I'm going to change the device. However before that I'd like to be able to backup all txt messages that I currently have on my phone. Could someone recommend an app or way to do it? Would it be possible to import all txt messages back to the new phone?
If txt messages you mean sms, it can be done in many ways. If they are other messages, you need to specify which ones you mean. Also specify both phone models.
Yes, sms and MMS messages. Google Pixel, Android 12
Use standard or pro.
SMS Backup & Restore - Apps on Google Play
A simple app that backs up and restores SMS & MMS messages and call logs.
play.google.com
Import the SMS*.xml backup file after transferring to a new device using e.g. PC to maintain full privacy. If not, use your cloud.
if you're looking for Windows solution, try MyPhoneExplorer it can backup SMS + MMS.

after exporting, connect new phone and copy %UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\MyPhoneExplorer\<device>[<IMEI>]\SMSArchive.dat into other phones directory, then you can restore all messages from archive back into phone.
Thank you both!

I have moved from Orange to 3 (UK)
So i flashed the 3 version of the ICS4 firmware as on:
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/galax...wnload-the-i9100h3glp2-firmware-at-carrier-3/
That worked out fine.
I did a backup before.
It shows that it has backed up my SMS:

When i go next
Wont let me restore them.
By flashing the 3 rom, your phones become just a i9100, no longer a i9100P. Probably whats confused Kies, thinks its a different phone and wont restore personal data (contacts, calendar etc)
Sent from my GT-P7510
So if i flash it back to Orange i would be able to retrieve that info?
alternatively, you could install a SMS backup application from the play store and restore your messages
Personally, I dont TRUST Kies. I use third-party back up tools for the job.

Click to collapse
Would still have to flash the orange firmware and restore them to the phone before i can back them up using an sms backup app?

I made this really simple app that makes copying text to your Android device from your PC (or the other way around) quite simple.
You don't need to sign-up or provide any personal details to use it. It works over any network too. Your device generates a unique code on the first run, which you enter into the PC App - and your devices are synced. You can then copy text to your device, or paste text from your device, using the copy and paste global hot-keys.
You'll need the PC App and the Android App. You can get the PC App here, and the Android app is on the Play store
I think it is a good alternative to Push Bullet for the following reasons:
You don't have to open any apps or click any buttons to push to your device or paste from it. You just select the text and press the appropriate global hotkey.
Push Bullet has universal copy paste functionality, but that's for everything that is copied. Alt-C allows you to be selective about what is copied/pasted.
You don't need to register an account to use the service. You just need to perform the initial syncing process once.
Any feedback would be appreciated!
Okay I will try to explain what I am looking for very simply and very clearly so that I am not misunderstood.
There are many apps for messaging out there, but all there focus seems on is quick replying and halo type windows.
My requirement is however different, I get messages mostly from promotion companies and stuff alike, I use web-based tools to do quick messaging, but I have other reasons that I cannot disable promotional messages (DND) on my phone.
Generally I just ignore the notification, But When I was looking for a previous text sent from a friend regarding his address, I got lost in the **** pile of messages in my phone, So I thought that I should look for an app that can Delete a message straight from notification and I don't get a clutter in my inbox.
The feature I am talking about is present in AquaMail but it is only for e-mails, I want similar feature in normal SMSs.
I am attaching a ScreenShot to give you an idea of what I am looking for (look for the second notification)

Please Help me out, Thank you in Advance
No One? Really? Help me out Please.....
Is there an application that shows the last SMS and Call exchanged between me and a caller when an incoming call is present?
So this all started when I saw a buddy's S5 while he was dialing a contact. It showed the last communication between him and said contact. I have a lot of people I frequently call and SMS throughout the day, some of them clients whose numbers I haven't saved so I don't know what our last communication was. Is there an application that can show me this information in a certain hierarchy?
1. If SMS was exchanged, show that.
2. If not, show the last call.
Things I've tried to no avail:
*Ready Contacts + Dialer
*Caller History
*Truecaller
*Contactive - Free Caller ID
*White Pages ID
*Looking for a Tasker Profile
*Looking for an S5 Dialer port for 4.3
Here are some images to get an idea of what I'm talking about:

On a side note, Truecaller is a pretty smooth application if you only want the last call to be present.
Exdialer app from the play store is really good replacement for the stock dialer it saves detailed history of the last contacts you made. Plus it loads much faster.
I used this app for years and it was perfect. Easy to use, always worked, and I loved it. I went to get it after a phone issue and I cannot find it.
SMS Scheduler could scheduled texts when ever i needed. It could also have certain texts on schedules like every monday at 2:00. It was perfect.
I believe it was called SMS Scheduler and it looked like the photos below. If anyone has it or can show me where to get it. Thank You!

Alternative good app for SMS, containing the desired feature:
Yaata
Yaata messaging app does that very well
You can use Textra SMS app
I actually found it but thanks guys!
Here it is in case anyone would like to try it.
you could simply use apps like MACRODROID to schedule everything, even sms...... and it's more powerful because it's not time related, but triggers that can send sms are almost infinite
thanks guys!
I just made a post about a similar app at https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/very-smart-text-message-automation-app.4304855/.
