I need a way to remotely lock a device like all the anti theft software allows but it needs to be triggered over WiFi, does anyone know of such a thing?
I am allowing my a kid to use a old phone with no SIM card in it. But when he is bad I need a way to take him offline. I used to block the MAC address on my router but a neighbor has started having open WiFi so I can't block him anymore.
I still need this.
im trying to build a massive multiplayer game. and was trying to find out what i could use on a android based phone for a account lock for vip "paid members" was going to use a mac address but they can be spoofed. is there any other perminate thing for the phone to lock it to that phone or a fix so that the mac address cannot be spoofed
I'm setting up WPA-Enterprise authentication for my company's wireless network, and I've hit an annoying snag: Android will happily connect to any access point with the company's SSID, and send its login credentials, regardless of whether the server's certificate is valid or not. I'm using FreeRADIUS and PEAP with MS-CHAPv2, for those who know what that means.
Basically, any nasty person could rock up outside our front door with their own Wi-Fi access point, RADIUS server, andf self-signed certificate. They could then just sit there and collect password hashes* as the phones inside the building try to authenticate against the attacking system.
Is there any way of making these devices actually verify the certificates they see?
*Not technically correct I know, but still crackable.

I'm looking for some information from someone who uses Motorola devices with MAAS360 MDM software.
I have a Nexus6 and the MAAS360 policy requires that I use a pin or password to unlock my device.
I vastly prefer a pattern unlock to PIN but MAAS won't allow me to use pattern.
I contacted the MAAS administrator in my organization and they said that it is just the way that MAAS treats Motorola devices differently and there is nothing that our organization can do about it.
I think that is not the whole truth and I'm wondering if anyone who uses MAAS360 on a Motorola device would be able to confirm that they can use a pattern unlock.
It doesn't make any sense to me why every other phone in the organization can use pattern but motorola can only use pin and password.
Can anyone give me some info on if this is true or not?
