Hi,
I'm looking case with magsafe so i can attach finger ring. I never ever have any case on my phones so i'm completely beginner in this case world... Thing is that 23u is little to big to comfortable hold it in one hand for me... So i'm looking case with magsafe but as thin as possible. I was found some silicone with this feature but mostly non brand or brands that i never heard before so do not know if i will waste my money. Any one maybe use one and can help?

What about pitaka? Is it good quality? Or Mous https://www.mous.co/products/clarity-2-0-magsafe-compatible-clear-phone-case?variant=39833784549434

Pitaka looks ok
Pitaka is sub 1mm thick. Almost really cosmetic case more than protection but it does offer a small amount of screen protection (0.5mm lip) but it is magsafe ringed
This one is thin

You also have another option: attach ESR haloring to your favorite case.
This will give you the strongest magnetic connection I've tested so far and on your case of choice!
I was leaning towards a Pitaka case, but changed my mind at the last minute....partially due to price, shipping time, poor screen protection, unavailability of some Pitaka accessories, etc. I decided to get the Torras magsafe case on Amazon, thinking I might still get the Pitaka down the road. Well turns out I love the Torras case and planning on sticking with it. Got a handful of cheap magsafe accessories from Amazon (wallet, ring, car mount/charger, wireless battery pack) and they all work great.

Never. For maximum protection the backs I choose are always hard, not rubber, silicone, leather.
Not that I know of.
Keep in mind, on the S23U, most magsafe solutions mess with the s-pen.
Peak Designs expects to have their redesigned cases in April that will avoid the issue.

Really depends on the brand and how powerful of magnets they use, in fact, in my experience, I would say most don't mess with the s-pen. I have several now that don't bother my s-pen at all, including the Anker 633 powerbank while charging. Meanwhile, most ESR accessories do affect the s-pen. Just do your research before buying, or purchase from Amazon where they have a good return policy and shop via trial and error.
I had the Magbak for the s22 ultra and it was my favorite. Not too thick but full protection, unlike the Pikata type cases. The magnets were so strong I could put it on a vertical metal surface and it will stay. It just won't be out until the end of March if you can wait.

This case magsafe compatible very nice case little pricy but premium phone deserves a premium case
Paying $50+ for a frickin case seems a bit over the top to me, but I have to remind myself my S23 Ultra was a $1,300 (retail) phone. I bought and returned 15, yep count 'em, 15 cases for the S23 Ultra. I've always gone for the thinnest with decent protection on all my phones. None of this ugly "military grade" BS. This phone is a BRICK without a case!
The best case I found for the money was the Frontology Carbo fiber. It's as thin as the Pitaka but covers the buttons and sides of the screen glass WAY better. The carbon finish looks a little nicer on the Pitaka but more noticeable on the Frontology (if you want to be more flashy.) But the Frontology isn't MagSafe which I didn't need anyway so it was a no brainer at $11.95 versus $64.95. So I returned the Pitaka.
https://www.amazon.com/Ftonglogy-Samsung-Galaxy-Ultra-Case/dp/B0BNPB8ST3
But then I found this new phone is so heavy it slides around on the magnet that it lays flat on in the center console of my car. Where my Note 20 Ultra didn't mainly because the phone is a little heavier and the carbon surface is more slippery than my Note20 Ultra case was. There is enough metal in the S23 to get some pull from the magnet but not enough to keep it from sliding going around corners faster than normal.
I didn't want a visible ring on the outside of my case. Sort of pointless to get a really nice looking case in my opinion only to ruin it with a big Magsafe ring.
So searched and searched and besides the overpriced Mous and Pitaka, the only other option in a MagSafe case that doesn't show the ring is the Nilkin. The Nilkin is a hard case with a soft to touch matte finish with texture that is less ostentatious than carbon fiber and it's virtually impossible to get fingerprints on. The Magsafe magnets are in the case so you can't see them like the Pitaka and Mous. The compromise you have to make to get a case with embedded Magsafe at 1/3 the price of the Pitaka and Mous is that it's thicker. If you are used to the eggshell thin Pitaka or the like, this case will feel significantly thicker but actually the thickness is average if not slightly thinner than the average case. It offers WAY better protection than the Pitaka which one could argue, on a $1,300 phone, you probably don't want to skimp on protection but don't go overboard and buy the Hummer of cases for the paranoid.
So the Nilkin hit the sweet spot: good protection without being overly bulky, good value and 1/3 the price of the Pitaka, compatible with curved glass screen protector, and embedded/hidden Magsafe magnets so no ugly ring on the outside of the case.
https://www.amazon.com/Nillkin-Magsafe-Frosted-Magnetic-Shockproof/dp/B0BQQD2QTC
Coincidentally I dropped my phone off a bar counter onto a hard surface after I got this case. It was unfazed. The material although a hard case, seems very grippy and scratch/fingerprint resistant. But it you really want an "eggshell" partial case like the Pitaka, this definitely isn't the one for you.
I paied 16 euro in this mag case that is very light with a good feeling to touch but I've some doubt on protection:

Hello all...
I have never posted anything related to accessories, but after buying over 20 different cases for my E3d, this was by far my favorite and only $2.99 plus shipping.
No kick stand, but light, clean, clear, perfect, and the best of all... WILL NOT MAKE YOUR PHONE TOO TICK OR BULKY!
To me, it was the best one I found... AMAZING!!! I fell in love with my phone all over again...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004XYHVPQ
All the best to you all!
Seems pointless with the bottom edge left unprotected.
I prefer the traditional TPU cases, not bulky or thick to me and best of all, they provide complete edge protection.
Like it but it seems like you might as well go naked. Not very much protection on there. Probably gives a nice grip though sense it's rubberized.
I have that case too and agree with you OP. It's great for all I'm looking for in a case (mainly just protecting the camera). I have a tpu case as well, but this one makes the phone seem much thinner. I'm sure it won't do much for drops, but I don't make it a habit to drop my phone on hard surfaces .
Best case so far?
That is completely subjective and based upon each individual's needs.
I for one found that the best case for my needs was an inexpensive hard plastic case that has a carbon fiber look it doesn't offer much protection if I drop it because it doesn't have any silicone lining...but it serves my purpose - that of being able to fit in the iGrip car dock. I also have a Otterbox Commuter case which offers much more protection. It just isn't the best case for my needs.
I ordered the transparent grey version. Looks a lot like the Case-Mate barely there case but about a quarter of the price. Works for me as this and the case-mate offer the same protection either way.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004XYHVCY
I was definitely intrigued by that case when I was shopping for one, but I prefer to have complete edge protection. I went with TPU and am extremely happy with it.

I'm always curious as to which would offer more drop protection, a TPU case or a Seidio Surface case. One's hard plastic the other is TPU but they both cover all the edges. Would either material handle a drop better?
Here's the Surface case.

Interesting. Is the rubber it self actually thinner than the TPU cases? Adding that little strip of protection across the top and bottom doesnt seem like it adds much bulk.

Corners are well protected. I just don't see how I can damage the botton and top. Main reason I use a cover is to protect agains falls, glass breakage, and such. The only way I an scretch the botton and top is if I atually let something like my keys scratch it... but I never put it together...
So I have VERY good protection without adding more than a very few millimeters on the size... By the way, it protects the camera very well.
While I had my evo, my case was similar (not top or bottom) but much, much thicker... and I had NOT ONE scratch on the phone... what I mean is, I really like the no top / bottom, but its all personal opinion. If you don't mind it, this is the case to go!

The TPU (I got one with the diamonds inside) was my favorite and the one I was using before the I mentioned above, definately a great choice too!
I got something similar from a website that ships from Singapore. There are 2 types one is half the price as the case mate barely there, other is less than $3.
$3 version (not see thru like the OP version)
http://www.obostore.com/hard-plastic-case-skin-faceplate-for-htc-evo-3d-p-1404.html
$14 version - I think slightly better finish than the $3 version and the one I am using.... I bought both.
http://www.obostore.com/rock-ultra-thin-nakedshell-faceplate-for-htc-evo-3d-p-1102.html
However, it will take almost 2 weeks to get.
i snagged this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400229635377
it is nice.. protects the cameras also!
Paid 22 shipped on ebay. It consists of a silicon case with a plastic shell that clamps over and covers the back.
*Pictures where I get home at 5 PM*
The fit is nice. The plastic shell clamps on tight enough that the silicone is all held very tightly in place. No wiggling around like standard silicone cases. The cutouts are all in the right locations for my ATT model. The buttons work well and seem fairly sturdy. Have to see how they hold up over time. Have not and do not plan to purposefully drop my phone but it seems as if the protection would be decent. It has thick rubber bumpers at all four corners. There is also a lip all the way around the face side that would protect the screen from hitting a flat surface. The only downside is it does increase the weight of the phone, some of its stock impact resistance is from its very light weight. My "opinion" is that the phone would be protected from impact but be subjected to higher Gs. Probably a net positive since in stock form landing on a corner would be bad.
As far as aesthetics and feel: The phone is quite a bit larger. I would say it roughly doubles the phones thickness and probably twice as heavy.

I had that case, (bought it at AT&T when I got the phone) in the end it was too thick, I kept taking it off because it wouldn't fit in my pockets comfortably. In the end, I went with the Case-Mate Pop. Similar protection, yet doesn't have the bumpers. In my opinion, the bumpers made the case way too big.

I just got my Ballistic SG for the SGS2 yesterday (Black/Blue)... good price ($20.20 shipped eBay... and now I see it for $18.99 shipped). You're either going to love this case or hate it, depending on your phone use/ protection objectives. Pros: fit is exceptional, covered buttons actually have a better feel than bare.. very responsive, easy to press. The soft inner shell fits tight once the outer hard shell is put on... so edges are nicely raised over the screen (and camera) with no annoying flappy play (like some TPU cases). If your primary objective is protection, this is the case for you. With the slightly oversized bumper corners, seems like you could bounce this phone off the concert and it would rebound back up without incident. Also, the noise-cancellation mic (top of phone next to jack) is not covered as the case has a perfect cutout for mic and jack. Cons: as OP states, it does add size and weight. Size to me is actually a bonus as I used to have an Infuse and this GS2 seemed small in my hand... now with case, size it perfect. Weight addition is noticeable; but I suspect over a few days use, it will become a non-issue.
Added pics
Love this case but..... Great protection, looks good, no covered holes, buttons easy to push. The thing that is driving me bonkers isn't the additional size this case packs on, it's the type of rubber used for the wrap. It's a 'sticky' rubber and pulls my pocket out with it on all my pants. Wish it were a more smooth, slicker rubber that would slide out of my pants better (Thats what she said, right?)
I have had it since day one, love it, a few good drops, the kids.....phone still looks like it is brand new, and the case has a life time warranty. I'm happy

I have the black/blue one. I just love it. It fits awesome, no flimsy corners or so.
My case of choice for my past 2 devices. Dropped the phone a few times and the bumpers bounced it back up. Still looking good as new. Does add some extra weight but it to me it makes the phone feel much better in my hands.
i like this case..but........rather get a otterbox for 5 bucks more
Picked it up the att store, returned it no less than 20 minutes. They Guy gave some some crazy eyes doing it. Picked up the case mate pop black case. Overall happy so far, gonna use this until I decide what to do. May get the commuter still. If the SG did not have those stupid bumpers I would have kept it.

I actually bought the commuter case on Amazon for 23 bucks free shipping. The commuter covers more of the front screen than the pop case mate. I paid 38 Buck for this case at att so cheaper pricing is better. Otterbox will also send replacement silicon wraps if you complain about looseness or case seating problems. Different strokes for different folks I always say. No screen protector though, gorilla glass has never scratched on me.

I received the Seidio Suface case with holster this morning and have put it through enough torture to come up with some initial impressions. The case fits the phone tightly which feels nice and secure, and the cutouts on the sides are all placed perfectly. The case has a soft-touch coating that feels really nice, but can make the phone somewhat slippery. I am cursed with oily skin and that shows up pretty easily on the case.
Here's what I'm liking:
- Overall fit and cutout placement are spot on. The cutout for the headphones leaves enough room for somewhat over sized cables. The cutout for the S Pen does not make the S Pen more difficult to remove.
- Kickstand works well. It is held in place by a magnet, but the magnet is not strong enough to cause interference with the S Pen.
- The case also does not interfere with NFC
- The holser is well made, and it has fabric to protect the screen of the phone when it is holstered. (velvet maybe?)
Here's what I am not liking:
- The case absorbs the oil from my hands and looks greasy after a few minutes use. (This of course can be wiped off)
- The holster is not reversible like I was hoping it was. The phone can only be inserted with the face covered by the holster.
Other than that, there isn't a whole lot to say. It is a decent case that looks like it will do its job fairly well. Here are some pictures:

Does the holster have the lower lip on the clip to keep it from sliding off the belt, like the old G1 holster?

I had this case for the Note 2. I was able to recommend it to a friend. Very good case. Especially if you're an active user. The holster rotates and the spring is very strong. Survived 1 or 2 drops on concrete. Easy to take off to pull/replace battery or SD/SIM card. So where's a purchase link?

I'm 6'2, 245lbs so maybe my pockets are a little bigger than some, but the case does not make it harder at all to take out of your pocket. I have not dropped the phone, but I can say that it is a hard case without any extra "cushion" that some of the 2-3 piece cases have. One thing that is nice is that when you lay the phone down on its face, it is not resting on the display. The kickstand definitely comes in handy with this phone because the screen is great for movies and games.

I'm currently using the Spigen thin fit case and I love it, looks awesome as its not thick like most cases.
this is my option :
- SPIGEN Rugged Armor Samsung Galaxy S7 – BLACK
- RINGKE Slim SAMSUNG Galaxy S7
- SHUMURI Slim 0.35mm Samsung Galaxy S7
- VERUS Single Fit Samsung Galaxy S7
I've literally tried almost every big name brand at this point. And I love the Ringke SLIM Case
I have the Spigen Slim Fit and was happy with it until I found the Nillkin frosted.
http://www.nillkin-case.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=4469
I now have both and only ever use the Nillkin. They're very similar but the Nillkin is very slightly thinner whilst offering great protection and also has slightly less plastic covering the phone, which I like. It also has better grip as the back is textured (nurled) and Spigen is mat-ish finish. The coating on the Spigen has also started to chip/wear after only a short time, which is disappointing. The Nillkin doesn't have any coating as it's through-coloured and the texturing is moulded in so no wear issues at all. The final decider was that the Nillkin obscures less of the screen (by about 1mm each side) than the Spigen and the lip at the front is also lower, making swiping in from either side easier. The Nillkin also works perfectly with the Ultimate Shield Tempered Glass protector as there's around 1/2mm clearance between the protector and edge of case.
One last thing is that the plastic it's made from isn't totally rigid but it is hard-ish. It does have some elasticity, which can only be a good thing. You can twist the case very slightly with gentle force and this flexibility must surely give greater bump protection than the rigid plastic cases which just shatter in impact. It also allows wireless charging as well without any issue.
The Nillkin is the best case I've ever had and perfect balance of protection, coverage and grip and for the money its' unbeatable. I'll be buying these from now on for all my phones.
really like the calicase is extremely minimal...

For me that's a positive. I wanted a minimal case but which will still give good protection. If you want ultra protection you need a rugged case. The likelihood of dropping the phone cleanly on one of the ends (perpendicular impact) is almost zero. With this case the back and corners are (almost) fully covered and AFAIAC that's enough. The Spigen Ultra Slim that you said you liked in the OP gives the same level of protection to the ends but possibly 1-2mm more corner protection but they're still not fully covered. TBH I don't see why either company couldn't cover the ends and corners fully (with a small slit on the corners to allow for fitting), would seem logical.
You can try Ringke's Ultra Thin case. It covers all sides of the phone. Very lightweight and and thin.

Not sure if this classifies as "slim" for most people, but I came from an LG G3 with the Zerolemon battery so anything is slim. Wireless charging, Samsung pay, all work with this case.
I chose a little more "bump" for my buck with the Symmetry case, but I've since dropped it several times and had no adverse effects.
I have Ringke Air Smoke and it's very cool for me!
I'm very pleased with this case: MSVII
Only around $3.25

took some time for delivery cuz it ships from China, but great case. I'm also attaching pics.
Fits perfectly and very slim
I just got my s8 around 3 weeks ago and I'm currently using the thin fit case from spigen in black colour and I'm loving the grippy surface. however after around 2 weeks the rubber started peeling off in flakes and it's really annoying as i keep getting the flakes on my hand and in my pocket. Is this just my case or does this happen to all of the thin fit cases out there. and are there any other cases that feel almost exactly the same as this case? (slimness and the cutouts at the volume rocker and the power button)
here's how mine looks currently

I've been using this one for the past week.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XRW9K28/
hey thanks for suggesting, however, i really prefer the cutouts for the buttons as i like to feel the buttons click when i press them and that case does not have cutouts. thanks for replying tho!
Wow that picture is crazy. I've had the thin fit for many phones, never had that happen. There's only one logical explanation.

Either that, or you literally sweat battery acid from your palms. Amazing.
That's just being careless. Amazing how you can ruin a case in 3 weeks. It's full of scratches and holes.
RINGKE Slim. I got it when I had the S8+. I like this version better as it covers all four sides of the phone. Unfortunately I order for s8+ and got regular s8 case instead. Returned case for refund, eventually got rid of s8+ too. (I can never stick with one device for too long)
a little pricey but it goes on sale sometimes. meets a lot of your requirements. not sure how sticky the case is compared to the thin fit. my thin fit is almost too sticky

The holes are for the power, volume, and Bixby buttons, and for the camera/fingerprint scanner module.
I have one that is very similar to Spigen Thin Fit.
Actually, is even better on the texture (doesn't catch dirt) and even thinner.
I did had the same problems as you on the Spigen, the coating started to peel off on less than a month of use.

I am using the Spigen Thin fit and my finish on the phone is still very good. I used the same case on the 5x without having that happen. Had to be something you cleaned it with or just defective. However i ordered a carbon fiber case similar to it, real carbon fiber from Amazon. Can't wait.
Obviously way more expensive but based on the reviews i say worth it.
Try Galaxy S8 Case, VANSIN 3 In 1 Ultra Thin $9.99 /w 4.5 stars on 62 reviews. Also rubberized matte like Spigen Thin Fit.
I have the same problem. Not to the same extend, but it's certainly fading.
For now I live with it. Doesn't look to nice but still does it's job. And no, it's neither being careless nor acidic sweat. My phone sits in a desk all day or is in my pocket alone. From my guitar experience I can tell you for sure I don't have sweat that's any kind of wearing on materials. The quality of this cases finish is just sub par...

It has the same touch/coating as the Thin Fit, and it can become the same as in the opening post.
Mine started to peel like this, after once I've held it in my hand, while there were some sunscreen on my hand.

If you still haven't found a case, this is the one I'm using on my S8+, it's also screen protector friendly
Anccer Galaxy S8+ case
That's the case I'm using. Don't mind the price, it's actually a nice case. You also really feel the buttons click.

Try peel case. Extremely thin. Go youtube for videos.

My Spigen Slim Fit is doing the exact same thing after 2 months. I no longer see the slim fit on Spigen's site anymore, mby they know something is wrong with those cases. I have always used Spigen, but this is a total let down. That carbon fiber case looks great!

Curious how that gold plating holds up after use, or a small drop. If you purchased it can you give feedback or show actual pics of the case?
Thanks for recommendations
wish i saw this thread before i ordered the exact same case as the OP
mine's only a week old so far, so obviously no problems. but i'm familiar with this coating and i know it won't last (lots of computer mouse use this kind of coating)
