Hi. I have an A52 5g model SM-A528B/DS Android 13 One UI 5.0. I need to be able to set the screen to maximum brightness, that's now only enable by sunlight mode only with direct light on the screen. I USE THE PHONE WITH drones And with the maximum brightness set by the bar is not possible to see the drone footage outdoor. Has any mode, hack or app that I can set the maximum brightness manually and maintain in that brightness.
Your phone will melt down if you record 4K more than 10 minutes in direct sunlight as it will get too hot.

Hi. Zdrawko0o. I don't record in any mode? The drone record and save on they SD card. I need just enable more brightness to use the phone as screen when I use the drone. And I don't use the phone in direct sunlight I record under an sunshade or gazebo.
I see now.
I think thats possible with root.

Is it normal that auto-brightness doesn’t work in camera mode? It is very hard for me to use the camera properly in stronger sunlight outside, the display is too dark and I can’t see nearly anything.
I’ve only found option “visibility outside“ but it doesn’t help much + this option is also disabled by default every time I start the camera again. Is it possible to somehow increase the display brightness in camera mode? Thanks
Does anyone have a solution to auto brightness issue?
Even in the darkest room, the lowest light level is "medium" and not low! Its excellent setting when using phone outdoors but in dark room or at night its just too bright. Is my phone broken or is it general windows phone setting?

on my titan, the auto brightness behaviour is erratic and sometimes goes too low.
the camera is one of the issue triggers. after every return from a photo session, the screen goes to a lower brightness.
also, sometimes it happens when unlocking the phone but i don't know what triggers it. then suddenly the screen would return to its normal brightness after a few seconds, although not always.
i suppose it's a driver issue...

so you get the autobrightness to go as low as 'low' set manually? - I tried it but even after camera the lowest brightness I am getting is same as 'medium' when set manually!

no, not that low only lower.
but you are right, even in complete darkness the screen won't go to its lowest setting...
Yes same issue here.
Automatic can go a little bit lower than medium, but not much. Too bright in dim environement.
For general use, i would like to have a preset between low and medium
Since these days many people like ultra bright screens (and ultra loud sound) i am not sure HTC will try to fix this "issue".
I just hope Microsoft can add a brightness slider in the future. (Or bility to set the min auto and max auto levels)
Btw, do you know why camera mode go into max brightness ? This is a little harsh indoor.

Yes that behaviour is very strange too! I think it's present only in the Titan. Some other windows phone manage the camera brightness a little better. But then I think increased brightness while using camera sort of makes it little pleasant when using it outdoors. But indoors as you mentioned, it's a bit too harsh brightness!
I think it's the light sensor that doesn't work properly. Some places/forums mentioned about issues with various HTC driverseven after those 2 softwares updates we received in Nov-early Dec.
In daylight, the auto brightness works wonderfully for me,I never change it.
But in a fairly dark room,it's too bright and most of the time,I set it to low
I usually set it to medium... and set to low by myself by night.
I have sent a message to HTC (via theirs contact/ticket system) about the "can be improved" auto brightness, and "camera set brightness to max" issues.
Better than nothing.
Since this is a easily reproductible problem, maybe they can take a look if they receive several messages about this.
I wonder if the screen going to max brightness with camera may have something to do with the "HTC Camera modes" addon ? (who knows..)
But i don't see how to remove it. I even can't find it on the marketplace (under HTC section).
I have same issue, I get blinded when I check the time on my phone at night
It was there even before camera modes update was applied by HTC. So unlikely

Obviously, the brightness go to max too when using skype with video.
Hope they will notice and fix it.
Trying to talk to HTC customer service is especially unhelpful here in france.
They have absolutely no knowledge of theirs WP7 products
(whatever the problem encountered)
Now that we have unlocked roms, any way to tweak the auto brightness ?

I've tried all 4 ROMs and they have the same behaviour as stock ROM at the moment. But it might be useful looking into the registry threshold values. I know there is some sort of home brew app that lets us set the volume increase in 10s, 20s, 30s or 50s. So a regedit might be somewhere, will dig around myself since you've reminded me again
Hi
I'm just wondering if anyone else on here is facing the same issue? Or if this is working flawlessly for everyone?
When I have the phone on automatic brightness and go outside on a sunny day, the display will occasionally turn on the maximum brightness mode, but only for about 2-10 seconds and then it goes back to the standard maximum brightness that you can manually adjust it to. It also doesn't go back to the super bright mode after no matter how long I have tried to get it back. I even aimed the screen right towards the sun in hopes the screen would get bright again. The super bright mode works maybe once every time I turn the phone on, and then immediately turns back off, after a few seconds, extremely frustrating.
Is anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it? Maybe there is some way to manually activate the outdoor mode?

Thanks
I also want to have this function manual enable but at the moment I think they don't care about this. The screen is too dim compare with other top phone. I have 2 lg g5 and I think that is the reason I am gonna sell both phones.
It may be too dim in Auto but the maximum brightness is bright enough. I don't need to burn my eyes. The maximum brightness is already too much for day-to-day use.
I do wish :
1. that 100% will be the true 100% of this screen - meaning the brightness boost I get in the sun.
2. the in the display setting, I could set the auto brightness to be + X% of the default value. For example, if I set it to +20%, then if the usual auto mode sets the brightness to 50%, it will actually set it to 60%.
Overall this phone is solid, fast, camera is amazing , sound is good ..Sure, a 3500mah could have been nice but I'm happy.
So when you're outdoors, even if it's overcast there's no way to slide the brightness down (It auto-snaps to full brightness) even though it's not needed.
I have situations where i could easily use half brightness but my phone forces auto max light
YES, I know i can disable auto brightness completely, but that would not be convenient.
Any fix for this?
I use an app called Lux. Tons of options with it.

Hmmmm, Im not sure how it works but it does have an auto mode which you can tweak on the fly.
I have noticed that also. It also jacks up the contrast to make it easier to see.
It makes pics you took look terrible when viewing them outside. I had to learn to NOT delete them until I check them indoors. I assumed some pics I took were crap at first, but it was just the jacked screen contrast that made them look bad.
On my S9+ in bright sunlight it happens that not only something happens to the contrast and colors (eg. reds become somewhat pinkish) but also black elements on screen start flickering/smudging while scrolling. It looks like the device turns into some sort of brightness boost mode.
Does anyone else experience anything like that?

That's exactly what happens to me. Also if you slide the screen you can see how it the colors are totally distorted.

Check out the screenshot. There's an option to enable brightness slider in the notification bar. Becomes easier to adjust brightness just by sliding down the notification bar.

Did you read what the problem is? outdoors it snaps to max no matter what. (Unless not in auto mode)
Any solution for this problem?
Turn off auto brightness when outdoors..
Guys I've noticed that even if you turn off auto brightness go out in the sun and turn the screen up to max manually,it will kick up into super brightness mode or shine a led light at the sensor when indoors simulating the sun, just like it does with auto brightness on.sammy really want us to get burn in I think so we have to buy new screens all the time?

Never had a screen burn in on a Samsung phone. Don't worry
Guys, idk if this is a S10 only feature (or Android Pie), but when I'm on that situation, if I lower the brightness slider and leave it there for a second or two, the brightness will actually stay down and not jump back up again. Worth a try.

After the S9+'s update to Pie some of the old settings get copied to the new OS, but if you don't go into the settings and check, things might not be configured correctly - I had to choose a different setting and then choose again what was previously selected to ensure that it was written into the Settings correctly.
With the new update the "Automatic Brightness" applies to the AOD - see here in this screenshot, my search of the Settings for the word "auto brightness", see what comes up in attachment #1.
What you need to do is go to the "Adaptive Brightness" and turn it on, then manually adjust your brightness under a few different conditions (EG: Indoors lights off, outside and overcast, and bright sunny day). Now your phone will understand what setting you want for different conditions and automatically adjust the brightness based on lighting conditions, see attachment #2.
The "auto brightness" is now used for the AOD, and has nothing to do with brightness when unlocked. The reason it "auto snaps to full brightness" is likely because previous settings were just copied over after the update and you haven't setup (and trained) the new "Adaptive Brightness" for various light levels. The AOD has both "Auto Brightness" and double-tap the clock to adjust AOD brightness.
Hi
after upgrading my A3 with Android 10 (EU Version) by OTA standard upgrade I also have the issue that the display brightness is often reduced to a very low level even if the brightness automatic is set off and manually set to 100% or 90%. Typical case is when putting the phone after short usage in "stand by" via the power button and then pressing the power button again for reactivation and then the display turns on on amuch lower brightness then before.
Normally i can log in and then switch manually the brightness from high to low again to high level which will give full brightness back. But doing this is really anoying and yesterday i recognized that outside with sunglasses on i cannot read or do this procedure because the phone seems to be of/dark.
So is there a fix for this display problem?
Thank you very much!
