OK; THAT link is broken !
Thanks for responding.
UNFORTUNATELY your url is corrupted.
I get nothing but 404's.
I WOULD like to see what you're talking about though. Especially if the source is GitHub.
I've been trolling the internet for NON-MALWARE-infected updates to that official app for several days now.
It seems to be a very Popular totem to attach diseases to.

My problem ISN'T with code that's obfuscated; rather, it's that I'm at a remote location, away from real computers. I'm forced to use Android smartphones for the time being. And, with VERY LIMITED EVERYTHING (!), finding a mobile-friendly tool to convert my classes.dex files to*.jar, so the source code can actually get edited and signed.
For this, the best I've been able to find was a recent "APKEDITOR ULTRA" v.2.0.1
I WILL NOT PARSE the patch I tried to replace the stock file with.
I used both the "Disassembler" app and a Java IDE, Seperatly--which clearly doesn't work.

Post What Where:
General - general technical discussion items, news, anything else that does not fit into the other fora categories.
Q&A (Questions and Answers) - all questions, irrespective of type, get posted in here whether they be theme related, accessory related, technical, etc.
Accessories - any items to do with components and/or accessories relating to your device.
Rom Development - only meant for very advanced technical discussion directly related to ROM development activity and the delivery of actual ROMs and ROM components ONLY. Nothing else goes in here.
Themes & Apps - anything to do directly with the development of themes and/or applications. Nothing else goes in here.
MOD EDIT: BEFORE POSTING ANY THREAD IN THE DEVELOPMENT SECTION, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:
If you have developed a ROM, or are working with others to do so, the development forum is somewhere to discuss and share ideas, post useful feedback and logs or crash dumps, and to discuss a common goal developers are trying to achieve.
It is NOT the place to post your question because it gets higher traffic, or because more experienced users frequent it. Doing this just annoys those who are working on the device, and drives them away. Developers don't want to wade through 20 threads of "Help me urgently" to find their threads for porting and fixing camera issues etc. Similarly, if a thread is designated as discussion for developers say, porting a camera fix, please do not post in there asking "When will it be ready?", "Can I flash this yet?" etc. This is both completely disrespectful to those working on the project (you evidently haven't read the important posts in the thread), and also is making it harder for developers to find comments from other developers or testers when required.
Similarly, don't make loads of "Thanks for your work here" posts in an active development thread. It's just as annoying to developers as asking when something will be ready. If a ROM is complete, then go ahead and thank the developer if you wish, but don't go into threads for devs only, and interrupt it to post "thanks". It's basically spamming, and is treated as such.
If you are posting in development, you should have read every sticky and notice there, and should be actively developing or helping in the development of something. Developing isn't installing a ROM, or using a tweak, it's creating a ROM or other hack or tweak. If you haven't read for several days before starting out on XDA, you are likely about to ask something already solved. I registered on XDA when I first wanted to post, and that was to join in a discussion on something. Sure, join up and ask a question, but read the information available in General and Q&A first, as your question will have been asked before. Search is your friend here, become familiar with it.
Regarding when to post in development if you are not actually developing something, there is one occasion where it's acceptable. If you find a leak of a new ROM, which isn't already posted, and you verify it's legitimacy via either running it, or based on the source you obtained it from, then this is assisting in development, and should be posted in development. If you want to ask when a leak will be available use search first, then if not already in discussion, open a thread in general or Q&A.
If you have a problem flashing a ROM, this is NOT related to development. It's up to you to determine if it is specific to a particular ROM, and post useful information in that developer's existing thread for the ROM. If it happens on more than one ROM, and isn't a known issue (remember you should read several times more words than you post), then find out what you are doing wrong. Check guides written by others, try to repeat the problem and see if it happens every time. Something needs to be reproducible to be fixed effectively.
Once you have identified what you need help with go to the device Q&A forum (general if device lacks one), and make a clear, informative thread that explains the issue, and what you have tried doing to fix it. Did you re-download the ROM? Did you ask a friend to flash it for you, to reduce chance of user error? What steps (exactly) did you follow? What errors did you see (exact wording)? Did you double check all the steps? Did you do a wipe or hard reset?
If you make a clear, concise, yet detailed post, you will find help forthcoming, and should get the problem sorted very quickly. If someone suggests you try something, report back on what happened, did it work etc. Then, next time someone has this issue and searches, they will find this and have a verified and tested solution.
So remember... before you start a thread in development, ask yourself what you are developing. If you can't answer, then stop, step away from the post button, and think about where you are posting. Would it be better in General or Q&A, or is some more time with your best friend, search, required?

Q Why a special Q&T Thread for this ROM??
A The bigger a ROM development thread gets, the greater the chance that posts are being placed in this thread that are not related to the ROM development itself, e.g. problems with flashing, installation, bugs, things not working etc. However this is understandable, it's not according to the guidelines of XDA for Development sections. Therefore the main goals of the ROM specific Q&T threads is to avoid this cluttering of the original develpment thread with these OT posts by redirecting the posters to the ROM specific Q&T thread and also to relieve the developer from answering these post, so he can dedicate his time to developing.
Q How to move my post to the Q&A/T thread?
A Copy the text of your post in the dev's thread, got to the Q&A/T thread and paste it there. After having done that, go back to the dev's thread, edit your post and change the text into: moved to Q&A/T thread, preferably accompanied with a link to this thread.
Q When I'm asked to move my post to the Q#A/T thread, do I have to do that?
A When you're asked to move your post, there will always be given an explanation by the OP of the Q&A/T, e.g. your post is not development related (f.i. SD card problems, etc), so please be so kind to move your post. If you want to help the dev to keep his original thread as clean as possible from OT posts, then the answer is, of course, YES. Although we cannot force you to move your post, it's highly recommended to do so
Q Where can I download this ROM and How do I install?
A You can find the link to download and installation instructions HERE. Pay close attention to this post, everything required for a successful flash is listed right here. If you fail to follow the instructions or meet the requirements for installation, you could run into some problems.
Q What are the known issues with these ROM's?
A As of 10/26/13, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi calling, Wi-Fi Tether, Wi-Fi Hotspot, and the Stock HTC FM Radio are broken. See THE Developer's thread for more information.:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482651
Q How’s battery life?
A I see this question asked repeatedly across all ROMS. Honestly there is no way to give you an answer based on a ROM. There are too many variables in question and results vary from user to user and device to device. Battery life is going to depend on age and condition of your battery, your use habits with your device, installed apps, tweaks, settings, etc...
Q How do I...
A Ask your questions and report your issues in this thread. You will receive a response and hopefully get you back up and running this ROM to it's fullest
Q "Is Bluetooth, Wi-Fi tether, and Wi-Fi calling fixed yet?"
No! I will say when something gets fixed so quit spamming all the Sense 4 ROM threads in the Amaze forums asking if something is fixed!
"I am in Pakistan or India or somewhere in Asia or Europe and I want to download and flash this but I don't know how!?"
"I have a HTC Amaze but it's an Asian unbranded version and I'm in a BOOT loop."
Please read this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167596
Q "I have a T-mobile branded Amaze and I'm stuck in a boot loop!"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575550
Q "Why is stuff broken?!?!"
Because HTC sucks for not giving us the source we need! If you want something done, do it yourself. I do not work for you, I am unpaid and do this in my free time as a hobby.
Q "Why is this named Sultan?!?! My home country got conquered by a Sultan. I am mad"
Please stop being offended, grow up, if a mere NAME offends you I think you should seek mental help. The Ottoman Empire is long gone, you're lucky they tolerated and respected their citizens. At least it's not called the Justin Bieber ROM!!! XDA is not the place for you to complain about silly stuff. Your opinions don't matter here. It's a ****ing custom ROM, there is absolutely no need to complain about free stuff. You're lucky XDA is not private for developers only. Please respect developers, thanks!
kuzibri said:
Hi my dear followers of this ROM,
in this post I will explain the goal of this specific thread created for this ROM with the permission of the Developer of this ROM:
This is a statement made in the Q&A/T template thread:
"While our forum has slowly been morphing, the one area we would like to keep original is Development
The goal is to alleviate the OT banter that occurs within any rom. While the XDA forum continues to grow, we need to help users work within the guidelines created by XDA. Over the last couple of years the average rom being created, has become a free for all chat thread. There tends to be much infighting and mod/developer cleaning.
The idea of this template is to create a Questions and Answers for each rom. This is in no way asking for Development to be moved here, rather any and all conversation that is non Development related to your conjoined Q&A."
This means that non-development related posts, should be posted - with the permission of the Dev - in this thread. What are the most common Off Topic posts, that should be posted in this Q&A/T thread?
1. Battery life related posts
2. Will this app work with this ROM
3. SD Card related problems
4. How do I dowmload and install this ROM, etc
Hope to have given you enough information,
kindest regards, Kuzibri

Sorry wrong section
No nonsense near-pure aosp build with lowlevel optimizations.
Note: the rom only has en_GB localizations built-in.
Download ROM: https://app.box.com/s/fl0080htdp40l37lwles
It doesn't contain a kernel or gapps, so you need to download & flash these yourself.
[email protected] will work with: aosp-based kernels (not tested with CM, AOKP, PA & other colourfully-named derivatives)
The ROM is my daily driver but do test ahead, enjoy & let me know how it fares for you.
Which optimisations? Source?
Yes, more informations, as rules say, please ... look at pinned post from moderator
... N5 rulez ...
looks like this rom belongs in android development, not in the original development section.

The following are reasonable formats that are suggested when posting a new ROM. We expect your ROM post to look somewhat professional and easy to understand.
1. Requirements (bootloader version, radio version etc)
2. State that it's from an official manufacturer or source base (stock ROM or AOSP-like source).
3. Thread shows a clear overview of changes made, in a way that users can see what has changed.
4. Explicit installation instructions.
5. ROMs need to identify what kernel they are using. If 100% stock then they must state that.
6. If custom kernel they must provide a link to the kernel on XDA (if available) or a link to the kernel source. This is required by GPL. Stock (untouched) kernels can link to the manufacturers source (if available).
7. At least 2-4 images (screen-shots) 1 of which must be of system/device info. Do not use photo hosts thay deluge users with ads and popups when they select the image. You can either attach the images, or use a hosting service such as photo-bucket for example.
8. Links to downloads. A link to a direct download is preferred. Linking to external websites home pages are not allowed, it must be linked to the Downloads page. Also use of "ad-driven" (adfly for example) or "commercial" sites are mostly not allowed. Registration on some sites "may" be allowed, but is subject to XDA Moderation approval.
9. Credits for sources used. Very important.
10. Keep your "asking for donations to a limit. You already have a "Donate" button.
Simply posting a link to some download site "here it is, download it", is not allowed.

How to Flash PE/PE+ | HAYDN/IN A11/12
•Be on any version of MIUI except MIUI 13. Any other MIUI versions will work.
•Download ROM and boot.img from the website - https://download.pixelexperience.org/haydn
•Flash the boot.img via fastboot mode. The command is - fastboot flash boot boot.img
•Type fastboot reboot, as soon as you type this press and hold the power and volume up (+) key and release when you see the Mi logo.
•Now, your device will boot in PE recovery.
•Perform a factory reset, then go to advanced and select the reboot to recovery option.
•Now, you need to flash firmware 12.0.5 - https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/haydn/stable/V12.0.5.0.RKKCNXM/ via ADB sideload. To enable ADB sideload use the update via ADB option in PE recovery. Command - adb sideload (filename.zip) NOTE: Keep firmware (12.0.5), ROM in the platform-tools folder- https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-windows.zip
• Also make sure you have ADB drivers- https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...vers-15-seconds-adb-installer-v1-4-3.2588979/ •Now, after successfully flashing firmware, you need to reboot to recovery, from the advanced before as done before.
•Now, after rebooting, enable ADB sideload again and flash the rom with ADB sideload. Command - fastboot flash (filename.zip)

Hey Oswald,
Thanks much. I will keep the rules in mind moving forward. I may post 2-3 more from posts, I wonder why they wouldn't be tagged under development? Though I will go through the rules once again!! Cheers <3 Love.

As you see in the linked announcement, only OWN development qualifies for the prefix "Development" (or the development section i older fora).

Affirmative, this is certainly possible with this kind of thread. If you like to change the prefix of this thread from now "General" to "How-to-guide" just go ahead.

It's back to life with new maintainer:
Adarsh Grewal
Beware: You need to be on MIUI 13 to flash the latest version.
Does this rom support OTA?
Also how is the battery life on latest version

Yep it's Official PE so OTA is supported. I find it pretty much mediocre in battery life.
Hi everyone!
I just upgraded from my "old" Poco F2 Pro (K30 Pro) to this Mi 11i (K40 Pro+).
I was reading this thread but, I'm not sure if with the new official build of the Pixel Experience, it still needed to be on MIUI 12. Or can I update to MIUI 13 before unlocking it and then follow the procedure to install the PE?
Ops, my bad! Installing MIUI 13 is required
Thank you very much! Cheers
I installed finally yesterday the stable PE12 with the latest May update
It works smoothly! The only thing that doesn't work, at least for me, is the fingerprint to unlock the device (but it works in other contexts). Is someone else experiencing it? Is it maybe a known bug?
Have a nice day!
Hi all,
I tried to install PE12+ couples of time follow the instructions provided here, and I did not see any error during installation, but the phone fall into fastboot loop after restart. I need to use miflash to re-load the official rom or no other way to recover my phone.
I can see many of you can get this works on your phone, may I know are there particular issue on redmi k40 pro plus (12+256gb) phone? or Some steps are missing in the instructions? Thanks

i dont think camera apps are included in AOSP ROMS anymore, use a GCAM port.
Hi, I'm looking at replacing my Z17 with the new Z50.
However, I want to be sure I can root and install custom ROMs. The information about those capabilities seem to be quite lacking these days, does anyone have a Z50 and has rooted or installed a custom ROM on it? (even all the current red magic threads seem to have very little information about custom rom installation/development)
The Z17 supported Treble GSI images by preloading with a custom LineageOS image first. Are all newer phones treble GSI enabled, can they just be reflashed with any GSI image or do they still need a TWRP recovery etc?
The safest option would be to go for RM8P, it has more chances to have custom rom. And we know for sure that the bootloader can be unlocked, Z50's might be not

Opps sorry my bad
Never ever gonna happen again i promise 🫡
The phone doesn't seem popular enough to have a custom rom scene, it hasn't even gone for sale globally, so I'd look elsewhere.
Just for everyone's info I bought a Nubia Z50 directly from Aliexpress. Probably the cheapest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone available.

How to change the language on ZTE nubia Z50
How to change the language on a ZTE nubia Z50. Step-by-step instructions for adding languages to nubia Z50 from the device settings. Add language
www.devicesfaq.com
At this time the Nubia Z50 doesn't have an international ROM with the ability to choose more than 4 languages during the initial setup. The steps above will tell you how to add the languages manually. I hope Nubia will consider making an international ROM but international demand for the product would need to be higher.
I also bought Nubia Z50, so far so good. Everything is working, it has some minor bugs and lack of languages but perfectly usable for everyday.
Hello guys, I don't have that phone but it caught my interest.
I have found the site where ZTE (nubia parent company) releases it's open source kernels for their phones : https://opensource.ztedevices.com/
The NX711J aka Nubia Z50 is listed on here. So to me it would seem like custom recoveries, roms, and of course unlocking the bootloader should be possible.
