If you hunt down your firmware online, most likely it'll come package with an MSM tool which uses the OfP format.
The firmware is packaged in the OFP file. The Ofp file has to be unpacked you have to use a tool called Oppo decrypt. Follow the link to GitHub for the tool on how to install it

Once you unpack the firmware OSP file, you get all the raw images. There's one more step to do. You'll notice that you have super.img in four parts. You have to merge these into one super.img
In linux you can use simg2img to merge the super. On windows there is an other tool. Which ill upload later.
Once you completed these tasks, you can flash the firmware using fast boot and fast boot d command.
Edit. Here is the tool to merge the supers. Thanks to drscad for the tool.
In the plugn in tab see the bottom of list there splice/combine.

HI! Is there any way to flash a custom rom using PC?
SP FLash tool needs a scatter file
but my ROM doesnt have any.
I tried to make my own scatter file but I cant find the system.img
The system.img is a folder
how can i convert the system folder to system.img?
PLS HELP
Ive done this but it was year's ago while making an odin flashable firmware for sgh-t599. Sorry to say I can't remember the procedure but I used guides so the info is out there.
You'll need Linux, and you must know the size of system partition and if it need to be raw img format or sparse img format.
With the right commands these img's can also be extracted straight from a working device.
I downloaded the stock rom for a Motorola device (E4 Plus) and know how to flash it with SP Flash Tool it but I'm curious as to how I could mount/extract the .img files to see what's inside and try modifications.
Trying to mount the .img files as ext4 on Linux fails and running simg2img also fails. Any ideas?
Another thing I'm wondering is if there's a way to convert the scatter files to a flashable rom (zip file)? and why are the scatter files so large compared to "normal" flashable roms?
Device : s9e
I downloaded a stock rom from sammobile but it refuses to flash because i have newer binary version (latest)
So i decided to extract the vendor.img.lz4 from it and flash it separately in TWRP.
But when i extract the vendor.img from AP i found that it has .lz4 extension. Can i just remove it and flash in TWRP? Or do i need additional steps? Thanks in
Update: i found 7zip zs and it allowed me to extract the .lz4 compressed file
You need to extract them first
On Windows 7-Zip ZS can do it
https://github.com/mcmilk/7-Zip-zstd/releases
On Linux use lz4, sould be in the repos
# lz4 -d somefile.lz4

You can flash .img with TWRP, idk what's Iz4 but you may want to search a Iz4 to img converter.
I'm not sure tho if Iz4 is just a nickname you can remove or you have to convert it to .img. you may want to search that too
Have a good day
I found something : https://stackoverflow.com/questions/54330039/how-to-read-spark-log-files-iz4-or-snappy

Before I would appreciate your help
The tools that I could find here in the forum have helped me to extract the firmware files and later extract the files from the system.img and vendor.img from Android 10 down, which I have and thanking them for their great work.
I have downloaded a firmware but it is from the Android 11 version when unzipping it I find the system.img, system_ext.img, vendor.img and vendor_boot.img then when I run the tool to extract the files from the img files it gives me Error the tools from what I see only support the version of Androd 10 so I cannot extract the files
Someone from here has been able to extract the files from these img of android 11 and if so, where can I download the tool to be able to do it from windows thanks for the attention
I have been looking for tools for windows that allow me to extract the files from the file system.img vendor.img and vendor_boot.img since they are android 11 firmware, so someone who can help me how to extract the files, I have android 10 firmware and I can extract the files without any problem
