Settings app crashes instantly opening search - LG G5 Questions & Answers

When I open search in the settings app, it crashes instantly. Then I'm given the option to restart the settings app. Doing this and searching again, the same thing happens giving me the option to quit the app.
Searching for settings is more comfortable than scrolling through all entries.

Code:
com.android.settings was terminated
com.android.settings was terminated repeatedly
Thanks in advance!
Edit: I'll factory reset my device soon so the issue should be gone.
Edit 2: Factory reset didn't do anything. Search still doesn't work in settings app.

[Q] Can't cancel download

This is a new one...
Running CM9 here. I was trying to download a Ubuntu distro so I could install it, but as I was downloading, I realized my WiFi wasn't on.
So I started the WiFi and the download just hung. Now, the download shows up in the notification bar, and I can't get rid of it. I've tried rebooting, clearing caches and data from all my browser apps, uninstalling all browser apps except the basic one that came with CM9. I've tried running task killers and trying to find a service to kill.
Any ideas? Screenshot below...thanks in advance!

Random Get Apps! Icon -- Google Chrome Culprit?

Been getting shortcuts added to my screen with a missing android app icon. When moving to a folder the name of the icon is "Get Apps!" Upon letting Addon Detector monitor the system, it appears that Google Chrome is randomly creating these missing app icons. I've cleared Chrome cache, data, uninstalled, and re-installed from the play store, however, it keeps randomly appearing. Anybody have any clue as to what is going on here? I doubt Chrome is the culprit, but I have nothing else to go by.

Can't delete lock screen on android 6.0

Hello, my problem is that I can't set lockscreen to "slide" nor to "none". I m running stock 6.0 rooted rom on LG G3, and those option are just dark:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
(It says "disabled by an administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage")
I tried unticking apps with administrator access, clearing credentials, but none of these worked
The only thing that worked to change it to "slide" was to enter pattern 5 times wrong, then log with gmail account, but it is still grayed:
Any ideas on how to fix it besides factory reset? I remember some time ago I played with google settings, but I've looked through all of it and there's nothing suspicious.

How to add/edit/rearrange drop down/notification shortcuts?

Guys,
Bought the RN9 PRO today, but I cannot find a way to edit/add/rearrange the shortcuts in the drop down notification area. I'm on the latest update for MIUI 11.
Any ideas? This is what I see:

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Thanks.
Same here.
I think we cannot arrange it.
It's a bug that happens after restoring Google backup. The fix is easy using adb, just type: adb shell settings put secure sysui_qs_tiles default
Check there if you need more instructions https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/quick-settings-edit-tile-missing.54865/#post-543658
This restores quick settings back to default and the "edit" button will reappear. Worked for me.

Help identifying settings table names for Location Preferenecs

Hey I'm trying to use the "settings put" commands to change these 2 settings here:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Any idea which names correspond to these 2 settings?
Many apps want the "High Accuracy" location enabled to perform some function, so I'm constantly toggling them back and forth.
I figure I'll let a script run in the background to auto-disable them after every 30 minutes or so.
Someone gave me the bright idea of comparing the outputs of "settings list". Seems obvious in hindsight.
Code:
[global]
wifi_scan_always_enabled=0
assisted_gps_enabled=0
network_recommendations_enabled=0
[secure]
location_changer=2
location_mode=0
I'm getting warmer...
