it is done.

Just replying here since I have the same problem and wanted to say DO NOT DO THIS!
I made this mistake a day or two ago. The problem is driving mode is still enabled even if the notification is gone, which disables tap to wake and the screen timeout stuff. The only way to fix it is to hit the notification to close whatever app it is or find the app (which I've been this far unsuccessful in doing.)
Found the app that keeps turning on CarMode.
Here is how, you need install adb and turn on develop mode.
Turn off bluetooth and driving mode
adb logcat|grep -i handleCarModeChange
When driving mode appears, click notification to disable it.
You will see
Telecom : InCallController: handleCarModeChange: packageName=com.radiolight.japon, priority=0, isCarMode=true: [email protected]
Telecom : InCallController: handleCarModeChange: not a valid InCallService; packageName=com.radiolight.japon: [email protected]

For me, uninstall com.radiolight.japon (Radioworld FM) fixed everything.
