Question Wifi icon without number after Android 13 update - Sony Xperia 1 IV

Hello, after updating to Android 13, now the wifi icon on the notification bar doesn't display the Wifi 6/5/4 number to know the kind of wifi connection.
Is there a configuration to display the type of connection on the wifi icon?

Alternatively, use
IP Widget - Apps on Google Play
IP Widget shows your connection information (WiFi, Mobile, Ethernet,...)
play.google.com
which is easily configurable and you can have what you want on the screen.

[Q] problems with poor/no provider signal (mobile data) on ray with cm9.1

hey guys,
after flashing my stock gingerbread 4.0.2.A.0.69 with baseband 8x55A-AAABQOAZM-203028D-66 to cm9.1 with that baseband and then flashing the baseband to 8x55A-AAABQOAZM-203028G-72 i had hoped that my poor/no provider signal (mobile data) problem would have vansihed, but it didn't.
in addition i'm not sure, what's the cause of the problem: ics in general, cm9.1, baseband, ril, certain settings, "status modes" etc.
first of all my usage behaviour concerning networks: while using stock gingerbread i always had wi-fi (wlan) and provider's mobile data turned on simultaneously, so i wouldn't have to switch wi-fi on/off and would have it right away at home and at work as well as provider's mobile data anywhere else; i know that drains battery, but that's not my problem now
symptoms now after switching to cm9.1: with wi-fi and provider's mobile data turned on simultaneously and e.g. moving away from the wi-fi e.g. outside the house the following happens: the device doesn't switch/connect to provider's mobile data automatically (the network status bar icon turns from blue at home to grey and stays that way). i have to manually search available networks in the settings, choose my provider and connect.
the same happens after i haven't used the device for quite a while - e.g. over night. at home i use of course wi-fi but provider's mobile data is turned on simultaneously. when i explicitly switch off wi-fi the device doesn't switch/connect to provider's mobile data automatically (the network status bar icon turns from blue to grey and stays that way) anyways. i have to manually search available networks in the settings, choose my provider and connect.
and rarely the complete network service (incl. phone funcionality) won't work anymore (the network status bar icon turns from blue to grey and has an "x" in it).
so, that behaviour is quite annoying. what might be the reason?
i'm not sure, if they are important in my case, but anyways here are some of my settings:
Phone: Xperia Ray (Urushi)
Android: 4.0.4 [ICS]
Baseband: 8x55A-AAABQOAZM-203028G-72
Kernel: 2.6.32.9-FXP [email protected] #1
Rom: Cyanogenmod 9.1.0-urushi
provider: o2 (in germany)
network mode: 3g (toggled to via widget button in notification drawer which was set via settings -> system -> notification drawer -> widget buttons/button modes -> network modes 2g/3g only)
mobile network settings:
data enabled YES (all other settings are NOt enabled)
access point names: o2 internet
advanced wi-fi settings:
keep wi-fi on during sleep: always (all other settings are default or off or not changeable anyways)
your help is very much appreciated
thx a lot in advance!

hope this won't be considered as spam, but still hoping for help i just wanted to get the thread into focus again

after three weeks i dare a last try to get feedback on this

[Q] Battery drain WiFi related

ZTE Grand X In, Android 4.0.4.
Google Talk services are draining battery, that seems to be known problem. But, this issue for this topic is different one.
I checked Better Battery Stats, Better WiFi. Seems that wake related to wifi is the main issue many times.
The problem is - when I have WiFi hotspot, good signal, got connection, but do not get network access (needs to be authenticated), all of that in background (no alert, no visible action on screen). So, on WiFi screen I can see connected, but actually I did not get network access, so all services which need network access (including Google services) are simultaneously trying to go to network, to get updates or any other data and - that is draining battery heavily - access to network is not existing.
Anybody experienced this? How to fix this issue?
So, connected to WiFi hotspot, very good signal, the WiFi is connected.
No network access (WiFi needs to be authenticated), all of that in background (no alert, no visible action on screen).
For example - trying to reach 8.8.8.8 - Google DNS does not work
Phone is rooted (just to say that - I may install any application that would be helpful, also, access to configuration files available).
What needs to be done? Which parameters are to be reconfigured?
How to control the number of attempts Android is doing from different applications to access network resources?

You can try to Force Close your Wear OS app on your mobile. And try to reconnecting. Hope its help.
If your watch is paired with an Android phone and has Wi-Fi, your watch can automatically connect to saved Wi-Fi networks when it loses the Bluetooth connection with your phone.
This lets your watch and phone to automatically stay synced at any distance over the Internet.
That way, you can get notifications and use voice search on your watch throughout your home and work even when you leave your phone in a different room. Press the middle pusher button to power up display.
Press the middle pusher button to enter the app menu. Scroll and tap on Settings. Tap on Connectivity. Tap on Wi-Fi. Tap on Wi-Fi off, to turn it on. When on, the Wi-Fi should say Automatic. If Wi-Fi is set to Automatic, your watch will automatically connect to any known, available network when your watch does not have a Bluetooth connection to your phone.
Tap on Add network. Scroll to find your network and tap. Power on phone and start Wear OS by Google app. Tap Enter on phone to complete password entry. Enter password on phone.

Question Open Wi-Fi 'no internet'

Hi guys,
Weird problem:
Since I'm on Android 12, my Nord 2 loses internet connection on open wifi networks.
On Android 11, never had a problem. I choose the open wifi at work ''AZ-D guest'' (free Wi-Fi from the hospital), and stayed connected all day.
Since A12, once I connect to the same open wifi at work, the pop up screen asks to agree the policy and I can use the network a few minutes. After a screen off and unlock screen, the wifi stays connected, but notifies ''no internet''
Forget network and reconnect: no pop up screen appears to reconnect, only solution is restart the phone...
Same problem with the free WiFi network from my internet provider called ''Telenet Hotspot'', also one time able to connect, but after a few minutes of inactivity, stays WiFi connected, but 'no internet'
Tried already:
- reset Network settings
- change private DNS to cloudflare or Google DNS , or without DNS
- disabled 'standby optimisation during sleep'
- use static AP
- use device MAC address
Nothing helps...
Any solutions?

No option, I like my OS up to date, not easy with this device's late update policy
