Hi, so I was playing with ADB and changing screen resolution, I changed it to 50x100 and my device just rebooted. Now I can't access anything because the screen is so small.
Is there any way to reset the screen resolution without a hard reset?
Note: I can access bootloader/recovery mode

No, I tried installing an update through ADB, sdcard, or a custom bootloader, nothing worked.
unless you can connect TV or something there is no way other than factory reset.

Can you connect to TV? I tried using scrcpy to view the screen on pc but ADB doesn't connect if phone isn't unlocked.
I think adb will work on lock screen, because I have unlocked pattern with scrcpy myself. most likely it doesn't boot. to my excuse must confess that devices were not encrypted, maybe your device behaves different.

Yea... It was working before my phone rebooted after I changed the resolution, now when I run "adb devices" it shows nothing.
I have a Moto G Power (2021) and it won't connect ADB if the screen is locked.
What kind of lock do you have? Pattern, Pin or Paswword.
You should be able to type with a OTG keyboard.
Actually, even if you use a swipe pattern, there are ways to get that.
How did you set screen size? wm size?
Ha, You nearly did me in. I set my lock pattern to one that practically can not be done by a human.
Unfortunately the vertical position of the set lock pattern is not the same as the main unlock pattern.
It took me 10 minutes to unlock my device.

The only reward for failure is a factory reset...
The biggest problem is that it doesn't actually show where you are touching.
I'm trying to unlock it again with the display set to 800x360 res instead of 1600x720.
Edit: I did get it unlocked. Still, with 50 x 100 it could be tough.
don't forget the sim pin...

Mmm, you have to use my usbcfg (also not listed yet) to configure the USB to adb,hid
You can run it as an init service or just as a shell command but you'll need to be rooted.
You'll also need to chmod 666 /dev/hidg0 or use ueventd.rc

By any chance can I root or do anything at all with bootloader locked?
I tried getting the UNIQUE_KEY needed for oem unlock, but it said I needed to enable oem unlocking at developer options, which I can't access.
unlocking bootloader forces factory reset. again why don't you buy OTG hub??

I'm losing context here.
All that usbcfg stuff I was talking about is to use on a separate Android if you needed to pattern unlock a different Android.
If you've got the screen lock still stuck you'll have to do that first before you start talking about rooting.
I think all it needs is adb shell wm size reset

Updated GS4 to Kitkat w/ root via Safestrap method from Tom's youtube. My phone defaults to swipe lock screen. When I go to set lock screen everything is grayed out stating Turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage. PIN and Password are not grayed but I set a PIN and it doesn't prompt me to enter. I want to set at least a pattern unlock. Any advice?

Hi!, I have a RAZR D3 (XT919). It ships with Android 4.1.2, but I upgraded it to 4.4.2. A few days ago, I dropped it, and the screen shattered, the screen itself it's not broken, I mean, it displays what it needs to, but half of the screen lost the "touch" capabilities, meaning that I can't input my unlock pattern. I've tried everything in order to be able to unlock it (do not ask why I need it to be unlocked, I just NEED it unlocked), I tried through ADB, but, USB debugging is not enabeld (it actually IS enabled, but I can't confirm the debugging access to my pc because it does not show up the window that asks for confirmation, and, even if it did, I would not be able to tap it not because of the broken screen, because I think the touch part that is still working is in range, but because it would not let me tap it in the unlock screen), I tried through flashing a zip file (actually, lot's of them) that in theory disabled the pattern... yet, no luck (I'm aware that I may needed to input a random pattern, it didn't worked), I tried a file manager made for recovery mode, didn't worked either. So, in short terms, I tried tons of things to unlock the damn phone (factory reset is not an option) and nothing works. I just don't know what to do, I will be buying a new one, of course, but I need it unlocked right now. Oh, I also tried with a USB-OTG cable with either the pc keyboard and mouse, the device simply does not support it. So... yeah, I'm pretty much screwed. Don't be afraid to post any complicated solution, just keep in mind, to make it as clear as possible, thanks for caring and I hope somebody would be able to help me!
Do you have twrp installed?
If so, Go to twrp>file manager>data>system and there delete lockscreen.db and reboot

Sorry, I'm not sure that I do (most likely not), even if I did, how am I supposed to browse my files? I can't acces my phone through my pc either unless I enable US debugging (literally, it shows no folder neither files... it's like an empty windows folder), thanks for caring anyway

That's because phone is Pattern locked.

Nevermind guys, thanks for trying to help, but I already bought a new phone (LG F60). It's not that I wasn't gonna buy a new one anyway, but, I wanted to check some stuff on some apps that were on the functional part of the screen, anyway, you said you have some tricks for LG devices, if you know anything to get some tweaking or just for knowledge for any problem that I may encounter in the future, let me know (I don't want to root it yet because I will lose guarantee). With that said, thanks agakn for trying, I hope this is not the only time I'll get to this forum. See ya!
I can unlock my phone OK with my fingerprint, but I can't remember my pattern unlock (well, I think I can, but the phone doesn't accept it). I need the pattern to modify the fingerprint unlock, e.g. to add more fingers. Anyone know how to reset the pattern when fingerprint is working OK?
I'm on stock .253.

Well This Is Very Easy To Fix .
Follow The Steps:
1) Identify the Gmail registered with the device.
2) Check whether "Android Device Manager" is enabled in Settings-> Security -> Device Administrators if not enabled ,then enable it .
3) Login to Device Manager
https://www.google.co.in/android/devicemanager
4) There you will find an option to "Lock the device" . Lock it with new Password/Pattern.
That's It
Hope It Helps
Please hit Thanks If worked!
Note: Do Connect The Phone To Internet!

Thanks. I think this would have worked, or I could have used myxperia.sonymobile.com similarly. Unfortunately I rebooted the phone, and it turns out, even with fingerprint enabled, that it needs a pattern to unlock the first time after rebooting! I had to wipe it with Xperia Companion (there seems to be no on-device recovery user interface that we can use), which was annoying.
I've now set it up again and made very sure I knew the pattern before adding fingerprints!

Hi people!
I know, I'm completely newbie in this.
But I'm getting in trouble and confused about it.
The question is simple:
What's means FRP lock / unlocked and Phone lock / unlocked?
And what's the difference between them?
FRP means Factory Reset Protection. If locked your phone will be protected of unauthorized factory resets. If a stranger tries to reset your phone, the phone will ask for your Google password on startup.
So if you unlock FRP you will lose that protection but this is required too unlock your bootloader (that's what you called phone locked/unlocked).
Phone locked (bootloader locked) means that you cannot make any changes too the partitions of your phone for example the recovery. So you are required to unlock your phone to install custom recoveries and ROMs like TWRP or RR etc.
Hope I could help you clear some things up.
If you're planning to sell your Android phone, make sure to remove your Google account from it first or else the next owner wouldn't be able to use it.
FRP means Factory Reset Protection. If locked your phone will be protected of unauthorized factory resets. If a stranger tries to reset your phone, the phone will ask for your Google password on startup.
So if you unlock FRP you will lose that protection but this is required too unlock your bootloader (that's what you called phone locked/unlocked).

actory Reset Protection (FRP) is a security method that was designed to make sure someone can't just wipe and factory reset your phone if you've lost it or it was stolen. Starting with Android Lollipop, FRP is "standard" in vanilla Android, and most companies making our phones have implemented it in their own models.Mar 29, 2016

My question is going to sound stupid, but now that I've got the unlock code for the bootloader, how do I unlock the FRP?
It is to this part that I am lost.

Hi,
OK so I activate the OEM to unlock the FRP.
And for unlocking the Bootloader I can use Huawei Multi Tools?
Should I delete my Google Account or Huawei before doing these manipulations?
I do not have fingerprint or pattern lock.
Thanks in advance for your answers.
This video is for the Honor 8, but the same steps are used to unlock the bootloader on the Honor 9.

I unlocked the bootloader. Done on the instructions of the website:https://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin/unlock/step. After unlocking bootloader on my phone fastboot appeared the inscription "PHONE Unlock" and "Unlock FPR". On my device sprosili settings. After that, I re-entered entered the Google account, but the phone then began to hang periodically. I went into developer mode, done a factory reset there. And decided to turn back. Went to fastboot, blocked Downloader. Phone rebooted, then on the screen appeared the inscription: "Relock PHONE" and "FPR Lock". Out of fastboot, there was a black window where it says to restore the system through recovery in the air, but when I try to do fails. Help me, please!

It's a Huawei Ascend XT2 H1711. I mention OEM Unlock because literally every single post or guide on the subject insists that OEM Unlock be in the on position to deal with the FRP lock problem, and I can't even toggle it. And thank you, but I do know what FRP stands for. I've now realized it's only a problem for fastboot, anyway. I'm able to use Magisk and TWRP without a problem.

I have no experience with Huawei,
But have bypassed frp on several devices and never did anything with OEM unlocking.
I suggest searching YouTube for frp and your device, that's what I do.

You can try to remove the FRP lock by means of executing this sequence of ADB commands
Code:
adb devices
adb shell "am start -n com.google.android.gsf.login/"
adb shell "am start -n com.google.android.gsf.login.LoginActivity"
adb shell "content insert --uri content://settings/secure --bind name:s:user_setup_complete --bind value:s:1"
adb reboot
