All,
For a newbie, this i think should be a stand alone topic as it will be critical to get right.
the Snapdragon 888 has the SM8350 chipset. I think there are two options.
1. extract firehose from firmware.
2. download the correct one.
In both paths above i cannot seem to find info. I can find emmu files for other chipsets but not ones that state SM8350.
Also, does the Lenovo have something similar to the Oppo where you must have a signed & hashed emmu file which means you can only extract from your firmware?
So how can i go about finding or extracting the correct firehose for the Lenovo?
All i can find is the following in the 12.5.137.
Is the ddr file the correct one?
To close this thread off, another board member on a different forum confirms the correct firehose file as the ddr. Its actually not a big file, comes in at 934kb.

Dear WP7 Chefs,
while Jaxbot and I investigated the possibilities of the Qualcomm Mode of the Lumia 800, we stumbled upon a Problem that seems to need some capable chefs to solve.
We sucessfully managed to get a full Memory dump of the Lumia 800. This Memory dump was split using nb7Split. After splitting, we were confronted with various .bin files:
BSP
DPP
IMGFS
NK
PADUSER
SLDR1
SLDR2
User
USP
Our main goal is to edit the registry and copy everything back to the Lumia. By using OSBuilder it was possible to dump the default.hv file and edit it. Our main Problem is now to recombine everything into one "memory dump" that can be copied back to the device. Basiaclly we need to rebuild a BIN file from the edited System files and Combine them with every other bin file into a 15.627.976.704 Byte file. Are there any Tools out there to accomplish this task?
Any help is really appreciated
Regards
Chris
You should wait for new version of OSBuilder - it can do it.
However, correct work with those dumps isn't guaranteed. OSB does only wmstore rebuilding.
Thanks for your answer. I guess there is no timline for the next Version of OSBuilder? What exactly do you mean by wmstore? Is it a Special Format or partition?
I would say that timeline is "next week". Most likely.
Thanks. I guess I'll have to wait for next week then
Hi guys im a noob to the forums and to rom customisation in general so im hoping someone can help me.
I have a generic MX dual core, and have been supplied a flash firmware and image from the supplier. This image is basic and does not contain all of the repos that i want, nor the apps that I require.
The image supplied is a zipfile and contains:
factory_update_param.aml
hd18d_mx4.zip
recovery.img
I am able to successfully restore my box with this image (so I know that the image is working fine).
Within the hd18d_mx4.zip there is:
Directotories: data, META-INF, recovery, system
files: boot.img, bootloaded.img, logo.img
I can see the all the system APK files within the system/app folder. The problem is when i try to add another APK file into this directory within the archive (in this case videomix.apk), I am not able to restore the image to the MX device.
Can anyone help me with a noobies guide to do this. I have read that the apk file has to be signed, and the zip file has to be signed also?? But im not quite sure what this means, nor how I go about doing it.
Any help or tutorials will be much appreciate. I have downloaded the APK-multi-tool but dont have a clue what I need to do
Look forward to your replies.
P.S. Im using a windows 64 bit machine and not Linux (if that makes any difference).
I'm facing the same thing, did you end up having luck with this?
If not is there anyone that can assist?
Looking for stock firmware or pre-6.0.1/5.1.1, respectively, update for these phones.
ZTE grand x3 (z959)
Galaxy Amp2 sm-j120az.
I have found the amp2 but not in the proper .md5 format, it was suggested I renamed the file, and it did appear in odin but produced an invalid .md5 binary error. I have these files in a .rar format. If there is a way to convert those to .md5 that may be best.
These files may be provided somewhere in the vastness of XDA or furthermore the internet but my rudimentary searches have been fruitless for weeks. This is my first ventures into playing with such fire and i gotta say its quite exciting, however the Security notice on the amp2 after I flashed eng_boot is a little worrisome but it is a cheap phone if I break it NBD friends.
Thanks
If a mod is willing to move me to the appropriate subcategory that would be great It was difficult to decide were to put this, the sleep deprivation is real.
Most Vendor image files for S9 plus, are impossible to find. I've been searching some of them for more than half a year. How I wish they where uploaded somewere visibly. The whole vendor image addition turns out to be an other nightmare deviced by Google to make our lives harder, not safer.
Devs please help us!
Devs, you are our only possible saviors when facing this incredibly annoying matter.
You can easily extract the vendor img from stock firmware downloaded on sites like sammobile or samfirm. Just open the AP_ file with something like 7zip or winrar and the vendor image is right there you don't need any developer to do it for you
