Question Esim option hidden - Google Pixel 6

Hi,
I am currently using a Pixel 6 and I am trying to change to Esim, my provider gives the option for Esim and has provided me the QR code.
I go through the complete process, the phone is able to download and install the Esim and provides me with the message that I need to go to settings and enable it, however when I go over to the settings screen all that I am shown is just the regular settings screen as if I hadn't added anything at all, if I try to add it a second time it tells me that the sim is already on the device, this used to be a Verizon phone and based on the threads it looks like they are ass*** and block services and features on purpose to make more difficult the change to a different provider.
My guess is that the Esim is added and is there but the option to turn it on is hidden somewhere, is there a way to turn the Esim on through adb or to make visible a hidden menu ?

I mean that list is only for purchases that you can buy directly from google within those countries, for the features as long as the provider works with the same frequencies, it should basically work the phone works with a regular sim, it is specifically with esim that the menu is either hidden or deactivated.

To provide additional information I found:
Looking for additional information I found that by running the command
dumpsys isub
from within a shell it would list the sim profiles I decided to run the command while having a physical sim card and after removing it the first outcome was this:
{

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
and after removing it was this:
So effectively the profile is there for the esim just not activated, while looking at the docs for android https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/connectivity/telecom/telephony-ids the sims should be listed as 0 and 1 for the physical slots, sim and esim regardless on how many logicals there are, however when the physical gets removed it should go to esim or slot index 1 but instead it goes to -1.
Additionally in one of their forums Verizon said that they did disable the esim on purpose so it looks like it is remnants of their previous ways (apparently they don´t do it anymore) if anyone knows how to switch through ADB it would be a great help, I get some Java codes but I am not sure how to run them
Adding additional information I managed to look at the logs of the system with the Android Suite and the logs indicate that system is not able to see Sim 1 or Sim 2 due to no permissions, I know that Sim 0 is the one on the physical tray so my guess Sim 1 is the Esim and Sim 2 possible a logical one

ONLY Issues no fun :(

Hi
I have purchased Nokia Lumia 800 and had set it up with my Live ID ( Country India). My Zune account also has country set to India.
I am on windows 8 and my country on windows 8 PC is also set to India. From the info i got from internet, i see that one can change country on windows OS on PC and also the country attached with Live account but not with Zune account.
Now I have 2 problems.
1. If everything is set to India i don't see "Marketplace" option in Zune.I also cant see the SIGN IN option on right top.
However if i change country on my Windows PC to US then i can see "Marketplace" option in Zune.
2. So forcefully i have to set country on my PC to US and when now i try sign in to Zune i get error message as shown below.
The location settings for your windows live ID doesn't match the settings for your computer. Why SO ???
what i am supposed to do now ? How do i purchase apps if i want to ???

BUMP !!! please help friends !!!!
Firstly, this is a general Windows Phone issue, not a Lumia issue, you would get more response in the WP forum.
Secondly, as to your issue:
Microsoft enforces regional policies, so that apps/music/videos are available only to those users in Markets where they have the rights to sell them. USA/UK etc have everything, Singapore (where I am) has apps, but nothing the way of music.
Sounds like India is like Singapore so far.
You are getting the error because the country you used to sign up for your LIVE ID account does not match your location on your computer - the obvious solution is to sign up for another LIVE ID account, using USA as your country. (If the country is auto-detected then you will likely have to VPN into the USA to fool the LIVE ID sign-up process to thinking you are actually in the USA. Try a free VPN service like Expat Shield).
So, assume you have signed up for a new LIVE ID, then you have to hard reset your phone, and use your new ID when you start your phone. Of course, you will lose any xbox achievements, contacts, emails etc... although for contacts and emails you can add your other LIVE ID as 2nd/3rd accounts.
Finally, once you have your LIVE ID and PC both set to USA, you will probably get the USA marketplace.
However, without a US credit card registered to a US address, you probably still won't be able to purchase anything.
thanks for your response..so even after going through this entire process if i am not able to purchase apps then what is the point in doing this ?
Looks like there is no solution for this and this is why Google is best :|
So now that i have developer unlocked my phone..i will just side load apps even if i don't wish to do
is find my phone working? it took me 24 hrs to get find my phone working and then I can buy apps.

I have not tried that and dont think it has anything to do here..I can /have purchased apps from phone..but i cant from Zune..read my OP.
Just a quick google tells me that there is an app marketplace in India, just no music/videos, same as the rest of the world outside US and EU.
So, try setting your PC back to India again to view app marketplace.
Also, what happens when you go to maketplace on your phone? Can see any apps or not?

1. If i set PC to India, I dont even see MARKETPLACE (on left top) and SIGN-IN (on right top) in ZUNE.
2. No matter what country i set(INDIA or US), be it PC , Live ID or Phone, i can make app purchase from Phone.
I've just been through this drama for NZ and after first getting a glimpse of the US marketplace via my 12 year old Live ID, I then had to create a new ID before I could get it to work with my local credit card.
At that point Music and Podcasts disappeared and only apps and videos remain. Not very happy about that, but I'm assuming MS is going to make it work here eventually... better be long before I replace this phone!
I was also unable to add my credit card to the new account, but that was resolved by a very pleasent guy from Zune support who called me and spent 20 minutes sorting it out on the phone. I found that guy by going to the Zune Support page and initiating a chat. They will call you if it is going to be easier to do over the phone.
The fact I have to use a enw Live ID is pissing me off thogh because it completely wastes my old account, which I've used everywhere and has loads of stuff attatched to it. Who wants to get all their messenger contacts moved to another ID?? arrghh! Now I have to run two accounts.
Anyhow.. the point here is to get hold of them through the Zune Support web page... look it up.
I have talked this with Zune support via Live Chat and they informed me that Zune Marketplace is NOT yet enabled for my country and hence my situation will remain as it is. !!!!

[Q] Google Play Store Not Seeing Two Devices Simultaneously

I have two 16 Gb Nook Tablets, both of which are booting off SD cards configured with CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RCO-acclaim-Team B, build GWK74, Android version 2.3.7. I’m seeing a situation that for Google Play, when logged into my Google account on my PC browser, the “My Device” list seems to be “ping-ponging” back and forth between the two devices. I either see one or the other on the My Devices list, but not both at the same time. When a tablet shows up on the list, I can download on a pull from the device (call this tablet #1), but I regularly get an error “Error processing purchase” on the device that’s not on the “My Devices” list (call this #2). If I turn #1 off, then clear the Play Store cache on #2 and restart, it works fine, and it shows on the “My Devices” Google Play list and #1 drops off the list, at which time it I get the Play Store download error on it.
The build.prop ro.product.model, ro.product.brand, and ro.product.manufacturer are difference for each of the tablets, and these entries show up in the Google Play My Devices list (which is how I can see that the ping-ponging is occuring). Further, the Device hostnames and MAC address are different. They are using the same wirelss router, so the Google they are on the same WAN IP address, but in the LAN they are unique.
P.S. Amazon Apps for Android handles the two devices just fine.
Any thoughts on what's going on?
Okay, so no responses so I'll ask this another way. Does anyone know how an android device is registered with a Google Play account? What identifying information is used, and where on the device is it located?
Google Play lists mine as "Bn Nook Tablet". I also have an older reference as "Barnes&Noble BNTV250". Hope this helps
The information is taken from your devices build.prop file. There are a couple threads (both recently brought bumped) on modifying the data therein to spoof other devices. Just look for threads with titles pertaining to "build.prop".
Check this one out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398310
EDIT: Sorry, I see you're familiar with this much already. The web play store seems to cache the devices based on which have most recently connected via your account.
EDIT2: Oh, nevermind... I've no idea what's going on. Possibly a problem with a "sanity check" on the server trying to prevent duplicate records of the same device?
EDIT3 (yes, 3, sorry, I'm scattered tonight): Have you tried setting the build.prop on one of them to spoof a different model device?
I've made the ro.product.build.model, ro.product.brand, and ro.product.manufacturer entries in build.prop unique, and have made the IP device hostname unique. I would have thought that that would have solved this, but these changes did not resolve it. Sigh... If Amazon can get it right, then you would think Google could!
I just got my second Galaxy Nexus today, and encountered the same question.
Any solution yet?
No solution provided as of yet. I started using two separate gmail accounts, and they see their respective NTs. I'm amazed because Amazon can get it right (it sees the two NTs, both as pure Android devices and NTs with sideloading = four devices) but Google Play can't seem to figure it out. Oh and I can delete devices from Amazon, but not Google Play. Go figure.
Have you put the question to the owners of the Play store?
That's good question that I would like to know as well!

.......
wow, i think you have done all that you could do. so the real problem is with google play. i look for the 'easy fix' and i would do the 'two separate email accounts' trick.
AH,, for my 2 Nexus, I think the problem is solved now, at least it seems to be solved.
originally, I have 2 Nexus and just like the OP said, when one can download from Play Store, the other one always show "Error processing purchase" when trying to download a new app.
let me name the normal one #1 and the error one #2
I first go to play.google.com, rename #1 to a unique name(originally it should be something like UNKNOWN DEVICE)
then in #2, clear app data and cache for both "Google Play" and "Google Service Framework". Reboot. Go to Play Store, it's like the first run.
Then I check back play.google.com, the #2 already added as a NEW "UNKNOWN DEVICE" and can normally download app in Google Play while #1 is still working fine.
jzhyok, this didn't work for me. Still using the two-accounts to keep things working.

File a report with police detectives.
Open a new phone account.
Factory reset phone, remove the Google account before you factory reset and backup critical to hdds.
Reload PC if infected. Reflash/update router firmware and secure it or better yet have no internet connection to the PC.
Keep all social media apps off the phone and PC.
Start a new Google account after factory reset. Change all associated accounts to the new Google account along with new secure passwords.
Consider your database may have been compromised as well. Introduce to reloaded devices with caution.
Low level format all flash sticks, etc not in use.
Think before you link, download or install anything to now clean devices.

this is sickening
If the OS is Android 9 or higher a factory reset will purge any rootkit or malware on internal memory.
Isolate, purge.
New phone account, talk to the phone company tech support. Once that's change, the phone is factory reset and a new Google account is set up he shouldn't be able to hack you.
File a complaint with the FBI, it falls under their jurisdiction. They have the resources to pursue this.
Contacting my isp has been tje problem. I get fake whatever and i dont get people in trouble im mean im sure they are not concerned about me personally. Factory reset dont work. It comes back still not giving me control over nothing. i mean5 times a day i can turn off Google autofill and everytime i click on it, its back on. Apps ididnt put onhere i cannot take off and they arent factory. I filed a zuit with tmobile. Somehow their vmails disappeared andi havent hesrd anything. my gmskls get stolen...... a million other things and nobody will help.

Question Galaxy S23 Ultra two main issues

Just bought the S23 Ultra yesterday.
Problem 1
This tab thaf says wifi calling confirm address does not work when I put my address in and this confirm address just sits there and won't close.
Problem 2
My default browser is samsung internet of which is my favorite browser.
Everytime I click a link in my gmail email, A unknown browser pops up every single time, At the top right the 3 dots of the unknown browser it gives me the option to open in samsung browser.
I want to be able to click on a link in my gmail email and my samsung internet browser opens, not some weird browser
With my note 10+ I do not have these issues, I do not have a default browser that never opens, but a unknown browser opens.
This is a severe headache for me.
If these issues can't be fixed. I'm goinv to return this S23 Ultra get my money back and be happy with my note 10+
I'd stick with the N10+, I have two. The biggest issues are SOT and no expandable storage. In spite of being a dinosaur it's a better balanced and more functional phone especially if running Android 9 or 10. New ones can still be purchased loaded with 10. It's a joy to use and is still snappy fast.
The wifi issue may need an update. For both issues try clearing the system cache. Android Web View is probably what you're seeing. You need to set the Samsung browser as the default browser. If that doesn't work there's probably another buried setting you're not spotting. Samsung is notorious for this... some hidden menus aren't even marked. Start double tapping... everything

Note, to those ignored members (3) below laughing this 1.5tb daul drive N10+ gets 9 hours SOT with a degraded battery that's set for replacement. How's your SOT?
GMail probably has a setting to open it up within the app. If you turn that off, it should open with the default browser.
I have the same issue with the WiFi Calling with Telus Canada. I know what it is though. It's the carrier, Telus, blocking me from using it because I bought my device from T-Mobile USA and not them.

No. It's the carrier! I was told specifically by a Telus Network Engineer that they block all non-Canadian devices and devices not sold by Telus from accessing VoWiFi and VoLTE. Some devices are also blocked from accessing 5G.

It works fine with every other SIM from Canadian carriers. Even flashing to the W firmware yields the same results. Canadian and US devices are pretty much the same hardware with the exception of a mmWave antenna that is on the US versions but not the Canadian.

General Those wonderful inventions (Call recording)

I still remember the first bitter feeling when I learned that I could not record the calls, I felt helpless: The companies could, and can, record me but I could not record them to avoid an injustice in the future.
I had a Huawei then, now a S23 Ultra, and discovered the following marvel:

This app only took a few kbbs and added the record button in the phone menu, it recorded in very good quality and solved my life.
Now searching for the Samsung I haven't found anything similar, but I'm sure we might find something similar in some Chinese file or from some random person.
I know what you are going to tell me, there is Cube ACR (but I refuse to give permission to the connector and have access to do whatever I want with my phone) and the change of CSC region to INS but I refuse to believe that something as simple as the file I left in the photo does not exist.
Skvalex call recorder
It's free, and you download it from his website and everything just works. If you want pro features you buy the unlocker app from the play store. But basic recording features are free. And no root needed. I've used it for years and works completely offline if you want if you wanted to make sure it doesn't data.

Although the app is not available on PlayStore, I downloaded it from their official website and it also asks for full access (connector) just like Cube ACR, which is too invasive.
While it requires that for the recording I have used it while blocking all internet connectivity to the app and it works just fine without internet therefore it's not collecting anything if it can't connect to the internet

It's an interesting option, although I'm not entirely convinced, as with access to the whole phone, any command could intermittently activate internet access.
Still, out of curiosity, how do you block an app from accessing the internet?
Change csc to get it integred at sam call

I use a combination of things. I have NextDNS on all of my devices including home wifi and set as private DNS on any device with that setting. I also use tracker control to block internet access to specific apps on device.
