Question Custom ROMs for A52s 5G - Samsung Galaxy A52 5G

Hey, I'm trying to get a custom OS in my phone (A52s 5G) which actually gives me a way better battery life than OneUI, since I can't even get 24h of battery even after optimizations.
Does anyone know any OS (preferably A13) which is similar to Pixel Experience while giving me a 10/10 battery life?
Also I'd rather not lose 5G, if possible.. I don't really care about VoLTE since my provider doesn't offer it yet anyway
Thanks in advance

Hello.
Firstly, This is the wrong fourm. This is for the A52 5G while your question if for the A52s 5G. Here is a link to that fourm: https://forum.xda-developers.com/f/samsung-galaxy-a52s-5g.12587/
As far as I know, The devs are developing Lineage OS for the A52s and when that comes out, you can expect other roms like Evolution X and Pixelexperience to arrive for this phone. It takes a lot of time to make roms and on top of that the devs have to perfect it so that it does not cause any problems. Thank you for understanding.

Hey, thank you and sorry, searched for a52s 5G but nothing popped up so I assumed this was a general one, and thank you again, didn't knew it was on dev & thought that it was just a "lost & unknown" device

Is there any benefit form leaving the x829 to the indian/Chinese Rom?

Hi,
Is it worth it, or it's just for the bloatware and something like that? And the indian Rom is encrypted? What that really means in practical terms?
Thank you.
I found many disadvantages :-battery and annoying chinese notification and the store

Thanks. Performance is the same so?
All official Max2 ROMs are terribly outdated and contain tons of security vulnerabilities.
This phablet is anandonware in regards to official support. If you want to be on a safe side you must use LineageOS or ResurrectionRemix. However both contain serious bugs and certain features from the official ROMs are missing. RR is much better though. LOS is laggy and buggy as hell.
Exchanged me le max 2 for one plus 2..
Till now.. All i miss is the fast charging
Great new Official Build for Le Max 2
Hey everyone,
I read the questions regarding Indian and Chinese Builds, I bought the x829 version to find out it was never officially released by LeEco in the US so... next topic flashing ROMs...
I got the phone with "International Version" x.16 and found also that chinese version was almost in version 21 and indian in 19.
Because of some/many comments in chinese build with messages and other stuff in chinese I though on installing the indian rom.
Before that I tryed the ROM that came with the phone and it wasn't bad but made the phone a bit slow...
After installing the indian ROM found out that it had encrypted several mount points in the phone, tryed restoring it with no encryption but failed. The good thing, odd also, is that after some retries in TWRP to enter recovery, after some reboots, it goes right in the menu like if no encryption was detected.
Liked some features in the indian rom, one of the things was the unlocking of the phone, if you swipe from the right then the numbers would be closer to the side, center and left behavior the same.
One other thing that I miss and keep looking for a possibility is the disabling of the home and front buttons, in the Official LeEco Builds this is a possibility by pressing one volume and power button if I'm not mistaken, but in game this makes a huge difference, sorry everyone I use this phone for gaming it is massive! I keep pressing by mistake the buttons and exiting the games, would love to see this feature in the new XDA Build for X2 (Le Max 2)
Original build had an Antutu of 120k, but didnt feel like it. Indian ROM had only 80k... now I see Chinese version in x.23 don't know how it is but was curious.
What do I have on my Le Max 2? the new Official XDA 7.1.2 build. Much better than the last marshmallow version probably because of the Nougat Android but although both had an Antutu between 150-155k this newer version is indeed faster in games and apps, no hanging of any kind. Probably needs some tuning but as for now it has been GREAT! Tnx for that!
If you want a build that probably gives more sense to the phone itself, try the Chinese ROM, if you want something lighter and more functional, try this new Nougat XDA Build
Ohhh fingerprint sensor stopped working after first installation who cares...??!!
Regards,
Pedro.

Any Mate 10 Pro users try any of the Project Treble roms?

This rom comes with the stock camera. Has anyone tried it yet? How is battery life and stablility?
The video seems down.
Do you have a link for this ROM ?
I'm running the LineageOS 15.1 ROM which is slick af, but video recording doesn't work in any of the ROMs I've tried (LOS, Phh-Treble 8.0/8.1, OpenKirin for Honor 10 View 8.0/8.1). Still images are good and with some effort I got the phh treble Huawei camera to work for still images at least. Battery is slightly worse but still more than good enough
Any viable for daily driver?

I’m considering buying this phone with the sole intention of putting a stock/close to stock ROM on it. Would you consider any of the ROMs you’ve tried good enough for a permenant daily driver?
Be harsh in your judgement, I’m happy to do a bit of fiddling to get stuff set up but I’m not an enthusiast at this any more.

This may be an incomplete answer, but I bought mine two days ago with the same idea in mind and may be able to give you my results.
In short : EMUI is a joke, it is unimaginable for me that people can like this as the software feels cluttered and uninspired.
From the AOSP point of things : except for the camera, the basic stuff works great once you got how to flash these things (little advice, don't flash TWRP, as stock recovery is hard to get in case you want to get back to stock).
But things seem to change quite rapidly, so maybe everything could be easy and fixed by next week

LineageOS 15.1. It's decent in all aspects except video, runs smooth without any snags and works as a daily driver. If you use 2 sims and a lock screen you gotta disable pin for sim 2. Auto brightness works but is overly aggressive. Getting the ROM loaded was super smooth, some simple ADB commands and a factory reset and it's good to go.
I'm pretty happy with it as the honeymoon period of stock EMUI has ended and the super aggressive RAM management that kills timers and countdowns is the worst waste of 6GB RAM I've ever seen.
You might wanna check out Nokia 7 Plus though
I really like the either the lineage or stock aosp roms. The camera is indeed way worse, which kind of sucks, have not tried adding the stock huawei camera app. I also have this issue where my wifi hotspot, bluetooth hotspot or usb tethering all are not working But think I am one of the few with these issues, or are there more people with this problem?
Thanks for the responses guys. As Perpels suggests, the other phone I'm looking at is the Nokia 7 Plus, so I guess I'll just be keeping an eye on M10P ROM progress until N7+ full reviews start showing.
At the moment it looks like Lower spec processor/headphone jack/Android One vs High spec processor/AMOLED/ ROM headaches.
Urgh.
Hey folks, I just made a little guide to make all this a bit easier. Feel free to give it a look !

MIUI GSI

Hey guys, I found this
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/gsi/MIUI/
Do you think this images could work on our device?
Why did you get a mi a3 if you wanted miui? Redmi note 7 or mi 9cc have miui.
And why would you actually want memeui on your device in the first place.
Better to stick with something with little bloat

Because of the features, I know some people who prefer MIUI over stock because of some of the features that it provide. There are people who likes the MIUI look than the stock look. I know people who really adore the so called "bloatware". Also MIUI used to provide better battery life than stock android back in the day, but I don't know how's that situation right now.
That should explain your "Why?" concern

And so ..... Will it work or not? Because your answer does not solve the question at all. I'm glad you're happy with Android stock, but there are other people who want to try MIUI (by the way, calling it MEMEUI wasn't funny the first time, so you can end calling it that way) so just let other people do whatever they want without judging them..
Stock android is really boring compared to miui. I always root so adverts are not a problem. Miui has matured into a very good rom, which useful features & battery life. I wanted to give android one a try, but so far not impressed. I am sure its the same way many others feel too. You can move from miui to aosp (treble) but cant move from Android One to Miui, which makes me admit that Miui phone is even a superior choice.

New to Huawei P20 Lite (Anne) phone, not to flashing ROMs and/or rooting. Need advice.

Hi all! Hope I'm posting in the correct section...
I recently acquired a Huawei P20 Lite, coming from a Moto G 4G (Peregrine), so I'm not new to flashing custom ROMs. After reading a lot of threads from different projects; AOSP Phh Treble, Pixel Experience, Pixel Experience Plus and Phenix kernel caught my eye.
From what I've read any one of those ROMs and the kernel are stable enough to be used as a daily driver, and Android 11 is mature enough, hence I'm not too concerned about bugs; though I'm aware there might be a problem with Phenix kernel and my current EMUI version, 9.1.0.355(C605E4R1P3).
My main concerns are performance, of course, and battery life, which is why I'd like to ask for your advice on an easy way to benchmark those different ROMs on my phone. The reason being that I spend a lot of time on the go and don't have too much time to flash a new ROM to test, I need something that lets me test and benchmark battery and performance in a few minutes so I can spend a couple of hours, at most, flashing ROMs.
I'd also appreciate any opinion from someone who have tested the aforementioned projects. I'm aware there are different models and they don't always behave exactly the same. For that matter, my phone specs are:
Device: Huawei P20 Lite
Model: ANE-LX3
Build number: 9.1.0.355(C605E4R1P3)
Hardware version: HL3ANNEM
Custom version: CUSTC605D1
Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi!
Just a few factual notes:
In fact, it's not Android 11, only system image based on A 11 .
All GSI Treble ROMs that are compatible with P20 are AOSP based on 'phhusson' sources, so the difference in performance, battery life, etc. is minimal.
All GSI ROMs have some common bugs - signal level indicator, offline charging, VoLTE, native callrecording. If you like to take pictures, you will be disappointed with the GSI camera...
Sadly the availability of Custom ROMs for Kirin devices is limited.
The basic requirement is, of course, an unlocked bootloader.

@alf Thanks for the reply and the clarifications.
I've already unlocked the bootloader using PotatoNV, was just curious about the existence of a tool to benchmark performance as well as battery, guess such a tool doesn't exist yet... asking for too much...
The bugs you mentioned are not really an issue for me, no problem there; GSI camera can be easily replaced by another app and taking photos is not the primary use I give to a communication device, so no problem either.
And yes, sadly Huawei became kind of a pariah in the tech industry and development stopped.
And since they are all very similar, what is your favourite feature wise? as this would apparently be the deciding factor. And, based on my specs, do you think there would be a problem flashing Phenix kernel after flashing any of this ROMs? or should I downgrade first to be on the safe side?

I'm not sure I fully understand your question...
Personally, I would give most points to the PixelExperience Plus.
As for Phenix, I have little experience with it.

@alf Meant which one you preferred in terms of features (more and/or better). I see your personal favorite is Pixel Experience Plus. Gonna go with that and if I find something weird, I know where to ask.
Thank you again!

Whats the best custom ROM by now?

Hello
I just changed the battery of this fabulous smartphone which I've been using for several years.
It recently started to give problems and I was charging it several times a day so I decided to change my phone for a newer one and after that I bought the battery to change it to the Xiaomi and to give it a second life using it as replacement phone.
I've been using the whole time the provided official global ROM, but now that it was left behind without updates, I was wondering what is the most advisable custom ROM in terms of stability, battery consumption and newest android version. I know this might be a very wide question. However I have no experience in the world of custom ROMs, although I guess I can manage to install one to the give the phone a newer oportunity.
Any advice? Thank you in advance.

I can tell Im around custom ROMs for a very long time. My all time favourite is crDroid because it's in the market since ages and has very solid name. Very solid performance as well. Lot of customizations but smooth at the same time. If you don't care about customizations, other good option is LineageOS (mother of all custom ROMs actually, and crDroid is based on it too).
What Id like to stress out - you have even Android 12 available, but it lags like hell on mido aka Redmi Note 4. Better option for this old device is Android 11, and best one in my opinion - Android 10. True, you won't get updates anymore, but you have fully operational, smooth as silk performance. I've been switching between versions so Im speaking from experience.
Feel free to ask for any other details.

If I want to try android 12L which one do you recommend the smoothest experience for better daily use (no gaming), I mean for social media, browsing, watching youtube, etc. Hope for battery life too.
For a long time, I've used Havoc OS (v4.16 Android 11 now) + Fussion Kernel.
Thanks

Probably LineageOs since it's most lightweight. But I've tried it some time ago too and it was lagging as well. Maybe something changed since then, but honestly I think that mido just can't handle A12 well

Hello, thank you for your experienced opinion.
I don't think I need a very customizable ROM so it seems LineageOS might seem the best option. And following your advice, android 10 could be enough for the device since I prefer it to be lightweighted.
