Question No Super Fast Charging option - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

The S23 Ultra is sometimes charging Super Fast 2.0 and sonetimes normal charging with official Samsung 45W charger. Also there is no option to enable Super Fast charging in battery settings. What is your experience?

If I have to guess I think it switches between normal, fast and super fast according to device temperature. High battery temperature could damage it. By the way 45w and 25w probably charges very similar on this device. Maybe 10 minutes diffirence on full charge(if I remember reviews correctly)

You are right i think ites temperature based. In car when my phone is hot, its chargeed only few percent with 60W samsung charger L5300.,

So after one ui 5, fast charging enables the super fast charging if your charger supports it. Also it will only show you super fast charging 2.0 for few seconds when you plug in your charger and the text will switch to charging but the device super charges. Hope this makes sense.

2400 mah probs

i put the battery in the cradle to let it charge when i was asleep, when i woke up the light wasnt on anymore so i took it out of the charger and put it into my device and turned it on but it didnt recognize the battery, it ran off of "BACKUP BATTERY", what is wrong with my 2400? I put it back in its cradle this morning as I am posting this to charge more I guess.
also note - i just got back from school and once again the light was off in the charger, i took out the battery put it in my phone, clipped it in on the bottom, and hit the on button, it booted up as the device would if the battery had 0% it ranoff backup battery, and when i went to power, the main battery had 0%, so obviously the issue is this battery 2400 mAh wont charge!
Update - Just found out the light shuts off and it stops charging every hour or so, so I took a picture

Have you read the manual?
Hi there,
If you battery is the 2400 from Mugen Power, Have youread the manual?
It is clearly stated that the first charge should be done with the battery atttached to you BA, not from the battery charger as this may render your battery inoperable (Battery ROM initialization).
Try and attach the battery to you BA and leave you BA on it's craddle for a night. Hope the proble is gone and it's not too late.
I did 8 years in Tech Support. Reading the manual doesn't make you an idiot ;-)
Cheers,
Hal
I have a cameron sino and it has no manual.
Dear imablackhat,
I think you need to check with the seller.
Is that u are still charging the battery with the cradle to charging? As I know it will damage your cradle if you use the cradle to charge the battery. The only solution is to charge it directly with USB.
I hope it can help!!

[Q] Does the G-Tab not charge off USB?

It doesn't look like it to me. Is this true? This would be a show-stopper for me. Thanks.
Found the answer: No.

Well that sucks.
If it's any consolation, neither does the Xoom. I think once you hit the larger tablet form factor, you can expect USB charging to go out the window.
Yeah, 5V DC at less than an amp is only supplying around 4.5 watts of charging power. You're looking at 7 hours or thereabouts to charge via USB. If it's any further consolation, the iPad can charge via USB, but only high power USB or when it is asleep. It will still take a long time. Still, it would be nice to have the option even just to keep it topped off while near the computer.

Amen!
Anyway I find the overall battery performance on the G tab pleasing!
What about something like this?
I have this:

which is powered externally via 5V DC at 3A amps. It has USB ports on the bottom and even comes with a USB-to-DC adapter for the Sony e-Reader.
Since this isn't a regular computer USB port (I guess), could this type of setup theoretically work with the GTab and, if so, is there some type of USB-to-DC cable that would work?

Battery Drain Issues

My S3 has developed a problem with the battery charge draining. When i am charging my phone, either by USB or wall charger, the battery will charge extremely slowly or go down. This is while nothing running and left overnight to charge.
Has anyone else come across this problem? My phone has become unusable because of this and must be constantly plugged in. However, even when plugged in it will turn off sometimes due to running out of juice.
I'm leaning towards thinking that the battery is the problem not the charging circuits of the phone.
Try charging it with the phone off and if that doesn't work do a hard reset. Some of the custom roms allow you to adjust the charge rate as well, have you installed any custom roms or modified any of those settings?
If none of the above work then it is most likely a hardware fault possibly battery.

I find the SGS3 to charge MUCH faster than my SGS2 ever did.

I agree, I was charging SGS2 in my car and it would go maybe 1% in 30 minutes while BT audio streaming/GPS navi was on. Where as using the same charger for my SGS3, BT/GPS on doing the same thing, in 30 minutes it went from 87%->92%
I have flashed a new rom (CM9 nightly) and removed the kernel i had on in case it was that. Tried to charge it overnight and this was the result:

I bought another S3 for my friend at the same time and he has observed similar problems. It seems to charge partially when in the wall socket but into a PC is useless even with everything off.
I might have to get a new battery and try it out.

Okay I have to admit that isn't worth the money.
Which one did you get though???
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app
something like the first one.
but i really wonder WHY it does that!
I mean... i used the original Sony Wallcharger! 1.5A and just pluged it (with the sony cable) in the back of the charger!
Then the phone wen't out of battery and died... restartet after 5 minutes, and then i booted into the OS.
Thats the only reason i can imagine why it would charge so slowy. i mean.. i used exact that same wall charger via microUSB and it worked fast and fine!
i mean, how the hell would they limit the Ampere flowing trough the dock ? some included resistors?
If i have to much time i'll try and open it. but i could swear the cheapest way would be a simple (two...) from the microUSB port to the magnets. And this is chinaware! gotta be the cheapest way!

Question Addtional/Replacement fast charger

Do I have to use a branded Asus charger to get the fast charge? I'm using an old Huawei one and I don't seem to get the faster charging as I did on my P30 Pro.
Looking to purchase a 2nd, smaller charger if there is a compatible one?
I guess any QC3 or PD charger should work.
Will this give me the fast charge I'm after?
PD3.0 PPS or QC 4.0 will according to Specification.
A friend of mine with ZF9 tells me that even with original Asus charger and cable it appears the "Hypercharge" text on the phone, but the real charging speed is slow; anyone else with the same issue? Thanks!
most battery management will only charge fast when the battery is almost fully drained, generally following this curve. You'll see like 5W or something when closer to 90% battery, even on silly charging protocols like SuperVOOC. https://www.androidauthority.com/fast-charging-explained-2-889780/

I know this, is not the first phone with fast charge that I see, and my friend too is not so noob.
So, the problem appears on his phone even with battery on very low percentage.
