Got my S23U today, I had bought the Spigen tough armour case for it.
I have found that this case seems pretty bad for use with screen protectors. I had put a glass screen protector on and when I pushed the phone into the case, it makes the sides of the screen protector lift a tiny bit as it shows a load of bubbles that weren't there at all prior to putting into the case.
I tried putting another screen protector on and tying again and this one done exactly the same.
After looking at it all, the case is very thick, so i am going to try to get a different one.
Has anyone else tried this case?
I bought one for my S22U but I only used it briefly. It wasn't a good ergonomic fit for me.
The dbrand grip case I'm using is and I highly recommend it. I have one on order for my S23U.
No screen protector compatibility issues with it either.

Spigen makes their own screen protectors that are meant to work with their cases. I have never used one though as the Tough Armor always extends far enough beyond the screen of the phones I've used it on that I've never managed to crack one.
i always been curious why people wear their phone with these gigantic extreme cases.
I'm definitely pro case, but phone are already quite tough, an a little layer of silicone (plus possibly a glass screen protector) would be enough to prevent damages in most of the circumstances

I have large hands. Big cases actually make it easier for me to type without cramping my fingers. In addition to making sure I don't break the glass on my expensive toy.
Keep in mind, I used to carry around this thing... Nothing these days compares to the thickness of this thing.

I'd suggest going with the Neo Hybrid and Spigen's screen protector
I've had the Spigen Tough Armor for probably 5 of my past phones and it is definitely a favorite of mine. I change cases every few days along with the Spigen Liquid Crystal, Samsung S-View, a leather wallet case, and the CaseBorne heavy-duty case. This year's S23U CaseBorne is a bit too big and tight for me, so it likely won't be in rotation very often. I don't use any screen protector.
My problem with spigen cases is that the power & volume buttons are open not fully sealed like samsung cases or other high end covers which get dust & particles into the cover & scratches the frame when trying to remove it
Perfect combo for me.
Of the 2 Spiegen cases that I use, the Liquid Crystal does have open button coverings, but the Tough Armor does not.

Hey all. I purchased the TryIt black leather flip case with the stand about 2 weeks ago off ebay $44.69 shipped. I honestly didn't like it at first but it has grown on me. It takes a while to get used to holding the phone with the case cover flipped back. My only real complaint is the sturdiness of the kick stand. Looking at the pictures on ebay, i thought the kick stand was metal. It actually is a cheap plastic stand that snaps off really easily. A little bit of pressure makes it come off, luckily it snaps back into place. The genuine leather gives it a nice feel. The ID/credit card slots are convenient. However, it can only hold up to 4 cards comfortably. The fitment of the case hugs the note perfectly with all holes aligned. Surprisingly it doesn't add much bulk. Enough rambling...now for the pics:

That's a bummer about the kickstand. How is the call quality with with the case closed and how easy is it to remove from the case itself?

call quality is fine with the case closed. i was thinking the caller would sound muffled, but they actually sound clear. removing the case seemed quite difficult at first, but after doing it several times, you get used to it. at first it seems like you will break the clip on liner but it actually is really durable.
I'm really digging the look of this case. How much was it?

i got it off ebay $44.69 shipped. a lil pricey, but i say the black leather is what makes it worth it for me. ill add this info to the review. thanks for the reminder.
I'm thinking of ordering the non-flip version of this case. Does the top bezel touch the surface of the display at all? It looks like it only touches the sides. I want to add a Glas.t screen protector, but I don't want the case to touch it.
Also, how much size and weight does this add? Would you consider this a slim case (without the flip cover)? Thanks.

top bezel does not touch the surface. you will be fine if you order the glass screen protector.
it doesnt add much weight at all. i would consider it a slim case if it is the one without the flip cover.
Thanks. Does the bezel all you to place the phone face down without the display touching the table? It looks like the bezel might be slightly raised above the level of the display (not once the glas.t protector is on, though).

the bezel is slightly raised, but its like half a mm. i still feel like the screen touches the table when on its face. i wouldnt recommend having the face down with this case.
I'm still thinking of getting this case. How is your holding up? Also, have you ever tried the Elago G4 or Rearth Ringke Slim? I'm curious how much thicker this case is over the others.

the case is holding up pretty well. i haven't tried any other cases other than this one so far. i am actually thinking about purchasing the seido active case with the kickstand. i did have my first drop a couple weeks ago. i was in my car with the door open and it slipped out of my jacket pocket. when it hit the ground it actually popped out of the case. luckily it wasnt too high off the ground. there was no damage to the phone since it was in the case when it hit, but when it popped it, it did slide a couple inches. i can confirm that this case is not made for drop protection.
I have the Samsung flip case, using it now, not sure to keep it. It's so unconvinced compare to my non-flips one. What the better way to use it? hard to hold unless fold the flip all the way to the back, take extra time to "open the case" .... Grrrr
just purchased the mugen power extended battery. pm me if you are interested in this case since i dont need it anymore.
I was just wandering is there any people out there using your S6 Edge completely naked(without screen protectors and/or cases)? What kind of lifestyle do you have and how's the phone? I plan to use it completely naked.
Thanks.
I would also do..but ATM I use a very small plastic case for the back...nothing on front..no scratches..

No not naked big ass rubber case and screen cover but I'm a builder so need it
Naked S6 edge feeling so good))) im use only naked phones)))
I've seen plenty of people say they have scratched theirs in there pockets, so mine is fully protected.
I have the Spigen that is TPU with gold trim
Mine got scratch... in my porch with some coins.. my mistake let it together... my edge only 3 weeks used... feeling down rite now.. i think gorilla 4 is tough enough. ....

I hate phone cases normally but I find the edge really uncomfortable in the hand and far too slippery! Ended up getting a Spigen hybrid crystal and it's actually quite nice. It doesn't make the phone look too tacky and it's slightly rubberised - saved me from dropping it a few times already!
I just use the full body cover. I was using a case, but once you cover up the front and back and sides, the grip of this thing is more then enough. I hate cases and I like the feel of the phone without it. So, that's just how I roll. I'm glad I put the protector on though, cause I've already seen scratches on the protector and a few dings/dents. Woudl rather replace the film for $10, then replace the damn phone.
Almost naked but I use a Skin on the back. I travel with my phone and am always on the move.
h t p s://slickwraps.com/natural-series-wraps-skins-for-samsung-galaxy-s6-edge.html
I always use the phones fully naked, and they all get scratches. My S6 Edge already have some scratches on the back, i just don't mind. I rather have some little scratches than have to use a screen protector, i hate the feeling of it.
About my life style, i do a lot of sports and stuff and the phone goes to bags, pockets, gets water sprays, a little rain, dirt , dust .. for my iphone i do use sometimes a Lifeprof case for extreme sports, for android phones they usually go naked because i change the device a lot so i don't buy cases for them. I never cracked a screen thought .
I'm using it naked as well. Important to make sure you always have a dedicated pocket for it.
I'm an indoor engineer, so the phone doesn't have the risk of dropping (unless I have butter fingers, but i don't). In my lab if it's not in my pocket, I put it on a non-slip mat.
I also have a Spigen slim armor which I use when I'm out cycling, misc sports or with the kids. 4 weeks now. Flawless
Mines naked. I figure I'd just be careful instead of compromising and not experiencing the phone as intended.
I'm looking into cases anyway though because I'm getting scratches on the bottom of the back. It hasn't even been a month so I could only imagine what it'll be in two years.

Thank you all for your inputs. I decided to go with the Nilkin TPU case. It adds grip but looks like nothing is actually there. It is easy to remove when I like to use the phone naked. I have to wait for the Curved Crystal Screen Protector from Spigen to be available here until then I have to be careful. Sometimes I even put the plastic wrap from the box when I put it in a bag just to be sure. Lol.
No case, no front screen protector, just a back screen protector and a cotton pouch. I used this combo with my other glass phones an it worked out perfectly since I don't drop my phones

I got the S6 edge after shattering my totally naked Note 4. I was a bit crushed, especially since I got that 8 months ago after doing the same with the naked Note 3. So I vowed I would use protection this time. I bought the skinomi screen protector and the Spigen Ultra Hybrid for my S6E. I absolutely hated the skinomi. It made the screen feel and look disgusting. I'd rather break my screen and not have a phone than use that nasty thing. The Spigen case is ok, but it takes away from the beauty of the phone's curves. Also it seems to mainly protect the back of the phone, which is quite cheap ($30+ original oem). So I took that off too. I just need to be more careful *fingers crossed*.
Total naked for now. Got the Nillkin tempered glass back protector on the way and that's the only thing I will put on. It came with 2 protector for the camera lens as well. Need something on the back to prevent scratches from putting the phone on any surface.
Naked, I can't appreciate the phone all covered up.
Just want to ask now how is everyone doing with being naked especially on the front screen?
I will never use cases had a military drop tested case for my Nexus 5 and smash, maybe that one i had was a quality control issue ?
But i very much like Dbrand ?
today I got my level 5 performance series case from Incipio today.
Anyways so far I like the case a lot compared to my Otterbox Defender. The case is very durable but thinner and more sleek than the Defender. The holster is top notch and premium as well granted I never use the holsters with my cases but some might like it.
The built in screen protector also fits very tight to the screen too and the home button on the bottom of the protector has a plastic frame all around it but doesn't affect using the finger print scanner. It looks like less dust will get under this due to it being tighter and really no gaps near the home screen for dirt to get under.
The only downside to the built in protector like the Otterbox Defender it's not very clear. granted it is a lot more responsive than the Defender though and has no rainbow effect. Not impressed by the clarity but not really much out there right now to protect the screen.
Only other downside I see is the speaker volume is a little softer due to the protector covering it.
Overall I say this is a great case. However you might want to look at the Level 4 because Amazon has the white case for about 31 bucks if you want to use your own tempered glass and not have a built in protector because otherwise the level 4 is almost the same thickness as the level 5 but maybe with a bit less of a raised edge around the screen.

i wouldn't say a hard plastic but more of a soft, matte finish.
I really dig the case except the built in screen protector sucks just like the otterbox defenders does. This one might be worse but it is far more responsive and tight to the screen.
If there would have been good tempered glass protectors out there I would have simply bought the level 4 case which doesn't have the built in protector and is only 27 bucks now on amazon.
Just wanted to bump the thread. Got this case today and it is really good. The white and black are on sale for $25 at Walmart and Amazon. I agree that the screen protector is responsive but the clarity is horrible. I don't care as much about screen protection so I just popped the screen protector off the front cover - solves that problem. I can always add a screen protector directly to the screen later on. The feel of the case is very good in hand and is the best "protective" case I've tried for the S7, better than the Poetic and Supcase ones, at least.
I highly recommend this case especially at $25.

The other issue I don't like is the audio is muffled due to that section being covered. When using my Otterbox or Supcase the audio is a lot louder than the Incipio.
I saw Amazon knocked the price down. Otherwise I'd say order the level 4 protector from Amazon if you don't want the screen protector then. Still rated for 13ft drop (I never trust drop ratings) and is cheaper than level 5. On the level 4 the audio sounds louder too. I'm guessing because it doesn't have port covers or a screen protector more sound can escape through the case. I might just go back to my level 4 vs the Otterbox Defender since I keep getting dirt under the screen and go naked on teh screen.

I'm currently using the Spigen thin fit case and I love it, looks awesome as its not thick like most cases.
this is my option :
- SPIGEN Rugged Armor Samsung Galaxy S7 – BLACK
- RINGKE Slim SAMSUNG Galaxy S7
- SHUMURI Slim 0.35mm Samsung Galaxy S7
- VERUS Single Fit Samsung Galaxy S7
I've literally tried almost every big name brand at this point. And I love the Ringke SLIM Case
I have the Spigen Slim Fit and was happy with it until I found the Nillkin frosted.
http://www.nillkin-case.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=4469
I now have both and only ever use the Nillkin. They're very similar but the Nillkin is very slightly thinner whilst offering great protection and also has slightly less plastic covering the phone, which I like. It also has better grip as the back is textured (nurled) and Spigen is mat-ish finish. The coating on the Spigen has also started to chip/wear after only a short time, which is disappointing. The Nillkin doesn't have any coating as it's through-coloured and the texturing is moulded in so no wear issues at all. The final decider was that the Nillkin obscures less of the screen (by about 1mm each side) than the Spigen and the lip at the front is also lower, making swiping in from either side easier. The Nillkin also works perfectly with the Ultimate Shield Tempered Glass protector as there's around 1/2mm clearance between the protector and edge of case.
One last thing is that the plastic it's made from isn't totally rigid but it is hard-ish. It does have some elasticity, which can only be a good thing. You can twist the case very slightly with gentle force and this flexibility must surely give greater bump protection than the rigid plastic cases which just shatter in impact. It also allows wireless charging as well without any issue.
The Nillkin is the best case I've ever had and perfect balance of protection, coverage and grip and for the money its' unbeatable. I'll be buying these from now on for all my phones.

For me that's a positive. I wanted a minimal case but which will still give good protection. If you want ultra protection you need a rugged case. The likelihood of dropping the phone cleanly on one of the ends (perpendicular impact) is almost zero. With this case the back and corners are (almost) fully covered and AFAIAC that's enough. The Spigen Ultra Slim that you said you liked in the OP gives the same level of protection to the ends but possibly 1-2mm more corner protection but they're still not fully covered. TBH I don't see why either company couldn't cover the ends and corners fully (with a small slit on the corners to allow for fitting), would seem logical.
You can try Ringke's Ultra Thin case. It covers all sides of the phone. Very lightweight and and thin.

Not sure if this classifies as "slim" for most people, but I came from an LG G3 with the Zerolemon battery so anything is slim. Wireless charging, Samsung pay, all work with this case.
I chose a little more "bump" for my buck with the Symmetry case, but I've since dropped it several times and had no adverse effects.

Hi there,
Looking for a bumper frame case exactly like CrashGuard from RhinoShield but couldn't find one.
There are tons of bumper frames with transparent glass on back but no chance for open back frame protection.
Searching through Aliexpress and Amazon but just can't find anything similar to that.
There are couple of metal/aliminum framed cases but don't think they are protective as plastic.
Any suggestions really appreciated!
Edit: So I couldn't find a plastic bumper case and went for the aluminium cases and found Oatsbasf. It is quite thin and open back case, and it seems it is extremely durable.
Added some screen shots below. The skin is DBrand Matrix skin for P20 Pro.

I like RhinoShield Crash Guard cases as well but if you have used them it should be obvious why they don't make that type of case for the P20. If there is no bezel on the sides of the display there is no way for a Crash Guard style case to securely grip the edges of the phone without overlapping onto the display screen. Your phone isn't going to work properly if that happens because anything that requires touch control near the edges of the display will be inaccessible. RhinoShield started making regulay style cases with backs last year because the CrashGuard cases aren't compatible with edge to edge screen phones.

Yes, you are absolutely right, and this is probably the why there is no such a case for p20 pro.
Just bought the metal bumper from Oatsbasf. It seems thin enough and can display the back of the phone so I can show off the skin.
Thanks anyway for the info.

Yeah I also heard that issue about Oatsbasf, dunno if they upgraded it or not but strangely my phone works without any issue.
No low reception or gps. Quite happy with the case.
Does it need protection?

Hello, the case hasn't arrived but i'm concerned if it may scratch the back of the phone. Does the aluminum has direct contact with the glass on the back? I was thinking about getting a sticker like protector before using the case, do you think it is necessary?

There are some soft foams attached to its back accept the parts that wraps around the camera.
The good thing is they are also sending a skin within the package, so you don't need to buy one.
Dunno where you bought it tho, I bought from the official Aliexpress store and they sent that skin too.
P20 Pro's back glass is a fingerprint magnet, so you might want that skin because of this.
I bought a DBrand skin since it fits perfectly and quite durable, but it would probably work too with the one that they are sending.
