Hi,
I want to add a custom ringtone to available alarm ringtones.
How can I do that ?
Thanks.
I found it here:
http://droidtalk.net/how-to-add-custom-ringtones-notifications-to-your-android-device/
Code:
•Browse to the SD Card on your PC
•Look for a folder called media, if it’s not there, create it by right clicking and choosing New Folder, then rename the folder to be media
•Inside the media folder, you need a folder called audio, again, if it’s not there create it as above
•Inside the audio folder, you can create a subfolder for the sound category you want to change-
•ringtones – for sound files you want to use as ringtones
•alarms – for sound files you want to use for any alarms
•notifications – for incoming notifications such as SMS alerts, emails, etc
•Copy your sound file in to the relevant folder
You should now see your sound file listed in the menu for selection in the appropriate sound settings menu. If you don’t see your ringtones, don’t panic simply restart your phone and you’ll be all set.
To access the ringtone/notification settings, press the hard Menu key from one of your home screens, then press Settings then Sounds and Display)
Create a folder in the SD card (root) and name it Alarms. Any audio files in this folder will be available for alarm tone.

very easy way & perfect result. Thanks so much.
After I did it myself, I've found a thread that basically describes the same process here.
However I've decided to post it again with some more details:
Requirements:
WP7 with Chevron installed on your device. I'm using NoDo ROM so it's working there too.
TouchXplorer installed on your device.
Zune installed on your PC.
For more information how to install these check HERE
Steps to do it:
Sync desired ringtones as Zune music to your phone and disconnect it.
Start TouchXplorer on your device. From now on, we will work with it.
Go to [My Documents\Zune\Content\0100\<xx>] where xx should be the biggest number if more than one folder is there (might be 01, 02 etc, if in doubt select the last one)
The folder is filled with MP3 files with two letter hex number names (ex: 45.mp3, a7.mp3 etc.). Go to the end of the list and locate your ringtone(s) by listening to the files. Zune should put the last synced files at the end of the list.
Select your ringtone files(s) and cut or copy them.
Go to [My Documents\My Ringtones] and paste the files there.
Rename ringtone file(s) to the name(s) you would like to see in Ringtone settings screen (keep the .mp3 extension!). Oddly enough, MP3 description is NOT used, just the file name.
Now go to device's settings and under "ringtones & sounds" in Ringtone selector you should see your ringtone(s) together with built-in ringtones.
heyy!
didint worked for me... =/
when i try to listen the mp3 files it says
"the type initializer for "nativeAcess" threw an excepction."
Mine is 7712 xbmod unlocked...
the mp3 file is a 30 sec music....
First of all, I am not developer of these softwares. I found them over xda and web and thought to share with all of you, in all good intentions.
ADB Mask Controller

• remove & uninstall apps, clean data from deleted apps and delete orphan files
• change min & max CPU frequency (from available steps)
• view and edit: gps.conf, Hosts, build.prop, hw_config and media_profiles.xml
• view and kill running processes
• zipalign
• keyboard functionality
• search files / folders
• push and pull Bootanimation, framework-res and Framework jar files
• clean cache & temp folders and application data cache
• Enable Market to show paid apps
• Create phone log (logcat, dmesg)
• View device info
• mount r/w and mount r/o (for system) function
• and others.
It's better to backup your data before Zipaligning, because some launchers don't work correctly when they are zipaligned, causing a reboot loop.
To launch the tool
*unzip the package
*run "ADB Mask Controller.exe"
*connect your phone (enable USB debugging)
*If this is the first time you use this tool click on "Check root access and busybox". If you are sure that your phone is rooted and the tool says otherwise, make sure that your phone allows the program to have SuperUser access.
*Busybox is required in order to use this tool. If you get the result "NO" next to the Busybox Version then you must push/install it on your phone.
Hints for Wireless connection:
- To connect your phone by wireless you must install and turn on adbWireless, adb over Wifi or another similar app
- Wireless connection is slower than USB connection. It is not recommended to do advanced tasks using wireless since the connection can be interrupted more easily than USB connections.
- The display must be turned on while connected with wifi (or a wakelock must be enabled through an app e.g. Waketimer) in order to prevent the cpu from going to sleep mode while it's working with wireless adb.

Me personal love most Total Commander for android (see signature link). Seems complicated to configure in the beginning but can nearly everything: root access, ftp, samba, webdav, execute scripts, remount rw, zip, tar, rar, shortcuts &&&.
I forgot since then what root explorer was
EDIT: Oh shhhh... seen too late in topic, it's not a PC app, sorry. But nevertheless very useful.

Hi all,
Just wondering, I have a few mp3's that have album art that I'd like deleted. I've removed the cover art from the tag, but the music player still shows the cover. I've deleted the music player data but still no luck.
Is there a hidden database it keeps somewhere I can remove?
Thanks,
Ohkuni

Navigate to the Ablum folder and remove the jpg files from that folder.
Easiest way to find out where album art is stored is to open the Gallery.Album art would show up in gallery , check the location of the jpg file and then delete all jpg files
This should help !
Will give it a go thanks =)

You are welcome Mate
EDITED: nevermind, I solved it installing and running the application SDrescan. They say it can be done the hard way:
Try this:
Go to SETTINGS > APPLICATIONS > MANAGE APPLICATIONS
Select the ALL tab
Scroll down to MEDIA STORAGE
Select CLEAR DATA
The .nomedia file has to be the first file in a folder in order to ignore media there. If files are already indexed, just rename such folders forth and back (opening the Gallery in the middle) and there you go.
You can use the Nomedia application for creating easily the .nomedia
-------------------
I have same problem
It happens that the image still shows in gallery although I have already deleted it physically from gallery. The properties shown for the image are:
Title: my picture
Type: JPEG
Date:
Album: bluetooth
Location: unknown location
Latitude: unknown
Longitude: unknown
Size: 1 KB
Resolution: 0 x 0
File location: /mnt/sdcard/bluetooth
Any idea about how to solve this mess up? This image is showing as album cover for audio files that are totally unrelated.
I'm looking for a simple but flexible file manager type app for android. I use Files-by-Google predominately to scan and view images and videos so I specifically do not select "show hidden files" because I don't want Files-by-Google to ignore .nomedia files. Plus even if you do select "show hidden files" Files-by-Google shows Android>data and Android>obb as empty when these directories are clearly full of stuff when viewed over USB from the PC.
Because of this I've basically been using the Storage entry under Settings (Settings>Storage) as my default file manager. If I "show hidden files" in Storage I see the same directory structure that I see from the PC over USB. However I could not use Storage to move a set directories that had been placed in Internal_Storage>Documents from the PC over USB to where they belonged in Internal_Storage>Android>data>com.ngc.fora>files>Documents. In order to move the data to where it needed to be I had to use the PC over USB.
I'm looking for a simple but flexible android file manager that will show me everything that's there and nothing that's not with the ability to delete, copy and move files and directories to and from anywhere on the device. Also I would hope to be able to examine and traverse the entire directory structure in both the Internal_Storage space and any SD_card present. Also I refuse to use any type of cloud storage so an app that's overly bound to one cloud storage service or another is probably not the best choice.
Thank you for any suggestions.

It is open source, no ads, lightweight, uses Material design 3(android 12 with color pallete), and isn't relient on any cloud storage (but does have ftp, sftp, and smb support). It also allows you to host an ftp server from your phone so you can send files to another device.
However, it does not automatically add external storage(I've opened an issue on github), but you can easily add one from the side menu.
