Now that I flashed 30C and my phone didn't melt. should i update TWRP 3.2.3.7?

I have a unlocked and rooted LG G5 (H850 EU variant) with TWRP installed. As I already read in other threads, I can not install with OTA anymore.
I want NFC and glance screen to work so I suppose I need to stick with the stock ROM. Also since I use Xposed, I don't want to update to Nougat for now. Is there any flashable ZIP that I can flash from TWRP with latest Marshmallow ROM? Is this the preferred way or should I rather use LGUp? What do I need to choose not to do a factory reset?
I highly recommend you to update to Nougat, as it is very stable and fluid (from my experience).
Here's the flashable zip for Android Marshmallow: (P.S. not sure if this is the latest version)

USE THEM ON YOUR OWN RISK.
You shouldn't worry about about not using LG UP,
As the zip files contains everything necessary for the update process including: modem, bootloader, etc. (Except the recovery partition, to keep TWRP in tact)
I've updated yesterday to nougat though TWRP, and all was perfect, I didn't do even a factory reset, and preserved root and data partition unencrypted (flashing an extra .zip), so I too advise you to make the upgrade.
pd.: Not OTA nor LGUP worked for me
I am really happy with Carbon 5.1, but thought Oreo might have achieved similar stability
Problem is that after flashing .570 and .291 there is a bootloop into recovery when attempting to flash any Oreo boot.img
The crazy part - the device was bought used with D6502 in the settings, and after flashing .291 using flashtool? Baseband patch fixed connectivity issues - Then I pull out the MicroSD strip and lo and behold its actually D6503. Then any RR/Carbon/lineage Oreo boot.img throws the recovery into a bootloop
Immediately flash the 5.1 Carbon boot.img and things return to normal. A bit confusing here.
Apologize if this is dumb - but can I just install Oreo ROMs without the initial boot.img flash, or even on top of one extracted from Andro/Advanced Kernel?
Okay just pushed through it
I didn't flash the RR boot.img coming from carbon 5.1 N. Just RR 6.0 or 8.1 with gapps regular style and not a single hiccup. I forgot to download magisk and came back and the Recovery loop began
I decided well WTF let's try to flash magisk in between loops it does modify the boot.img. The loop stopped and I took my time flashing xposed 8.1 and the baseband patch.
RR 8.1 or 6.0 works beautifully without a hitch but entering recovery begins the loop. I am going to try flashing older TWRP versions or the modded 3.1.1 by the generous developer
Problem solved - Just installed TWRP recovery 3.1.1, many thanks to aboodyaiman - https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/recovery-twrp-3-1-1-0-touch-recovery-t3640856. And as I suspected it was a boot.img / recovery issue. Now running on my desk for 30 minutes without a hitch in recovery and no problems with LOS / RR Oreo
Great work everyone ITT, congratulations all round
Hello guys! To those that have installed Oreo how is the battery after using it for a longer time? I installed the Open EU kdz file via LGUP but my CPU was at 70-85°C almost all the time and my battery SOT was about an hour. Should I give it another try? I went back to Nougat after trying it. I only used Oreo for about 12 hours when I reflashed Nougat. So what do you think?
Onlock bootloader, flash twrp, root, flash Nugat zip file .
Hi all,
I've successfully rooted my H932. Magisk 18, rctd, no_verity, and LOS 16 are installed with latest TWRP. 3.2.3-7 installed on laf and recovery.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, the fingerprint reader is not working, and SGCMarkus suggested the reason was I wasn't on OREO firmware.
I'm pretty sure i'm still on 10d from KDZ when i rooted.
How do I update the firmware?...do I use LGUP with H93220p_00_1121.kdz and not install on LAF or RECOVERY and then flash Magiskj, rctd, and no-verity? Then put LOS 16 back over that with TWRP?
Can I use TWRP the whole way? I think LGUP stopped working after I flashed TWRP to LAF and RECOVERY...
Thx, Andrew

There's a thread with 20o and 20p zips that can be flashed in twrp to bring you up to stock Oreo. Once you've gone to either of those, then clean installed lineageos 16, your fingerprint reader should work. No guarantees, but it should.
did it work?
When I flashed to pixel rom, I flashed Brian's 20k zip, then pie and every thing worked perfect. Then flashed back to 20k then 20p I guess i would advise always flashing stock first. And if you had success with a procedure then make sure to follow the same prelimary steps when flashing another zip

What you mean stock recovery? PE automatically replace TWRP with PE Recovery.
For OTA you need to be on PE Recovery and Encrypted. If you are decrypted you should manually update the ROM via TWRP along with DFE (always).
