Need help to install custom ROM Android 12/13 on ANE-LX1 - Huawei P20 Lite Questions & Answers

Hello guys, I have a P20 Lite with the bootloader unlocked and the latest version of emui 9. I want to install an Android 12 or 13 custom rom, Can you help me linking full and working guides or help me step by step?

It's the same as with TWRP - the higher the number, the better .

it's a classic GSI ROM, flash it simply in fastboot (you need clean stock ROM):
Guide
or
Guide 2

From stock to latest custom rom, how?

I was on CyanogenMod (I guess 13) and wanted to move to JDC rom. I did some flashing and then eventually my phone was fully stuck and booting over and over again. I followed the guide to unbrick it and this went successfully. What steps to follow now? I've found tons of guides which all use different versions of TWRP and OOS but I'm not sure what way I should go.... any help?

The problem was your bootloader. I'm writing this guide assuming that you're running a marshmallow OS.
1. Follow this guide to update your bootloader: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/general/guide-update-bootloader-firmware-to-t3478917
2. Download and flash the latest TWRP recovery found here: https://dl.twrp.me/onyx/
3. Flash the JDC ROM normally as you would've before.

Thanks for your quick reply. Currently I am not on a custom recovery yet because I'm not sure on the first step. Can I just follow the guide from step 1 without custom recovery or do I need to flash something for that first? Currently I'm on Oxygen OS 2.1 and my bootloader is unlocked.
Also, do I flash the bootloader twice in a row (first from step 1 in the guide and then again in step 2) or should I flash the latest directly?
edit: Would installing OOS3 from a zip and then installing latest TWRP be easier for me maybe even though it will take longer?

You can't use the stock recovery to flash the bootloader zip.
Installing OxygenOS 3 would be much easier for you but would take time(the download of OOS). If you decide to do so then:
1. Update OOS to 3.x.x, you'll get the newer bootloader so you won't have to flash the bootloader zip.
2. Flash the latest TWRP Recovery.
3. Normally flash the JDC ROM as you would've before.
If you don't wanna download OOS3, then follow these steps:
1. Flash the latest TWRP Recovery.
2. Then flash the bootloader zip ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9KbfmnSD_ryeU9KRnlyYW1iZm8/view )
3. Normally flash the JDC ROM as you would've before.
It worked, thanks a lot for clearing this up!

Unlocked bootloader. Do I need to flash boot.img before flashing TWRP?

System Configuration:
ROM: MIUI Global 8.1.25 | Beta
Kernel: 3.10.84-perf-g1cb6922
RAM: 2.00 GB
Device: Redmi note 3 (kenzo) with officially unlocked bootloader.
There are a number of tutorials and posts on XDA and YouTube with varying content. Some of them do not flash the boot.img, some of them do.
I will be using Ubuntu to flash using adb and fastboot. Any suggestions regarding that would be great.
Here are the steps I think I should follow ( from the posts I read):
1. Boot into fastboot.
2. Flash twrp-**.img
3. Boot into TWRP recovery.
4. Flash SuperSU
5. Flash Lazyflasher
Would that sequence cause any problem?
No problem, just flash twrp without prior boot.img flashing.

yes the steps you're mentioned above is correct, you don't have to flash boot.img. just do the steps above.

Thank you, bud! I have successfully install TWRP and also installed RR Rom on my Redmi Note 3. However, I have now lost root access.
I tried flashing the SuperSU.zip again, but to no avail. Where did I go wrong? How can I get root access back?

Thanks! Worked like charm. But I now lost root after installing RR custom Rom.
hey
I'm glad it worked, would you be so kind to post the links for those files you mentioned?
Also I'm on the latest stable Miui 9(snapdragon), will it work for me?

I recommend you to use magisk as a root access. To be safe you need to make clean flash your rom again , who's know maybe superSu already exists in your system but not appear on apps drawer by doing this your device will be cleaned from anything that can cause you into bootloop. First download magisk and magisk manager and place it in phone memory or SD card it's up to you and then reboot to TWRP ,wipe everything cache , dalvik cache , system and data then flash rom , gapps and magisk.. reboot. Search for magisk at XDA and download it.

TWRP: Go to official website and download latest version
SuperSU: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=385035244224394155
lazy-flasher: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767111293
I am not sure if it would work, but I was also on MIUI 9 and it worked for me. Hopefully, someone else here will be able to let you know. AFAIK, it should work.

Install adb and fastboot drivers .
Download orange fox recovery (place it on desktop ) https://drive.google.com/file/d/14pEu6xx0eg14uGbsf9tXCdu8LVz4z7iP/view?usp=drivesdk
Open CMD and enter into fastboot mode
In CMD type - fastboot flash recovery filelocation
For making it easy instead of putting file location , just drag the recovery file into CMD it will automatically write location .
Now simply boot into recovery by pressing volume up+ power or type fastboot boot filelocation .
Just do everything as mentioned there will be no problem , make nandroid backup asap .
What is Magisk? Thank you for the help. I'll be sure to post again if I encounter any problems.

It's a backup of your system
Before flashing anything in the custom.recovery, I recommend making a fully working ROM backup,
So you'll need to click backup in the recovery and tick
BOOT
DATA
SYSTEM
also, make a SEPARATE backup of the EFS this is very important.

Just an advise.
I think you should not try any of this mods before you study deeply the effects and the risks of it. You are so newbie that you can brick your device if you make any mistake performing the operations.
I have a Redmi note 5 AI 6/64 gb variant. After purchasing my device i have unlockd the bootloader and flash global stable rom but i can't relock the bootloader. my previous rom was MIUI 9.5.21.0 China and my current rom is MIUI 9.5.17.0. If i relock the bootloader phone boot into recovery mode and shows "This MIUI version can't be installed on this device". If i unlocked the bootloader again then phone reboot into OS. As per my findings from MIUI 9.5.6.0 bootloader can't be locked after flashing global rom on Chinese device. Its a bug from xiaomi. So my question is
1. If i flash my device into 9.2.7.0 can i relock my bootloader again and can perform OTA update?
2. I have got an OTA update MIUI 9.6.3.0. If i update my device will it get bricked? If i can update my device via OTA update will it relock my bootloader automatically? Or do I have to flash it manually?

if i found anything new, i will post here and mention you :good:
Guys
Download Miui update in zip file and flash via recovery.
It doesn't revert to stock recovery and keeps your twrp along with root intact.

I've successfully rooted my miui 10 by this method
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/how-to/guide-root-using-magisk-stock-recovery-t3718203
And i've installed miui 11 now, somehow.. latest magisk (v20.1) can't root my device with the same method. So i tried to root with magisk v2.0 (same i did in miui 10) and its work

Why don't you try installing recovery using fastboot method and then flash magisk 20.1 zip through recovery.
Please check if bootloader is still unlocked before trying this.

Unable to flash Havoc 3.6 GSI

Hi guys,
Really frustrated with this right now. I'm just trying to flash Havoc 3.6 without root on Redmi 8A Global version.
I have OrangeFox 10.1 installed from the official OrangeFox website.
I start off with MIUI 11.06 Global.
I unlock bootloader, reboot into OrangeFox fine.
If I format data and flash the rom, I get stuck on the Redmi by Xiaomi screen that says Unlocked.
If I don't format data before flashing ROM, I get bootlooped into OrangeFox recovery.
I can restore functionality by reflashing Global ROM.
I'm using ROM Havoc-OS-v3.6-20200613-Official-a64-ab.img.xz which I extracted into SD card and flashed .img to System partition.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/ha...v3.6-20200613-Official-a64-ab.img.xz/download
Please help!

I've tried to follow that but it has many things I don't need like magisk. I just want a regular rom.
Also, OP is using a China version of the device instead of global variant.

Just do not install magisk and it does not matter whether it is China version or global version.
NOTE: If you flash vbmeta you would not get bootloop.

I did flash vbmeta.
Anyway I found the solution after another 3 hours of looking around. The guide I was using missed many important steps. I needed to flash permissive and certificate patch.
