Hello. I have an older LG TV.
LG 43UJ6307 I find that my S23 ultra cannot connect to the TV on the WiFi network. Wireless DEX mode also does not work. The smart view function does not work either. Before that, I had an S22 ultra device and it communicated perfectly with this TV. What could be the problem?

Yeah, i have the same problems. To make it works, you need to reconnect the wifi connection by entering password again. It is really anoying coz we have to do it everytime

Thanks. Now I know it's not a unique error. We hope it will be fixed in the next update.
The update didn't solve the problem either. I can't get the device (DEX) to work no matter what I do. The S22 ultra worked without any problems with the same TV on the same WiFi network. For example, I also read on reddit that many people have a problem. What makes it work for some and not for others?

Hi all,
Just wondering how to setup wi-fi direct? I've gone into the menu and enabled it, hit scan, but it doesn't find either of my 2 laptops.
Do the laptops have to be wi-fi direct certified as well or is there some sort of configuration I have to do to make them available to the phone?

i wish i knew mate, i'm pestering people to find out myself. nobody seems interested. i was linked this video, but the guy is hard to understand and it doesn't work in the way he demonstrates it on my laptop. maybe his is wifi direct certified - thats not really clear ether. have a look anyway, maybe you can figure something out.

wi-wfi direkt is disabled on newer devices by samsung.......... because they have problems with licenses
I use wifi direct to send files from my phone to my friend's phone (he also has the Galaxy S II). Works perfectly and is really fast.

So I guess both devices must be wi-fi direct certified, because my phone doesn't pickup my laptop at all (which is about 3 years old).
Intel Wifi dashboard
there is a programm called intel wifi dashboard , this program enables wifi direct on laptop and then your laptop will be discovered by GSII
WIFI direct is like a private network between your laptop and your GS2 or just 2 GS2 that enables you to transfer files up to 1 Gb in size in just 2 or 3 mins ( i tried it myself by sending a 730 mb wmv file ) without the need of setting up a wireless network
and obviously it's much more faster and effiecent than bluetooth
Has anyone managed to transfer files between Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 and PC using Intel Dashboard?
I can get my Samsung SMART TV to detect my Android Phone

Okay, so I just rooted my phone and flashed a new ROM and it has Wifi-Direct option on it which basically, you just tick to enable and cannot configure. Since my Samsung SMART TV was wifi-Direct certified, I opened the Wifi-Direct Menu and it just detected my phone. It told me that I could either connect by pushing the Wifi-Direct Button on my Device (PBS Way) or by entering the TV-generated PIN on my Device( PIN Way). But I cannot see a "Enter the PIN" Notification pop up on my Android Device. Let me try a Third-Party App and lets see how it goes.

There's an app called Superbeam, that works on android, mac, windows and linux. I use it to transfer files between my Nexus 5, a Galaxy Tab2 and my PC. it works great.
XDA thread: SuperBeam
i recently bought a CP900 printer which supports wifi printing in adhoc mode, but the problem is, my xperia z ultra cannot detect the adhoc networks, ive tried samsung phones, iphones, all can detect this network but mine.
i have tried to flash AOKP, and CM11 roms which still does not detect adhoc networks
is there a solution to this problem?
update, i have also tried some 3rd party wifi detecting software in the market, the network shows up, but when i try to connect it says adhoc not supported by android platform.

Have you tried using the WiFi Direct feature in stock ROM? From what I have read only one of the devices needs it to establish a connection.

Thanks for your quick reply, i will be using this direct outside of an wifi environment, your suggestion is great as i could possibly have a person open up their wifi teathering and use that as a bridge with both my printer and my cellphone connected to it, as my cellphone can work in this mode. although its not the perfect solution, its better than not usable one. thanks for enlightening suggestion.

I was suggesting trying to use the wifi direct function of phone to see if it will detect printer if infrastructure mode is used. I don't really have any knowledge regarding networking, just Googling stuff while I had a few minutes to spare.

the wifi direct does not work with the printer. the infrastructure mode, is just like any other printer when you connect to your home wifi, you can use the printer. my objective is to connect wireless on the location where a direct connection would be desirable.

I have one of these http://www.google.com/shopping/prod...a=X&ei=sbrXU_HYMoidyATcloHwDg&ved=0CDQQ8wIwBg at home, and wonder if it could be used to connect two devices. If so it would allow me to use my chromecast at hotels. Needing a second gadget is a crappy solution but it may work.
So i noticed that my Z5C doesnt connect to WiFi connections automatically. If i step out of my home, and come back, the WiFi doesn't connect back on its own, unless i unlock the device or start to operate it normally. Same about my Office WIFI. But once connected, its all ok. Are any of you guys facing the same issue. I have heard of Lollipop WIFI problems before. Is it common? Looks bit annoying that i have to unlock it always just to get it connected.

Not yet. I suspect it will make no difference though. Maybe post in on the sony forum so they are aware multiple people have the same bug?
I just activated always scanning option under the Advanced wifi settings. Didn't make any difference. This isn't good. Yeah ill do that.

i did use an app called the WIFI connection manager
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roamingsoft.manager&hl=en
so it seems to have an option called WiFi fix, and different types of fixing are there- Standard fix which erases all saved WIFI's, the simple fix which doesnt erase but does some correction, and advanced fix which requires root. I went to try the simple fix and then checked for WIFI issues. Steped out of the office twice and when i came back, it got automatically connected. Have to check the home WIFI later. You should try as well.

My issue is it doesnt auto connect by itself, unless i interact with the phone, like simply unlocking it. Once connected, it stays connected even when it sleeps. But if i step out of the area and come back, we think its automatically connected. But it doesn't.
same issue here with E6683 on 6.0
I downloaded the app suggested for the WiFi fix and I will try it and let you know the outcome.
In case that does not work.
I had a similar issue with my Z5c After the marshmallow upgrade at home and with my work network. Apparently there is a new DHCP Client in Marshmallow which actually respects TLS Standards. More on this here: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=188867
At home upgrading my router fixed it, but the IT at work is still working on the issue...
TLDR; Marshmallow has a new DHCP Client, you can revert to Android 5.1 DHCP Client:
- Settings -> Developer Options -> "Use Legacy DHCP Client" and Reboot.
This fixed the issues for me.

The solution given by adendum worked for me as well.
Thanks.

It helped me as well. Thanks a bunch! I'll spread the word on the Sony forum.
Thanks!
Oh wow - thank you, thank you, thank you! Just applied this fix for my Xperia 3C on Android 6.0 which was being super flakey staying on WiFi at work but was working just fine at home. I was going crazy thinking this was me so glad there is an easy workaround.

I don't think that will work. When you tether your 4G connection, Chromecast will connect to the Wi-Fi hot-spot that is created by the phone, while your Mate 10 pro is still connected in 4G.
So they are not connected on the same network as it's required for the Chromecast to work.

I have an old Chromecast here, so i will try, but i don't think it will work.
Maybe it would work with this configuration :
1) Mate 10 pro used for tethering, creating a Wi-Fi hot-spot
2) Chromecast connected to the Wi-Fi hot-spot
3) Laptop (or other device) connected to the same Wi-Fi Hot-spot
But honestly, i never tested this kind of configuration.

I think you're right!
I resolved thetering with my pc already.
For info, in advanced wifi settings, channel was on auto.. Didn't work.. I tried on channel 4 and now my pc recognizes my phone.
And for chromecast gonna test your solution. Read same things on web..
Thanks dude

i solve today!
1) open google home on android phone, tap on chromecast settings, disconnect from wifi;
2) on android phone, let's active hotspot with wpa2 password;
3) re-open google home, add device; tap on chromecast, connect chromecast to the wifi hotspot net.
Now you can stream phone on mobile net, directly on chromecast.
I've been a long time SideSync user, but I am running in to issues with it and the S9+.
It will only connect via WiFi (I prefer USB) and I am unable to get the desktop client to display my screen.
Does anyone else use SideSync, and are these issues occurring to you?
Thanks.

I may have solved the problem.
I disconnected the VPN I was using, tried SideSync again, and everything works as it should.
