Clean uninstall kies and re-install.
Download this and report back when it's all done.

We got a lot of threads about that. Check em out, try it all and that's that.
Try: other USB cable, all other USB ports (optimally straight to motherboard ones), other PC/laptop ... JIG maybe? Does charging work with no problem? USB port might be damaged...

I bought a new one and burned the other one to a crisp.

I guess it may be faulty driver but then it should charge and if the usb port was faulty other devices should have stopped working

Did you run tSilenzio's autoLGNPST? If so, did you run install.bat as administrator? <--That seem to be the most common issue.
Check Device Manager for any devices with a warning sign or Unknown devices.
Yeah you can't use USB 3.0 with this phone. Will not work. Had to use another computer with USB 2.0 only ports to us lgnpst

Windows 8 Pro (Not 8.1). Are you sure that you ran install.bat as administrator?
EDIT: Never mind, that was the USB2 port. The USB3 port doesn't work...

did you try this guide?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/guide-tutorial-samsung-galaxy-s2-i9100-t3538601
it doesn't require any PC...
just curious, if your USB is broken, how do you charge your phone??????!!! wirelessly??????
haha wirelessly , i don't mean this, i mean it does not recognised the usb. I'm getting error each time, may be the usb port is loose. I will try it for sure MigoMujahid, thanks for the help and i will let you know if it works

well, you could try another USB port in PC or another Cable, it's may not be your USB, could be another thing of what i mentioned above, or it could be the drivers are not installed correctly.
@MigoMujahid, i think i bricked the phone now and without odin, i am unable to flash with usb not being recognised.

did you try another port or cable?
or even another PC?
it would sound insane, but a user here had your problem, but he fixed by using Odin3 in a Linux operating system!

@MigoMujahid, yes , i had tried in other usb ports, even in other pc, laptops etc, it does not work. I think i will either change the usb port of the S2 or buy a new phone ...
