Hi, I was using until recently the volte/vowifi module to activate especially wifi calls in my country, but yesterday's update broke this module, the wifi icon no longer displays on calls Anybody have a working solution?

I devised a solution to restore native visual voicemail to the HTC One M8 running a custom ROM mod. It works great, but was recently discovered that voicemails will not download if your phone is on a Wifi Connection.
Here's my thread where I posted the Visual Voicemail Fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2738057
We need a fix for the Wifi Problem
So it turns out that your Voicemails won't download when you're connected to a Wifi Network. The app seems to default it's connectivity to Wifi when both a Wifi and Mobile Data Connection are available. As soon as you move away from your wifi connection or disconnect, your voicemails will immediately download. We need a hard-core developer to debug this. It's a function of what connection Visual Voicemail should default to when checking for voicemails, and that connection should probably be cellular data.
You "devised a solution"...smh...really should rephrase that...lol..and another problem youll have is opening messages from the extreme power saving mode...Good Luck in your quest sir...:0)
Anyone else face this issue? if you tether the phone internet to your laptop, it works as expected but once you make/receive a call, the internet on the laptop will stop working. I also note that the phone signal will drop from 4G to 3G/H+ on the phone once you make/receive a call.
I have tried to reach out to Huawei for support but not getting any resolution from them.
Issue can be reproduce as below:
1. Tether your phone to your laptop and check that internet is available on your laptop.
2. Have someone call your phone or make an outgoing call, you will notice your mobile signal drop from 4G to 3G/H+. Keep the call ongoing and dont hang up.
3. Check your laptop to confirm that internet has stop working.
Not surprising at all, it's by design and not linked to the fact you're tethering the smartphone's data connection.
Without tethering, use a hands free kit or earphones, make a call or simply call your voicemail and now on the smartphone try browsing or any connected app, they'll fail: data connection is lost during voice call.
In order to keep your (4G) data connection, your mobile provider has to support VoLTE and you must activate related option on your phone. I did it, it's working, didn't try calling while tethering but I'm quite sure it's the same case =)
Still no internet with either VoLTE on and off. And I dont think this is to be expected as my previous phone, Xiaomi Mi Max has no issue and can do both call and tethering at the same time. And my colleague just did a test with his new Samsung Note9 and also didnt face this issue. Not sure if this is a software bug or a hardware design flaw/limitation
I use tethering/hotspot every few days and didn't notice any problem. Signal drops from 4G to 3G because Mate 10 doesn't support VoLTE but internet works fine for me.

Please test tethering while on call, not just tethering alone. Tethering alone works fine for me as well.
Internet will pause during phone call unless your network is VoLTE. My phone network signal will change from 4G to H+ during phone call.

As I said, it works fine while on call. I use tethering in my second apartment, airports and in almost every caffe bar and didn't notice any network problems on my notebook if someone calls me. There is one lost packet when phone starts ringing and that's it.
The first photo is WiFi hotspot + phone call and the second photo is USB tethering + phone call.
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the input on VoLTE, base on this info, i query my telco (Starhub) regarding this, and just a few mins ago i received an SMS that "HD Voice Plus" had been activated for my number. HD voice plus is just what they call VoLTE. Now i have a VoLTE icon on the top left of my phone. I tried the same case again and sure enough it is working now. Cheers.

There's a thread below that covers the same subject and has a discussion going. Might be info there
Yeah. But no solution at all :/ The strange thing is, it was working on my mi9t.
Tried it all. Nothing works
Any solutions yet?
Install an Android 11 rom and the problem is solved.
In my case Android 11 did not solve the problem. The only way to fix this was following this method - https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/guide-activate-vowifi-wlan-call-t3871263

Yes. Its for both. VoLTE caller is shown and VoWIFI works also.

May be i will try it ....i really don't want to root...but i have to try it....and maybe unroot straight after.....
I have tried all the VoLTE modules and each time I try making a conference call it says UNABLE TO MERGE CALLS. I don't mind doing a manual setting for VoLTE to work instead of modules because as soon as I disable the module and reboot my phone, the conference call works normally but then volte stops working.
Any possibility
Could you describe what you are seeing and what process you've used so far? I'm unclear on "VoLTE modules" in this context. I found that my phone was just set for VoLTE by default and things seem to work ok. HAve you installed something special relating to VoLTE?
Yes I mean I am using VoLTE outside the supported countries through root and magisks volte modules. I used all of the different modules and the problem with conference call is on all modules.
what specific modules are you using?
I followed the link below. The module seems to be from member in xda @foobar66
How to Enable VoWiFi and VoLTE in Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro - iDroidBear
It's always been a cat-and-mouse game when it comes to enabling VoLTE and VoWiFi, and the carrier and manufacturer blame each other. In this guide, we are going to show you the steps to enable VoLTE on your Google Pixel 6 / Business device.

Thanks, so yeah the conference calls doesn't work if I am using any similar module to enable VoLTE
If VoLTE is not supported in your cell area.
The modules are not going to work either.
VoLTE is working fine and calls too are quick as HD, except the conference calls I cannot merge. Shows unable to merge calls if I am trying to add one more call over an ongoing call.
This is what I'm using and no issues for the past few months.

It's same thing. I made a call, then I added another call but when trying to merge. It shows up an error of UNABLE TO MERGE CALLS
Can anyone help. I am facing issues at work with conference calls.
EDIT: It looks like it is a 13.0.4+ issue
Calls also doesn't work with A13 ROMs.
Is there anything I should disable to make the calls working?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello everyone,
I sent my Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite to Xiaomi assistance because it randomly restarted (due to a power on button bug). They told me they just updated the firmware, from 13.0.2 to 13.0.4 I think, and calls stopped working.
After few tests and different ROMs installed, I found out that calls are not working because the data signal is too weak in some areas.
So the problem is: before I sent the smartphone to Xiaomi assistance I could make and receive calls in the same areas where the smartphone is not working now.
There's something I can test?
Any help on this?
